The hotel was nice but at $200 a night was too expensive. It was my 60th birthday and my 5 years cancer free. We wanted to celebrate for the full weekend but with the prices of the hotels we could only be there one night. And the restaurant Timberline was so crazy expensive and $100 per person it made our stay less enjoyable. With money you make at the casinos you would think that your hotel and restaurants wouldn't be as expensive. I lived in Reno and their hotels and restaurants were extremely reasonably priced even their better hotels weren't as much as Ameristar was. Very disappointing. You put a damper on my 60th birthday and my fifth cancer free anniversary.

We received good customer service at Ameristar/Blackhawk, Co. My husband is in the hotel business so we can appreciate and understand how important the hospitality service really is.

However, the room we were in smelled like smoke from the moment we entered. I did call to the front desk to bring it to their attention, and was kindly offered to return to the front desk to be moved to another suite. We declined the offer since my husband absolutely LOVED the view. Otherwise, I would've given our stay a 10.

Great pool and hot tub. Great size room amd bathroom. Free parking.

Food options very poor for the evening. Timberline grilled appeared closed and Centennial Market is an overpriced, budget canteen, serving food on plastic trays to be eaten with plastic knives and forks. Same standard as a fast junk food outlet. Well below what we expected for the price.

Have lived in the Denver metro area for nearly 30 years. This was the first overnight stay in the Blackhawk/ Central City area. We are very well seasoned travelers - both domestic and international although not experienced this neat and vibrant area for anything other than a dinner with some gambling. We thoroughly enjoyed the Ameristar and found the staff to be professional, courteous and friendly.

Likely due to scheduled maintenance, only 3 of the 5 elevators were operational. This resulted in fairly lengthy wait times getting upstairs to our room or waiting to get to the Lobby/Casino level.

We had a power outage at our home in Georgetown, Co. We decided to look for a hotel close by. We have never stayed in Black Hawke, but decided to try a night. We brought board games from home. We ended up swimming for an hour, we all had great showers and my oldest had a relaxing bath, we played board games for an hour. Got to go at the Ramen restaurant, brought it to the room, and ate, and we brushed our teethies and watched Modern Family on the cable tv. It was one of the best nights sleep we’d all needed in a while. It was a wonderful mini staycation. So much needed. Even the front desk staff when we checked in was excellent, as was the valet.

Lovely room, very quiet. Breakfast was great. Disappointed no buffet during the week. My biggest complaint was the mattress. I literally have traveled the world, slept in some questionable places, but never slept in such a horrible bed. Truly felt like small rocks on top of mattress. I was so sore and tired after such a rough night. Had to take pain medication. Family in next room said theirs was awful as well. Please buy new mattresses. It such a nice facility, people need to sleep well. Thanks.

Location was awesome! Bed was comfortable and room was very clean. Although we did not use the pool nor hot tub, we did visit the pool area just to check it out. If we ever stay here again, we will definitely utilize these amenities. Great view from the 34th floor.

One thing that could have been better is if the cleaning crew would not be so loud in the mornings. I understand they have a job to do, but being so loud with their discussion with one another and banging of things was a bit annoying.

I was disappointed with our breakfast at the Fireside grill We were the first customers to enter the restaurant and were told there would be a delay in getting our meal due to staffing issues. The potatoes on my husbands plate looked like they were left overs from the day before. We have eaten at this restaurant several times before and it has been good. I had French toast and was not great. They just threw mashed up bananas on the toast which did not look appetizing . For a 50.00 breakfast it was very disappointing

I always enjoy the hotel at Ameristar. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are lovely. I had a 28th floor room with nice views. My players card got me a $10 discount too.

NO food available in the night, and virtually no vegan food ever available (I kinda expected this and brought a few small snakcs that had to tide me over). Check in person was SO slow (possible new? but an older woman). The night stands (didn't really notice the other furniture) has seem much better days - looked like it had been in a flood! It took me about 20 minutes to figure out the tv. The channel button is probably the smallest one on the remote!

Loved the room it was beautiful and the view was so amazing.

The elevator was slow and the inside hot tub was not hot enough so that made the outside hot tub very crowded. The check in staff was very nice but when I locked my key in the room other front desk staff seemed irritated to give me a replacement also the ice machine on floor 32 didn't work so that was super frustrating to have to use the slow elevator
