The Tranquil House Inn

We absolutely loved the location, view and overall cozy nature of the home. The rooms were spacious with vaulted ceilings. We were on the first floor, with a breezeway that connected to the parking lot and the water - perfect location. We also loved the key less entry made arrival and checkout extremely efficient and pain free. They had a simple, but delicious continental breakfast, complimentary bottled water during the day and afternoon wine/cheese. We enjoyed an appetizer from the onsite restaurant, delicious!

The only down side: we were on the first floor and heard every move from the floor above and when they ran water we heard a loud draining/clicking/knocking sound in our room. We would definitely stay here again, but on the highest floor.

Location was exceptional by being on the waterfront of downtown Manteo. Enjoyed the upstairs shared deck to chill and relax. Within walking distance of small shops, restaurants, Festival Park and Lighthouse. Property included continental breakfast, and featured a restaurant within the property for dinner (however, we did not have opportunity to eat there). The room was clean, bed comfortable and staff were very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. This location was within 3.5 miles of “The Lost Colony” outdoor play, and a short drive from Kitty Hawk/OBX.

The breakfast was good. Also appreciated the wine and cheese from 3-4. The bed was good. Loved the setting and liked to be able to walk around the waterfront.

No fridge. Some plugs in room 28 didn't work. When we would flush the toilet we were never sure it would flush properly. Maybe upgrade to a high efficiency/low water unit. Would be nice to have soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the shower.

We really enjoyed staying here, but breakfast was one area of contention! Only because the couple of days we stayed, we never could have breakfast because it began so late (8:30 A.M.) Each morning our plans for the day meant we were on the road by 7 A.M. The time of 8:30 to begin is the latest we have ever encountered in our travels! Even if it would have been 7:30 instead of 8:30, we probably would have bent our plans in order to have a breakfast bite because we always eat breakfast (unlike some)!

Sorry, the above should have been in this box! What we liked was the location, nice room, the outdoor deck overlooking water! Having a lounge available.

I loved that the rooms had hardwood floors, the room was very clean and spacious. It was really convenient having an easily accessible ice machine. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the happy hour in the afternoon, and the views!!!

The shower did not drain especially well. Also, the toilet paper holder did not hold the roll in place well. Other than that, no complaints!

The location on the waterfront in the historic town was wonderful. Awesome views of the marina and walking distance to the quaint shops and eateries nearby.

The continental breakfast was bare minimum. The only carbs were mini muffins and granola that was prepackaged in with yogurt and fruit. There were no other options for people with dietary restrictions. It would have been nice to have the option of plain bread or bagels.

The Inn is adorable and although we were in room 18 on the first floor facing the parking lot, we had no issues. The staff were all friendly and helpful and accommodating to requests. The location of the Inn on the water and walking distance to everything was wonderful.

I didn't realize there would be no daily maid service until our 2nd day! Somehow I missed that crucial info. It was fine in the end, and we were able to get whatever we needed at the front desk (but I do love fresh towels and a bathroom sweep on vacation.)

Our room was very nice and very clean. The only thing to complain about was that our room was on the third floor so carrying our luggage up three flights was no fun. We will definitely stay here again. Very close to activities, shopping and restaurants. We absolutely loved it!

the location was amazing and very convenient to sights. could easily walk to for needed items, very quiet and relaxing setting. free parking is always a bonus!

the breakfast wasn't really a breakfast at all, more like a assortment of interesting items. my bathroom could have been a little cleaner and more welcoming. you can tell it's an old establishment, so some of that adds to the charm but could use some reno.

Inn was beautiful with great harbor setting. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dinner on premise was delicious.

Breakfast was below average. Fresh fruit would help. The baked items were not appealing. Dry and processed muffins.
