The Pine Lodge on Whitefish River, Ascend Hotel Collection

great location for visiting whitefish. take the bikes to downtown and get dinner. what a treat! we absolutely loved kayaking the river. it’s a class zero adventure to the lake. it was the best part of our stay. Dog friendly which is nice. the staff are fantastic, well trained and the place is run efficiently and most of the staff were cross trained so that was nice (no, “I don’t know ask the front desk”) cookies and popcorn available at certain times of the day! Yum FYI the keys unlock any bike or any kayak. even though the key will say Bike 2 it will unlock any bike. Overall pretty good value for the money.

Soccer tournament stayed there while we were there. not a big deal cuz we like kids but the pool and hot tub were full of kids. it’s also a tad expensive but I think that’s just the Whitefish market. It’s on a busy street and walking downtown is probably not for most people. you can take the river trail (about a mile to downtown) where there are lots of restaurants (we ride bikes with no problem)

The front desk staff was amazing, very helpful, friendly and very nice. The rooms were nice and the bed comfortable. The location was great for a short walk to town. The sausage gravy and biscuits were delicious. I’m not a large breakfast eater so it was perfect for me.

Being charged $15 a day for hotel amenities that I wasn’t aware of until I got my bill. I booked through booking,com and it wasn’t mentioned. We didn’t use the bikes nor the kayaks. This should be a charge only if used not to every patron and say their free on check-in because actually their not free.

The location is close to activities in the area and Glacier National park. They offer quite a variety of extras from cookies to kayaks. The pool is beautiful located be to the river. The rooms are nice with ample enough pillows and blankets. Ours did not have a balcony but the beds were super cozy and soft, so definitely made up for it. 100% recommend Pine lodge for a family vacation or friends trip.

Not much I can say about what we didn’t like. The room had very minor wall repair if I had say anything.

Great staff. So friendly. Very comfortable room (they upgraded us to a river view). Good breakfast. Love the options to heat up egg sandwich or breakfast burrito. More hotels that don't offer a full breakfast should do this as it is much nicer than only bagels or pastries.

Cost was really high and extra resort charge seems unnecessary given the high cost. While they offer a pool, some free snacks and some activities, not sure it warrants an additional fee on top of a very high room cost. (This was tourist season- but still seemed high).

Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Good Location.

We did not have our room cleaned for two days. First time I figured it was a mistake. Then it happened a 2nd time. I went to front desk and told them. They expressed concern and had someone come and empty trash cans and gave us what we needed as far as coffee etc. We did not put any hanger saying not to clean it. Maybe they were short handed which could happen.

The pool was very nice and the chairs around it were great. The breakfast was very average - no eggs or fresh pancakes/waffles but some fruit, cereal, etc. the bikes were only 1 gear but they did have e-bikes for rent. The kayaks were great and there were a lot of them. They had free washers and dryers which were very helpful. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The location is also great.

The hotel was nice no complaints. We used the shuttle all 3 days to get downtown due to the distance and weather. Driver on second night dropped us off in a parking lot 3 blocks from restaurant we gave address for. Normally not a problem but in freezing sleet storm I wasn't happy! No directions and other couple on van going to same restaurant we were all soaked by the time we finally found restaurant. I have to mention both other nights we were dropped off in front of restaurant like you should be

Amazing staff, complimentary bicycles and kayaks, great location. Popcorn and cookies at all hours! They switched rooms for us at my request. Staff could not have been better, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Noisy neighbors but that was not the hotel's fault and they handled it well.I am a coffee snob and although they provided complimentary coffee espresso would have been great. Rooms facing the road were a bit noisy because of traffic if you are a light sleeper, didn't bother my husband.

we had room 112. right on edge of hot tub area. we could tie up our puppy right there. enjoy hot tub and keep and eye on her. ground floor that leads out to a grassy area. perfect for puppy. comfortable king bed with fridge coffee maker and sofa. outside we sat on the River bank. amazing walks and could walk dog off leash until sidewalk. perfect place. would stay again next time we go to whitefish to golf.

wish it had hot breakfast but free cold was good coffee was always on and hot!!:)

Staff were friendly and attentive. Rooms were clean and comfy. Pool, hot tub and other common areas were always clean and tidy. Great extended continental breakfast as it included some packaged items that could be heated. They accommodated my request for a room with a view. I really enjoyed listening to and watching the birds and water fowl each morning. Rental kayaks are a nice touch. (Although they weren't out for us the first week of May.)

Wish the hot tub outdoors had jets. Ran out of shampoo & conditioner that wasn't replaced when our room was cleaned. No doggy bags for pet area.
