Best Western Gettysburg

A great location, allowing you to enjoy just about everything there is to enjoy, within walking distance, in the heart of Gettysburg, PA.  Third story breakfast lounge allows you a perfect view of the union occupied, cemetery hill and ridge line as well as a portion of the Emmitsburg Road where pickets charge took place.

Most all of the rooms do not have a view of the battlefield with the exception of possibly three I believe.  however, I do not consider this a major setback as I am not sitting in my room, staring outside the windows all day as I am engaged in the history that Gettysburg has to offer for 98% of my stay there.  If there is anything negative that I can say about this hotel is that it only has one elevator for all the occupants. Again, not a major setback.

There was a very kind gentleman who welcomed us in. Parking was free. The best was super comfy. The room and bathroom was large and very, very clean. The air conditioning worked amazing. We were able to walk everywhere easily. The coffee in the lobby out of a machine was surprisingly delicious! They also have snacks and toiletries in the lobby if you need to pick something up. My son worked out at the gym and said it was small but had everything you needed. Very pleased with our stay. Would highly recommend.

The walls were a little thin - or we just had very noisy hotel neighbors.

Traveled there my brother, husband, and sister-in-law; was impressed with the breakfast as my brother and I are diabetics and had some concern if we would have to go somewhere else or if there was enough to satifiy our diets. The breakfast was great and we did not have to worry. Our was great also, due to us being all Senior Citizens all the stores and attractions was within simple walking distance,

The only problem was that there was only four handicapped parking places, other than that it was great. Housekeeping didn't empty garbage at all during our stay (3 Days), we disposed it in the hallway cans.

I had a great stay in a spacious and clean room with a Smart TV. The room also had a mini fridge and microwave, which was very convenient. The beds were very comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was delicious and had a good variety of items such as eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes, muffins, toast, English muffins, cold cereals, yogurts, juice, and coffee. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, which made my stay even better. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of all the attractions and had ample parking. Overall, it was a great experience.

The only drawback, for me, was the gym's size. It had only one treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, weight set, and another machine, which meant waiting for your turn.

It was at the edge of downtown Gettysburg, so it was very walkable, but not noisy. It’s across from cemetery hill. Gettysburg heritage museum is right next-door. Staff were excellent and very helpful.  Having breakfast included was a perk. My husband was happy that there was coffee constantly available in the lobby.

Due to staffing problems, there is a sign that the room will not be cleaned or beds made each day unless requested. Not what I had hoped for when booking a room but it wouldn’t deter us from staying there again. The only suggestion I would make is that they provide scrambled rather than fried eggs at breakfast, because the yolks get hard from sitting. However, there was a variety of items to choose from.

The room was spacious & spotless, very tastefully decorated. I was worried being on the first floor but I never heard a sound from the lobby or outside. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve found in any hotel! And definitely the most delicious coffee😀

1) The bed! The mattress sagged terribly and the sheets felt old & worn, I could actually feel the texture of the thread and had a very hard time getting comfortable, barely slept the first night. Also, the blanket was so thin, I froze all night even though I kept adjusting the room temp. I asked for a second blanket the second night & slept much better. 2) The shower head is so high, by the time the water hit my 5’6” high head, the spray went everywhere..couldn’t keep the shampoo out of my eyes

We were visiting to go snowboarding and stayed here. The bed was big and comfy. The bathroom was clean and I didn't see hair from past guests/cleaners. The curtains were proper black out curtains. Breakfast was really good too. They had this pancake machine that made 2 pancakes in a minute. Plus free coffee and tea in the lobby! I've stayed in sooo many budget places and this was by far the best. Plus you're less than a 3 min drive from the battlefields and no more than 10 minutes away from everything else related to Gettysburg history.

Surprisingly I feel everything was great. The walls were a touch thin. But that's it.

The suite was very spacious with a separate bedroom with doors and an additional queen size bed in the main room and a sofa bed. The beds were nice and firm. The hotel was at the perfect location for us to walk around the area.

The couch did not face the television so we had to watch on the one bed. There was a fresh looking spot on a sheet. The breakfast room was small and difficult to move around in. The young staff member had trouble keeping the items replenished with many guests every morning. The eggs were unappealing disks. My family wasn't very happy with crowd and limited offerings. The bedroom pocket doors were squeaky and difficult to move. Pull out bed was so bad had to be slept on as couch but this seems to be a common problem at hotels.

The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, the fitness center and pool appeared well kept although we had so much to do in town we didn't have to use them. Walking distance to town and train museum and restaurants. Breakfast room overlooks battlefield on third floor.

Included breakfast did not have many low carb options, but was great otherwise. This was my only observation that could be improved, maybe some yogurt that isn't non-fat would be a good option to add. Eggs and sausage were good.

we booked a queen bedroom suite for our family of 5. the suite was perfect for our needs. it was very clean. the staff was supper nice and the breakfast had something for everyone in our party. the pool was a hit with our 7 yr old granddaughter. it also was within walking distance of the military park ( right across the road) and the Gettysburg cemetery. we found it wonderful to walk across the road for an early morning bit of exercise and pay respects to those who gave their lives there.

honestly I can’t think of anything that would need improved upon.
