The Suites Hotel at Waterfront Plaza

Staff was friendly and attentive; room rates were good; received two free tickets for happy hour at the brewery in the same building; ability to use kitchen if needed (in room). The suite was large and comfortable.

Our room needed to be updated. Bathroom wallpaper looked like it was very old, discolored in places, coming off at the bottom. A refresh would be all that is needed. Kitchen was not stocked for cooking or eating; one fork in the entire drawer, very few glasses, coffee cups. No wine glasses. And they implement an $.81 per night per person onto the bill as a "safe fee" in CASE one of you uses their safe. We didn't, yet the charge was on there. I had to email the property after we left to have it reversed. Amounted to almost $4.00.

Loved how close we were to all of the shops and locations we wanted to see. We only used our vechile to drive to two places further out of town. Otherwise we walled everywhere.

I understand it's a family hotel but the hockey families just did not care at all. Ignored the signs clearly stating no sticks in the hotel, kids were running and stomping and being obnoxious. They basically took over and didn't care to tell their kids to be respectful. One kid even sneezed on me while in line for breakfast and the only response I got was kids sometimes right? And then the mom proceeded to still be in my bubble with her coughing sneezing kid. I love kids and family friend places, but they aren't above basic human respect regardless if their whole team is at the hotel.

The hotel is a renovated old warehouse. This turn on the century all concrete structure is really cool and very quiet. I'm sure the uniqueness of the building made room design a challenge. Our suite had a kitchen, couch and bedroom. The TV in the living are was on the wall 90 degrees from the couch, ad the couch was 1 foot from that wall. The same in the bedroom. Good thing we had things planned in Duluth and didn't watch TV. We had it on for morning news, that was about it. The breakfast is incredible.

I was a little hesitant of this hotel after reading some of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised once we arrived. They allowed pets, which was a plus for us. Our dogs did really well & loved sleeping in the king size bed! Personally I loved the old building & unique design. Our studio had a full kitchen & everything we needed. The free breakfast was pretty good with more options than most hotels (especially post covid). It also seemed like they were short staffed but they were also super busy! Even so, we didn't have to wait too long for check in/out. And you can't beat the location!

I wouldn't day there's anything I didn't like as there are always things out of your control, and expected when staying in a hotel. Like, we could hear others going in/out of their rooms & in the hallway like they were in our room (thin walls). But again, that's expected.

Location was close to the lake walk and within walking distance to Bentleyville lights. We parked in the overflow lot and it was validated. The building houses restaurants and a brewery which was nice to have food so close. The pool was heated and clean. The staff were friendly and the rooms are suites so the extra kitchen space was what we were looking for.

The elevator was broken by the last day of our stay. The wall paper in the bathroom was coming off the wall. Breakfast choices by the last day of our stay we're not the best.

They have a fantastic location, you can walk anywhere in Canal Park; the building is really neat, I like the warehouse vibe; the swimming area is fantastic with pool, sauna, hot tub and kidding pool. Breakfast is good, they have a lot of options. Parking voucher for the lot across the street. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Its a dog friendly hotel, too.

The beds are a little hard, and the most recent room we stayed in smelled of lingering cigarette smoke. Not heavily, just that you could tell someone smoked in there, even though it's a non-smoking room/building.

I loved the location, it is right down town and perfect if you don't want to drive everywhere. The breakfast at this hotel is surprisingly good for a continental breakfast. I also really liked our room, we just got a basic king size bed room but it had a full kitchen!

The walls are very thin. We could hear people throughout the night and all during the day which sucked. We were across the way from a group of young boys who continued to slam doors and yell any chance they got. We called security and it was taken care of right away.

Building is a former warehouse which makes for some unique architecture and structural components to work around in the rooms. I love that they didn’t try to hide the “bones” of the building which are super cool to see. Internet was fast. I have seen other other reviews about room conditions being bad, but mine was clean. I was on the 4th floor.

The only complaint might be the elevators had a bit of an odor (hotel is pet friendly after all), but not off putting. Breakfast was meh.

From the start everything went well. We were able to check in a bit ahead of time. Our room was very spacious and the big refrigerator was a plus. There were a number of dogs as guests, but we never heard them at night. The location to Canal Park and the restaurants and shops was excellent. We did a lot of walking and were always able to make it back to the hotel while not worrying about our safety.

The bed could have been a bit more comfortable.

The woman working the breakfast station on 2/27/22 was extremely courteous, efficient, hard working, & kind. We came down @ 6:30 AM before breakfast was scheduled to be served at 7 AM. I politely asked if she would mind if we made a waffle. She said we could and very much appreciated me asking first. To me it was just common courtesy to ask her.

The walls seem to be paper thin. You could hear everything from the traffic and pedestrians down below, and people walking down the hallway and slamming their doors. We were located on the third floor.
