We knew we would be getting into town early, and the lovely owners made sure our room was clean for our early arrival. In addition to that, I'm extremely allergic to animals and they had a gorgeous pet free room for us!!! The bed was the most comfortable bed we've experienced in all our years of travel. The room ( Pinecone themed) was so tasteful and lovely! Most hotels boast of cleanliness now a days, but The North Face Lodge was truly spic and span. The kitchenette was well stocked, and the bathroom spotless. The communal deck was glorious! Clean and ready for happy hour! The view was to die for! We will certainly be returning. 😊

The only issues I had was when I was checking their address on their website, I saw Booking.com charged us @ $100.00 more than if we booked through North Face. I will never use booking.com again.

I grabbed this room as the last available in town and my expectations were "medium". When I got there the exterior exuded a well kept place with an outdoorsy "cabin" atmosphere. Robin greeted me when I checked in and answered all my questions. When I went into the room "Ski Lodge" - WOW! beautifully furnished and with a new bathroom with marble and tile, I was amazed! I immediately went outside and complemented Robin on the room and she remarked that they couldn't do much with the outside, but they spent a lot of time and money on the insides of all the rooms. It really showed. My room was excellent with kitchen (all the pots/pans etc) a sitting area, access to huge common patio with fire-pit (standing) chairs and a wonderful bathroom. the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable with lots of pillows (the way I like). The room had a variety of lighting, a kitchen table and two very comfortable chairs to relax and read in. I'll be back!

It took me awhile to find a place to hang my clothes but I figured it out - antlers on the bathroom door!

The rooms were very nice, and each had a different theme. The beds were very comfortable and the room was amazing. The owners were awesome and shared a wealth of information about Lake City, the best places to eat, and things to do. We will definitely stay at The North Face Lodge if and when we go back to Lake City.

There was nothing that I didn’t like about this lodge

The owner greeted us as we arrived. Was helpful in answering our questions and even provided coal (there was a propane grill too), lighter fluid, and Seasonings for our dinner that night. Beds were comfy. And, although the establishment has no a/c, the night (in mid-July) cooled down quickly and the provided fan was more than sufficient.

North Face Lodge exceeded our expectations! Hugh and Barb were beyond nice and welcoming! They met us outside when we arrived and offered us a beverage. The room was beautiful. Newly renovated, spacious and perfectly clean. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in. I will definitely stay here again when in Lake City.

The room was large and comfortable. The staff let me check in early. The wifi worked well. There was a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and hot water pot in the room. I was comfortable.

The 10 am checkout time was earlier than most hotels, but the real problem was that the staff started using power tools at 7:00am, and then knocked on my door asking if I needed anything at 8:00am. They are clearly trying to push people out early, and I think it is a bad policy, especially considering the price I paid for the room.

Great place. Super accommodating staff, especially when we showed up early and they worked fast to ready our room. Really clean, comfy beds, great kitchen set up if you need that (not full stove but hot plate and lots of everything else)

Only disappointment was that the main road is about 30 feet below the deck, which you can't tell in the pix, so you hear pretty frequent car noise. But the deck was beautiful.

Very nice warm welcome from the owner. Spacious themed rooms with thoughtful touches and comfortable beds. Nice to support local owners.

The only thing that was inconvenient is the wifi wasn't working the two nights I stayed. I know Lake City is remote but my cell phone doesn't work in the town so it was hard not to have access to internet.

The North Face Lodge is a great place to stay in Lake City. we have stayed here many times over the last decade, but recent room renovations are a “cherry on top”. the place is comfortable, fairly quiet (a little close to Hiway 50 if there is lots of traffic) and the rooms have everything to make a stay in the mountains convenient.

we like the property - it is great. the price has climbed but that is to be expected in 2022

So many things to like! The people, the clean room, the beautiful view of the mountains from the deck and from inside the room and very pet friendly which was important to us. We will be back for sure to explore even more of the area!

We loved everything
