The staff was amazing! Their care for every detail during our stay made all the difference!

Lots of pets in neighboring rooms. A poor dog barked for more than an hour after 9 pm.

An awesome building with lots of character and great amenities. The game room was awesome. The rooms a comfy, clean, and very nice. The hotel is perfectly located to enjoy the restaurants and nightlife of downtown Winston Salem.

Check your bill at checkout and then check again later. Our bill had a valet charge at checkout even though we didn't even have a car with us and didn't use the valet. And then a couple days later some mini bar charges showed up even though we did not touch the in room mini bar.

Absolutely love this hotel! It is our second stay and so happy we stayed here again with our soccer team. It was a great place for our boys to have to hangout during down time. They loved being in the rec room and playing chess. Housekeeping and the front desk was great. The gym is well equipped and the restaurant was great the 3 times we went!

this hotel was formerly the headquarters of RJ Reynolds Tobacco co and the building itself, is a smaller rendition of the Empire State bldg. very cool details, beautiful rooms, fabulous restaurant in Katherine’s Bistro, but above all, the people who work there, especially Rae at the front desk and her colleagues, as well as the friendly waitstaff and amazing chef in the bistro, we’re absolutely the friendliness and we felt they genuinely WANTED us to have fun in their town! LOVE it!

The front desk staff at the Kimpton Cardinal hotel were EXTREMELY kind and helpful and made our stay that much more exciting. The hotel itself is beautiful and well thought out, with the rooms being ornate and private. Being able to bring my dog with no extra charge and seeing the bed and bowls they laid out for us in the room made everything 10 times better. I have also never seen a hotel with so many amenities from the basketball court to the bowling lanes, and although I personally did not get the chance to use them, my boyfriend said the basement was amazing. Thank you to the friendly staff who keeps this hotel running - we had a wonderful time!

The only thing that could use improvement is that we could hear the room above us talking clear as day through the vent above the shower so it was just a little awkward.

We liked everything about the property but note about Winston Salem don’t know if it was because it was off season but TON of stuff was closed on Sunday which was our only day there so that was a bummer but luckily the hotel was nice so we didn’t mind just hanging out there

The hotel was in a great location, close to shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly, from the valet attendant when we arrived to everyone we interacted with inside the hotel. The free late afternoon drink in the lobby was a pleasant surprise! The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean.

The hallway was a little noisy, but I think it was because our room was close to the elevators. It quieted down early so I can't really complain about it.

Such a nice hotel, loved the coffee & wine in the lobby. Great staff. I love that it’s walkable to so many downtown Winston hotspots. I will definitely come back!

this is coming from a person that would travel with my furry friends; however, when I’m not, I don’t want to be out in a room that is used for pet stays! our room smelled like dog urine…. please have dedicated rooms for animals!
