Nice, beautiful old charm Inn- former old time family estates with beautiful outdoor and view. Kind of drive deep in a Mountains but worth it as a view is beautiful along the way, Rhododendrons in full bloom along the way in July - the time of our trip to Blue Ridge Mountains, though would avoid to drive at night in a dark , as deer are there! Staff is friendly. it was very quiet , seemed the only few quests were there. Rooms -clean, linens -fresh and bed was pretty comfortable- it was nice sleep. Restaurant is on site but open just for Th-Sun and closed for the rest of the week. Unfortunately it is no any food station available on a site, even no vending machine. Also no fridge , no microwave in a room- a little bit inconvenient , so get some snack ready upon arriving or so. Continental breakfast was very limited like "bag and go"- seems they are still under covid19 precautions and shortage of staff. I would also wanted to mention the thing that disappointed the most that the back door leads to our hallway/room location was never locked and it was open even at night time. Despite it is very quiet and I strongly believe is safe location I would bring management attention to it and the back door should be locked with key code available for guests. Other than that it was great stay for me and my husband and we did enjoy it! Would like to come back some day and hope the management will make some changes by that time.

back door entrance never locked and stay open all the time even at night time. no microwave/fridge in a room. very limited continental breakfast.

The grounds, location. Our room overlooked the tree tops it felt like we were sleeping in a tree house. It was clean, and beds were comfy. The restaurant food was very good, loved the charming atmosphere. The bartender made a great Old Fashion. The sunset view was nice. Would definitely stay again. We stayed for the Grandfather Mtn. Highland games.

Our first room assignment was down 2 flights of stairs beside the smoking porch 😞. Fortunately, the front desk was willing to change us to a ground level entrance. The Inn could use a bit of TLC.

The location was as promised, from our room we looked right out at the trees. The two receptionists, Cassidy and Kristine, worked to make our stay pleasant. I wanted to purchase handcrafted trees like displayed on the receptionist desk. Cassidy went out of her way during our two night stay to "track" them down, and I was able to purchase before leaving. The two of them worked to improve our WIFI reception. Breakfast was very good, and you took it to your room. The grounds were beautiful and wonderful for walks.

We will be honest that a wedding was taking place when we arrived, and as two weary travelers, the reception of very loud music and people's conversations was a bit much. Receptionist Cassidy assured us that the wedding would be ending shortly. Our room was situated at the end of a hallway which greatly helped. Once we were settled it was Ok, and we understand they also host weddings, but it was just a bit disconcerting initially. The rest of the stay was wonderful, and the staff was very accommodating.

Beautiful location in the mountains; lovely spa area with pool, steam room, corn hole game areas, lots of seating inside and out... there are also restrooms and showers, a fitness room equipped with yoga essentials and a small gym. The bedroom was comfortable, very simple with two king beds, desk with chair, beside tables, Keurig, phone and cable television. I loved the forest views through all windows and around us outside, it is a gorgeous area. The breakfast is basic with choices of coffee, tea, cocoa, and bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt. There is a nice restaurant between the Inn and Spa, looks great but we didn't eat there. Fyi you do need to reserve a table ahead. We also chose this location because it is only 15 min from downtown Boone and ASU which was the main reason for our visit, my son will be moving there for college this fall. Lastly, the customer service was amazing, everyone there was friendly and helpful. The area was quiet and relaxing, not a place with a bunch of kids or the "party type."

The wifi/cell service in the room was terrible, but it was a good time to unplug. Too bad the sauna was out of service but my son and I like steam better anyway lol The breakfast options for gluten free, like myself, are very slim but I'm also not the big breakfast type. My son works out a lot at home and he was sad the fitness room didn't have a barbell or heavy weights, just some dumbbells and bench... apparently there wasn't enough weight for his strength but it was definitely better than nothing. I'd say it's great for people who work out recreationally but the bodybuilders would not be impressed by it.

The view, property, location all STUNNING. Sunset, bar, outdoor space, and people were wonderful. The room was very spacious. The restaurant was cute, but we didn't eat there. Staff very kind and welcoming. Amazing sunset view and quiet space to spend time outside.

The room was very spacious but outdated, not that clean, and VERY dark and the beds not comfortable. Breakfast was simple continental but didn't work with our dietary needs. The spa/pool/fitness were not that clean looking so we didn't use (during covid times this matters).

Location is off beaten path but takes less than 10 minutes from main streets. It's rustic but modern for a relaxing stay. It actually started as a family home for a prolific architect, seems like a home more than resort. Overall it's a real gem in the mountains of Boone, watched 2 deers under our deck each morning. They hold weddings, reunions and such with huge outdoor decks and also fine dining if interested

Short but very curvy road to resort, 2 miles off main road.

We rented a cottage. It was much more spacious than I expected. It was close to the main lodge and so it was just a quick walk to get our breakfast and coffee. Beautiful views. Our cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We went skiing at App which was a short drive from the Inn.

The mattress was uncomfortable. Could use a new mattress or at least a pillow/foam topper. The cottage has a kitchen but I wish some dish towels were included. We had paper towels but I hate wasting paper products when washing hands/dishes and cleaning counters. I didn't want to use the nice white bath towels because they would likely stain when cleaning food off dishes (we had spaghetti sauce).

The Brunch was a 5-star!! The room was good with the exception of the tub in the bathroom,, which needed a mat in it or something to grip to keep you from slipping and falling while showering. I put a towel in the center of the tub while showering, so my husband or I would not fall. That can be a dangerous situation.

There was no mat or any type of grip in the shower. No handle support when getting in or out of the shower. I had to put a towel in the tub, to prevent my husband and I from falling during a shower.

Great location! Beautiful scenery! I loved having a fitness room and pool. The restaurant was amazing and I loved the fire pit area!

It would be nice to have a full size coffee maker in the rooms. The sauna was out of order the whole weekend. I enjoyed a previous stay there with the breakfast buffet upstairs in the dining room. It needs more dishes to cook with in the kitchen.

friendly staff, accommodating, clean and cozy especially the fireplace! Love the location!!!

the INN is spread out so going to the pool in another building is cold at night walking back and forth. The message parlor was closed and was I looking forward to a nice message. Not complaining though. I love this INN!!!
