Super 8 by Wyndham Marion

it’s located next to the highway for easy traveling to local hiking areas. there’s a McDonald’s right next to the location, it has a nice play place for kids and was hot fresh food. the property had a grilling area and picnic table with shelter. We had a family dinner and enjoyed it after a long day in Shawnee Forest.

Nothing to complain about! Have a $100 cash deposit on hand, I called before booking do I didn’t arrive clueless like some. So we loved the property! very accommodating and kind!

The receptionist lady was very nice and friendly. The room was clean. Great price!

The people next door were banging their door non-stop at 12am. They kept the metal latch between the door to prevent it from locking. I think they kept bringing their bags but it was nonstop and they would let the door hit the metal latch with full force making extremely loud noise at midnight snd then at 2 am. But it’s not a hotels fault. It could happen in a 5 star hotel, just because you have an idiot neighbor without a sense of basic manners. Again nothing to do with hotel

I liked the following: several restaurants within walking distance, Club nearby for good fuel price, clean room, comfortable bed, free parking, includes good breakfast, microwave and frig. in room, friendly staff, and a fair value price for a room in a safe area.

The bathtub drain lever would not stay open, so water accumulated when taking shower and then required one to sit and manually hold the lever down to drain the tub for the next person to shower. Tub drained very slowly even while manually draining the tub. Also, a rubber baseboard was coming unglued in the bathroom. The baseboard is a minor issue, but the tub drain was a real annoyance. These are being reported to the property. In general, we enjoyed our stay, but it looks like the hotel operator needs to conduct sn overall inspection of each room, plumbing, lighting, air conditioning, etc., as something like an annoying bathtub drain interferes with an otherwise positive stay.

Rooms and lobby more up to date then I was thinking it would be. Also very clean everywhere. But the main plus was absolutely no smoke smell anywhere. Walking distance to many things.

I can honestly say there was nothing I didn’t like. I sit here and try to think of something but if I have to think that hard must be ok. The town of Marion had a power outage that kept the a/c from coming on for a while but that was half the town and no fault of the hotel.

The decoration of the room was very colorful and with a retro style. It was spacious and clean. The breakfast options are very limited, but I do not know if this is due to the pandemic situation or it was as it normally is. The bathroom was clean, and there was sufficient parking. It was a good overnight stop for our road trip.

The AC unit was very loud, but this is a common problem that I have noticed in several hotels across the US. I can imagine the Harley Davidson must be a shareholder of the manufacturer of these AC units, so you can sleep with that "pleasant" sound and dream as if you were riding one of their motorbikes. Jokes aside, I can tell that at least the AC unit was clean and luckily we could switch it off during the night without struggling with the room temperature.

Anu is extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She is a great asset! I really liked the room. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean!

Great location close to lots of resteraunts and easy access to the interstate

I didn't like that they automatically cancel your guaranteed reservation if you do not arrive by 6pm.Fortunately I arrived at 630pm so they still had a room.But why would they automatically cancel a reservation guaranteed with a credit card? That was unpleasant.

Place was clean and bed was comfortable, price was very affordable. Staff was nice. Many choices for dining and entertainment very close. Easy access to the interstate and free wifi.

The only thing I didn't like was the safety chain that gives an added security to the chance of someone breaking the room came right out of the wall when I went to place the chain in the track to lock it in place. And it was obvious by the holes drilled in the door frame this was not the first time this has happened. The doors do shut hard so make sure you check your door before walking away. Hot water is very hot, I can see where someone could get burned badly... I didn't have it barely off cold and the water was very hot.

Nice clean room. Great little breakfast. Staff was friendly. Since Wyndam has taken over they've done a lot of upgrades to the rooms. More modern touches...more USB hookups for your electronics is really nice too. Nicer bedding and bathrooms too.

Maybe that we could hear the people up stairs walking around.

Good value, good breakfast and comfortable bed

The big mirror in the room. I closed the curtains tight because the lights outside were so bright, turned on the bathroom light, mostly closed the door but thanks to the placement of the mirror the bathroom light blinded me when in bed (2 bed room) so had to change beds and shut the bathroom door nearly shut :-( I seldom take a chance staying at a Wyndham property because from my experience so many are nasty, in disrepair and seem like a flop house. This one is nice, clean a value.
