I loved that there was always someone at the front desk. The breakfast selection was extensive- cold cereal, instant oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon. sausage, biscuits and gravy. There were also freshly made muffins, danish, and bread to toast. You could eat there or grab it to go which I was glad was an option twice during my 4 day stay. They had wine & cheese from 5-7 and then cookies (chocolate chip most nights) and milk (8 oz bottles) from 8-9 pm. Even though the stay wasn’t a vacation, these added things made it feel more enjoyable. The staff - those replenishing food in buffet breakfast, cleaning rooms and lobby/lounge area, and all the desk staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and genuinely hospitable. If I am back this way, I will definitely rebook. I used up the one K-cup of coffee (decaf, half caffeine and tea K-cups) and asked if I could get a second one. The young man came back with 4 of the full caffeine cups. From check-in to check-out, the staff really excelled.
My only issue was that it was a little noisy. The rooms are designed (an exposed pipe near ceiling to the next room which wasn’t “sealed.”. There was a gap and sound from the next room was clear as day. A little caulking around pipes and drywall might help with that.

everything! charming, rich and fascinating history. loved the wine and cheese reception in the cozy, cool lounge, and the milk and cookies for my son in a separate room. everything is well appointed and top attention to details. coziest beds ever! excellent recommendation for delicious Italian food at De Lisio’s. the ONLY negative is the same one all across this state—you’re all way behind the times: ditch the styrofoam and plastic carry out stuff! and no need to wrap your apples in plastic. who wants their apples handled that much? and it’s just plain backward to still be using plastic and styrofoam, plus it’s not classy.
just the styrofoam and plastic use.

The inn is incredibly charming! The rooms are spacious and quaint, the lounge is cozy and open for snacks, tea, or sitting 24/7. We loved the hot breakfast each morning and cheese & cookies each night. It was quiet even when others were using the lounge and at breakfast; the clientele was well mannered.
We had two full sized beds; the sheets seemed clean but white bedspread on my bed had tomato sauce stains on it. Not "baked in" stains but crusty recently-spilled stains in several places up by the pillows, as if housekeeping had changed the sheets but not washed the bedspread. There were also dried coffee spills going down one of the walls near the desk. Surprising details for such a nice place to overlook.

The helpfulness and availability of folks at the front desk. They were always cheerful, always told us goodbye when we headed out for the day and always asked how our day went when we got back. The servers at breakfast were exceptional, smiling, asking if we needed anything, and clearing tables in a timely manner
Our room was a cold 55 degrees when we arrived. I'm very cold natured, so I felt like I was in an ice box. We turned it up, but the temp never got over 65 in there. That part was miserable to me. We told folks at the front desk, but I have no idea if anyone ever looked into the problem or not.

loves the hotel in general! my boyfriend and I were just doing a weekend staycation randomly around new years chose to make reservations for here at very last minute upon arrival found out they are a Wyndham hotel so I used my rewards then you are offered complementary wine and cheese then later milk and cookies. the suite was excellent but having a whole living room bedroom and bathroom you’d think they would install more of a kitchenette section but it was beautiful so we will be returning! very high ceilings 🥰
no enough kitchenette and the suite was very warm due to no fans available

The building is phenomenal, easy to find, great location, and well kept. Lots of history, and the staff was amazing. Everyone was friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
My only complaint is the bed. It was like sleeping in a hot marshmallow -- the longer you laid there, the more it sucked you in and the hotter it got. If it weren't for the ghosts and my companions, I would have stripped down and slept on top of the blankets.

Such a beautiful, historic hotel. I love out of the ordinary places to stay, and this was definitely it. Staff was very nice. Love the look of the place. Room was clean. Very quiet too. Did not get to do any of the complimentary wine and cheese, or cookies and milk (we were at a concert) but complimentary breakfast was nice. We did not stay here long, but I definitely want to come back and stay for more than one night.
Historic = old boiler system. I get it because I worked in an old hotel with the same thing. Our room was pretty hot when we got there (it was 90 outside and 80 in our room ) so we turned it down. When we got back that night, it had cooled down some. I’m glad they have ceiling fans, because I’m always hot lol but keep this in mind if you don’t like being stuffy at times. One pillow was too hard, and the other too soft, but I am picky about pillows. :)

This is a beautiful property with spacious and clean rooms. Loved the cookies and milk in the evenings. This may need to be a new tradition at home! Staff was very helpful. The breakfast was delicious. We were needing a location near the hospital because my sister was having surgery. This was convenient to hospital and many locations. We plan on returning when we can take advantage of all of the restaurants near the property!

The hotel was beautiful and the breakfast, wine and cheese reception were wonderful. Patio was beauitful.
The location could have been better but it was in a safe and quiet area. The hot water took forever to get warm. The beds were not very comfortable. There was a private party going on the evening we were there so we were unable to enjoy the beautiful patio area.

We are a family of six. Four of the six are children. We stayed in one of the family suites and it was so spacious for our size of family. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were very clean. We enjoyed the old feel and decor of the historic building.
The only thing negative is the sofa bed was very uncomfortable for the two older kids. However, most sofas beds are not comfortable to begin with.
