Claridge House

Great stay! I found the staff to be really nice and accomodating, including regular texts checking in to see if everything was up to standard. Room was simple but clean and comfortable with a good bed. Lobby and lounge area is very nice and there were people down there all the time doing work and socializing. The bar downstairs is a nice addition, although it's expensive outside of the guest happy hour period. Just a few steps to the Red Line and plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. All in all a great stay and I would be happy to return!

(Not a big deal, but the thermostat seemed like an old one with very simple logic, such that whenever the room temperature went below the set number the heat came on, and whenever it went above the set number the air conditioning came on. The air conditioning! In winter! To avoid this ecological waste I just turned the whole thing off from time to time).

The room was the perfect size for a single traveler like myself! Not too big, not too small. It was plenty clean and the bed was very comfy! Not to mention the AC worked like a charm. Definitely would consider coming back!

A few minor things I noticed that weren't total trip ruiners, but moreso head scratchers. My room's bathroom lightswitch seemed to want to keeo the light on unless you pushed it just right. Along with that, the 5th floor elevator button needed to get slammed with your palm for it to properly work.

The staff are very friendly and always there to welcome you with a smile. The hotel is modern, clean and such a convenient and central location. Furthermore, the room is clean and there is a good sized gym as well.

The room is too small and there is not much space in the bathroom to put your stuff. The windown in the room was not well insulated so at moments there was а bit of wind flowing in the room. Also, I did not find the pillows comfortable.

The staff was nothing but kind, helpful, excellent! Room was clean & adorable. Coffee bar in the lobby was delicious. Thankful for the complementary bottles of water at check in. Appreciated the handout about the amenities of the hotel. Loved the neighborhood!

The coffee maker was broken - I alerted the front desk & they were apologetic. The bed. So uncomfortable. My goodness. We both woke up throughout the night a few times and in the morning pretty achy. It was the one minus in the experience.

Room and staff were great. Lobby for cocktail, so welcoming. Very nice, simple and relaxing place to stay. Clean, great coffee in the morning with nice pastry options.

What I didn't like – was the QR code for room service, that is handed to you with the room key. I did try this for breakfast and not very good. Didn't realize it is an outside delivery – coffee was cold. Would rather you promote that there is coffee in the lobby and pastries (much better). I didn't realize this was an option. The display in the room did not turn on that most likely had this information. No hair dryer.

The bed was comfortable, with nice pillows and duvet covered comforter. The room was cleaned well, and cleanliness is my top priority. The last stay the person handling check in was wonderful, and extremely welcoming.

Unfortunately, a different person was at the desk, and made me feel I was bothering her. She didn't even offer me the complimentary two bottles of water. When I got to the room, I remembered the water but the phone didn't work. I went to the desk and asked for a new room, bothering the desk worker a second time. The room I was given had particularly bad and worn carpet no vacuuming could get looking clean. The plaster in the bathroom ceiling was hanging low from what must have been a flood above at one time. The entire hotel is very shabby and unkept. The price was low, but set your expectations very low or you will be disgusted you paid anything for it.

Location was amazing. A walk in any direction takes you to a different neighborhood with shops, restaurants, bars, parks, etc. We found on-street parking to be very easy and didn't need to use the attached ramp. Free water provided by the front desk was a very appreciated service. We also brought our dogs and appreciated the pet friendliness.

Room was a bit small, which is typical for old Chicago buildings, but it was comfortable and functional.

The room was a little small but it was very nice nonetheless. It was clean from top to bottom even the shelves and the shower was spotless. Front desk was extremely helpful and even sent me a text message to check how I like the room. I would recommend this

I think that the room could have been a little bigger but besides that little detail, I couldn't find nothing else that I didn't like.

The lobby was very welcoming, the hidden office behind the desks was super cool! The elevator was always quick to arrive, even on the twelfth floor! Beautiful views from the room & a firm bed. I will definitely be staying here again.

The only issue I had during my stay was with the parking garage next to the hotel, I was not alone in that either. It took an hour and seventeen minutes for my car to show up.

I was in town for a birthday celebration; Nikko, Aidan, and Shakeya went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant experience. They checked on me throughout my stay and made sure my friends and I were comfortable. The room was amazing and spacious. Front desk staff was available throughout the entire evening. As I thanked Nikko, I heard another traveler giving similar compliments about their exceptional service. Will definitely return.
