The American Hotel Atlanta Downtown-a Doubletree by Hilton

Good location, clean and renewed.

The valet parking service is awful. My car had a scratch from them. The majority of the time, we have to wait so long for the car.

walking distance to mercedes benz dome. right on the heart of downtown Atlanta

parking. offered valet parking only for $50 overnight. street parked via meter 1st day and after 27 mins over got $75 fine. if fine is paid in 10 days it increases to $150. second day used near by public parking garage that started $28 daily rate and rate renews at 6am. we parked at 12:30am on the 13th, thinking ok, we check put at 12noon so the rate wont renew until 6am on the 14th, that was confusing. we pull out the deck and the machine requested $56 instead of $28. we had only been parked from the time returned from our event at 12:30am- 12pm on the same day ( 11 1/2 hrs) not a FULL DAY which is what DAILY PARKING MEANS!

We arrived around midnight to check in and it was no problem. Friendly staff, large and clean room. Outstanding location! Two blocks from Centennial Park. Around the corner was a small 24/7 shop where we could buy the essentials (hot dogs, water, etc.) having arrived so late. The hotel is close enough to the MARTA station and we were back at the airport in about 45 minutes. If I had to, I would go back.

Of course it doesn't depend on the hotel, but it helps to give some context. Around the hotel and in the center in general there are many homeless people, but they don't come to "disturb".

The parking. You have to pay 45 a night to use there parking

This is a great hotel in the middle of downtown Atlanta making it great to access all the tourist attractions. The beds and rooms were comfortable and the rooms spacious enough for two people to move around comfortably. The shower and bathrooms were also good (nothing worse than a crappy shower). The fitness centre was a bit bare but also had everything you needed for a hotel workout (the peleton bike was a good addition). Parking was also easy - you could valet but I chose to park on the streets nearby as I was out and about a fair bit - $8 for 4 hours (7am - 12pm, free on Sundays).

It was a good hotel

The room was clean and spacious. We had a King suite, the master bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and very spacious.

The pull out bed mattress had stains on it and was very uncomfortable. The blanket sent in for it was like sand paper. Would only give is one pillow thankfully my daughter brought her own... so my other daughter had one too.had to ask 2 times for extra towels and wash clothes. The next morning house keeping tried to come in on my girls sleeping @ a little after 9:00. Check out isn't til 12. Needs to be better communicating on who is out. So that doesn't happen. Also need more parking had to park couple blocks up in public parking. Would be nice to have a microwave in the room.

Overall I was satisfied with my stay. The location made it easy to walk around part of downtown and the rooms were really nice too.

Upon checking in the staff was rude answering all my questions with “just google it and you’ll get an answer” and they were simple questions about parking. Though the staff the next morning was exceptionally good. One last thing, maybe change brand of bathroom products the shampoo and conditioner dried my hair and the soap made my skin feel like paper.

I absolutely enjoyed a little bits in history that the Americana had. The location was top-notch for all the little restaurants including the venue for the show we were going to go see which was right across the street. I feel like I should have upgraded to one of the bigger rooms and I will know better for next time if I get the chance to stay here again. It was just that nice and I wish I had had more time. The Cloakroom was a bonus!

If I had anything to complain about it would be trying to drive in for the valet service from one busy street right into another. But that's just the nature of Atlanta.

location was great. we walked to our event in less than 10 minutes. room was large and quite comfy. staff was friendly. the valet staff was amazing, dude was running like a beast when we checked out and got our truck.

the restaurant. we went down hoping to be able to stay in on our first night there. had to self seat, no big deal. sat down, waited about 5 minutes with no one coming to us. couple minutes later a server asks the table next to us how they’re doing, completely ignores us (as well as the multiple dirty tables around us). we waited probably 15 minutes with not one person even offering us water. also, the tv worked perfectly fine the first night. second night, couldn’t use the guide or any other functions, could only scroll through the channels to see what would come up

The staff was very helpful and sweet! They were a little overwhelmed with the influx of traveling traffic but they maintained their composure. the rooms were very clean and stocked with everything we needed. We will be traveling back soon and I will book with them again should I be able too.

The valet was very nice and I don’t mind paying for it however with them being off such a busy street the valets should receive some more trained as to make things flow smoother. should someone not want to park valet they should still be able to pull up and unpack. it seems like several traffic jams were being had because of this flawed system.
