The location was great, really nice bedrooms and communal area downstairs. Very quiet and comfortable. The extensive coffee and tea making facilities downstairs was well replenished and had many flavours to choose from.

This is not a huge negative comment but perhaps a note for improvement? Upon check in we were asked if we had any food alergies. No one had food alergies but there are some things some of us just don't eat. Like red meat, bread etc. So when declining the cooked breakfast that included bacon, I was delivered french toast. I don't eat bread but there was no option to actually ask for something else. I was given scambled eggs the previous morning and that was fine. So the french toast was wasted and the chef had to make something else for me. Also offering wine for guests to help themselves is great but at least make the wine drinkable???

Perfect blend of historic decor/furnishings and modern conveniences, like flat screen TVs and glass showers.

I had a problem with the wifi. The manor's computers all worked fine, but I couldn't stay connected with my laptop. Staff helped me out on their computer so I could download maps I needed. But a guest that arrived during my stay said she had trouble too--she couldn't read on her iPad because the connection was bad. Weird issue, and not a deal breaker by any means, but maybe someone could investigate and fix the wifi problem.

The number one thing that caught my attention was the cleanliness! Exceptional cleanliness and amazing friendly staff! We also enjoyed meeting other people that were staying in the B&B.

Everything was wonderful

This place was perfect in every way!! The location was incredible - you could walk right down the street to many shops and restaurants. The house itself is simply gorgeous, my room was beautiful and there was even a little fireplace that gave off heat if you needed it! The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast FAR exceeded my expectations, as well as the friendliness of the staff. Complimentary wine and coffee really made the value increase even more. It was so quiet in the house, even with multiple people staying there, and the library was an extra bonus! I loved staying here because It was like stepping back in time... really took my Gettysburg experience to the next level. I honestly did not want to leave. I HIGHLY recommend it, and I will be coming back soon!!

Check-in was a tiny bit confusing, but you just walk in the back entrance (there's a sign that says Guest Check-In) and kind of holler or wait to run into the staff on duty :) There's also a place called The Brafferton Inn a couple houses down, and I think the pictures are the same online, so I was a bit confused about that before I arrived. Also, there is a big parking garage right behind Swope Manor, which is nice and close, but it's a paid garage (obviously) so the only downside was paying $24 for two overnights at the garage. There might be ways around that though.

The home was absolutely beautiful, and our room was very cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing each morning!! Jason, the inn keeper, was so helpful and informative on ideas for interesting things to do during our stay. We would definitely come back and stay there again.

Very minor item, but the water cooler was empty on our last night there.

The breakfast was delicious and filling - we didn't have to eat for awhile and that was great as we were exploring the town. The staff was very friendly and the nice woman who waited on us gave us a lot of information about the town. The house was gorgeous and we had a very spacious suite. Loved the whole experience and wished we could have stayed longer.

There was a bit of a mixup on the date we were coming - I had to call and change the date to a day earlier because my friend couldn't get off work and I guess they forgot to note it. When we arrived, there was no one at the house. I called and someone did arrive within the hour - we had lunch while we were waiting. The manager was apologetic and it didn't negatively affect our stay at all.

It’s a magnificent old home with many beautifully furnished rooms, steeped in the history of Gettysburg. Our room was fantastic, the staff were as kind and helpful as could be, and the location is within a minute’s walk of the very center of town. Truly phenomenal!

Nothing; it’s a perfect old manor. We would live there if we could.

We had a late check in and the lady we talked to was very kind. The instructions she gave us got us into our room without any issues. The room was clean and inviting. The bed was very comfortable. The sign in book in the room was a nice touch. It was interesting to read where other guests were from. Breakfast was delicious and the staff wonderful. We will definitely book again.

The forward room (Gettysburg Suite) was large and beautiful, but noisy. Unfortunately it faced a main truck route- 18 wheelers all night!!

The breakfast was wonderful, the staff was friendly and helpful. We liked our room it was a bit warm in the room the first night, but it seemed to cool off the second night. We love the cold so prefer a cooler room but all being said it was a beautiful B&B and we plan to return again next Fall if not sooner. Two days is just not enough time to spend in Gettysburg especially when you are a history buff. There is just so much to see in Gettysburg it is not only a lovely town so rich in history it was a get away that we thoroughly enjoyed. I must also mention that we both were amazed at how friendly everyone was, just so heartwarming. We hated to leave. We stopped at the National Cemetery on our way out of the town to pay our respects to the brave men of the Civil War and to all of the dear brave men an women that are buried there. We are so very grateful for their service. May they all rest in peace so very humbled by the entire experience.
