Despite the extensive renovation work in the main hotel our room was in a quiet set of buildings to the far left with a lovely view of the ocean. This involved a short walk to the main hotel for their restaurant, also with ocean views, but it was well worth it and we ate there every night, good beer too! Parking was easy lots of room. The beds were comfortable and the walk in shower in the bathroom was very good. Chairs with cushions for the balcony. All very pleasant. Special mention to the restaurant chef, really enjoyed the food, thanks.

I felt a little nervous as the main doors to our building weren't secure, anyone could walk in and there was no reception desk there, quite isolated, we kept our door bolted.

The ocean view from our room was icing on the cake! It helped us start each morning and end each day with the energy and peace we had hoped to find on vacation. The breakfast had a wide variety of hot and cold selections each morning, including vanilla almond milk boxes for the kids! Both indoor and outdoor pools were nice and both had hot tubs. They didn’t seem to get too crowded during peak hours. They always remained clean. The staff was exceptionally helpful, offering umbrellas for us without even asking on the one rainy day. The gift shop was very reasonably priced and was a great place to find a few postcards, jams and candles we needed before leaving.

The only thing we were disappointed in was the restaurant. A couple of our dishes were good. The other two were disappointing. We are guessing our server may have been brand new as he didn’t know some things on the menu (seasoning on salmon…) and didn’t come back to us to check in, offer water, provide check. We had to find him. Again, hopefully it was not the norm.

The place is wonderful and great, great breakfast, the place is calm, lovely and very beautiful. There was only one problem, we took the room facing the sea on the first floor and there were constantly unpleasant smells from cooking in the kitchen, including the smell of gas. When I contacted reception about it, they said there was nothing they could do. It was impossible to sit on the balcony facing the sea because of the smells from the kitchen. We do recommend the place, but not the rooms near the kitchen. Ask in advance to be away from the kitchen. We didn't know that, so we didn't ask in advance and the place was fully booked

As we wrote above, the place is recommended and great, just take a room away from the smells of the kitchen

Driving by I always thought the hotel as expensive, comparing prices it was a bargen. The staff was exceptional. One young lady managed the bar. She was so funny, I encouraged her to sign up for a comedy club, The view was excellent, I used the hot tub which was great and had a chance to meet and talk at length with another guest. Breakfast was exceptional. A lot of hotels offer packaged pastries and junk food, however, your facility offered a variety of hot/cold foods with an equal balance of carbs and protein. The wait staff was great. They kept an eye on tables and quickly cleaned vacant tables. I would not only stay here again, I've been bragging about you hotel to all my friends.

The only complaint was staff not being able to tell me if the food was good at the steak house across the street. You should consider requiring members of your staff (at least front desk personnel) to eat there so they can at least give an opinion. I asked both front desk and restaurant personnel if they had eaten at the steak house--no one had. We went over to the place to try it out. The decor was good and waiter was good, but the steak was just plain terrible. For the expense, the steak should have been better. No one asked how the steak was.

The staff was wonderful! Front desk was extremely helpful in providing maps and giving directions, advice on tours, weather forecast, tide schedules, and dining recommendations. The lobby has coats and umbrellas you can borrow during your stay. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was so pleasant and accommodating. The chef, in addition to all the standards of eggs, bacon, sausage,prepared several special breakfast loaf breads each day and a variety of egg and casserole items. Fresh fruit & yogurt, was in abundance and the coffee was great! Sunrise over the harbor was the perfect place to have breakfast. This is a wonderful place to come to relax and enjoy the beauty of Arcadia National Park and the Bar Harbor area!

The view from our room was amazing! The sunrise over the water was a welcomed surprise. Amenities on the property include an "Island Hopper" bus stop and boat tours that leave from the on-site pier. The complimentary breakfast included a variety of hot and cold items which was very satisfying. I would definitely stay again on our next trip to Bar Harbor.

The shower head was really high which made it difficult to wash and rinse my hair. It would be nice to have a hand-held extension for average height people. Otherwise, the facilities were great.

The view from our balcony afforded us amazing sunrises. The food at The Bistro was fantastic. The selections in our included breakfasts were satisfying and rotated every few days. The quality of the food was quite good - including the best croissants we have ever eaten!! The maintenance staff were so friendly and helpful - we enjoyed talking with them and loved that they often sang while they did their work! We will definitely return to your wonderful hotel.

A luggage stand in the room would have been helpful.

Loved the location of the hotel! Great views. The breakfast was better than expected. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again!

Wish the outside pool/hot tub was open a little later in the evening. Could use some more hooks for wet towels in the bathroom. Maybe a fan in bathroom as towels/swimsuits never seemed to dry. Hooks in room for jackets would be nice too.

The view from our balcony was beautiful, breakfast was plentiful and the room was very clean. It was in a quieter location, a free shuttle took us to downtown bar harbor. The yards were well maintained and the staff were friendly.

The hotel restaurant was very busy and seemed short staffed. Even after making a reservation, we had to wait for a long time to be seated. The sight seeing cruises departed from the dock facing our balcony and could get noisy at times (especially in the mornings).

Location and views. It is about 1.5 miles from Bar Harbor waterfront, where all the restaurants/stores are. The views from the resort are great. Some of the rooms are truly oceanview. Open the window and there is the bay/ocean. Also, there is a boat tour that leaves from there as well. The staff was great. Breakfast included, basic, but still breakfast. Rooms were spacious. Nice selection of channels on TV. Only 3 min drive to entrance to Acadia National Park

The room itself is a little dated.
