The location is amazing, the room was quite and spacious (deluxe king bed) (AC could be a little less noisy but didn't keep us awake). The staff is kind and attentive. The common areas are beautifully curated. We didn't get a room with a great view but we will definitely ask for one next time. The view should be amazing. We love the neighborhood, great restaurants at walk distance, 1 block from the lake shore but super quite. We will go back.

Ac was a bit loud, no view (specific to our room), elevators' floor need a bit of love. We didn't have breakfast or used the bar, but they seemed very nice.

Immensely grateful for the exceptional experience at the JdV by Hyatt Ambassador, Chicago. The staff, the views, and the overall ambience felt like a beautiful home away from home. Special shoutout to Felix, who made my arrival at the hotel so heartwarmingly comfortable. The remarkable hospitality from the manager has left me eagerly anticipating my next stay when I'm back in the Windy City. Needed a particular type of room that wasn't available, but the hotel accommodated me and went above and beyond to help meet my needs.

A gorgeous hotel with tons of character, well designed and comfortable. A stunning lobby with high ceilings, a fireplace, and beautiful furnishings. Staff is professional and warm. Walk to fun restaurants and bars.

The Ambassador does not have a working restaurant and bar at this time. They have a hot breakfast available but the food is mixed. Coffee was also not available early Sunday morning because the staff responsible were late to arrive. I suggest to the management to have the night staff start coffee for guests.

My room was on 13th floor with large windows and I get a really good amount of sunlight through out the day. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It took only 8 minutes drive to the hotel where the congress that I had to attend was held.

The toilet won't flush well. There's no microwave in the room and it has to be requested to bring one to your room but we couldn't get it as it wasn't available most of the time.

Location was great, only a few blocks from a subway station. Room was clean, modern and had a comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Staff at front desk was friendly. It was easy to leave my bags the day to grab later when we checked out since we had a later flight. Really pretty area close to shopping/dining. Free coffee in the mornings was a nice bonus.

Walls in the hotel were thin, could hear my neighbors in the hallway and one neighbor coughing one day which would have been unpleasant if people were in their rooms a lot.

The hotel had a boutique feel with all of the amenities of a larger hotel. Location was great - within walking distance to the N Avenue Beach and Mag Mile. Hotel interior was elegant but welcoming. Staff were helpful, friendly and kind. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner in their restaurant, as well as the bar for cocktails and the Library for our morning coffee. The rooms were very large yet cozy, with all the amenities you would expect from a classy 4* hotel. We will definitely return!

Our room was on the 3rd floor so we did have some local traffic noise, but we will just have to ask for a room on a higher level floor on our next visit :)

Bar~decor was designed to make you feel as if you are “in” a glass of Champagne! Method traditional! The gentlemen here took amazingly great care of me in a boot with a walker due to a broken tibia and fibula! They made my best friends and me feel like queens. It was like having my big brothers taking care of us.

Part of the charm is the old world feel of Hollywood, but expect smaller doors etc. as the people back then were smaller.

The Ambassador is one of my favorite hotels. My review will skew toward the positive. Every room I've gotten is super comfortable. I love that the beds are platform beds, which is so much better for my chronic back issues. I love to hang out in The Library to drink coffee and chill out. The staff is one of the friendliest ones I've ever encountered. I came for my birthday, on an overnight, and was upgraded to a suite and given complimentary bar tickets. I've never stayed in a suite before and it was fantastic. Almost an embarrassment of riches. Thanks to Kenzie for the perks! Alex, the bartender, was fantastic. He was great to talk to and has created some interesting drinks that fit with the hotel's entertainment "mecca" past. I always try to bring, at least, one of my Chicago up to the room, lobby, and Library to show them how fantastic the space is.

The only problem I had was the original room I was scheduled to be in smelled of cigarette smoke. The hotel has a non-smoking policy, and it's been in place for years. I'm guessing the guest who stayed in the room before didn't care and chose to light up. The front desk staff immediately switched me to a new, and comparable room. This didn't dampen my experience at all.

The Ambassador charged me an extra €99.25 in fees for something - tax maybe? I don't know what. They demanded to scan my credit card upon arrival. The mini fridge etc was empty so we didn't rack up anything they could charge, and now they've charged the card €99. Would never recommend this hotel if that's how they carry on.
