I recommend it in every aspect.

Everything was fine and the staff was wonderful, with the exception of the worker Quinn who shouts when communicating and letting me know that I had made a mistake, although I admit my mistake in the schedule, it was not the way to address me like that, I saw that other clients did not They complied with the lodging rules and he didn't say anything to them, when I was going to pay the lodging he started yelling at me, I agree that attention should be drawn but NOT SCREAMING! He also didn't apologize when I explained, totally rude. Afterwards, the Hostel is very good about recommending it, I only make that exception and I also contacted the owners to let them know what happened.

Located in the old city, and is just a couple minutes from a subway station to get to places. Good kitchen where you can cook your food. I came with multiple consecutive bookings (one of the nights had been initially sold out but I caught it later when someone canceled) - and the staff were so nice as to combine them all for my stay, so that I didn't have to check out and in again, gathering all my stuff. Can store luggage after check-out.

The dining area is also the only common area in the building with the reception desk, so it gets a bit too loud there. There's a quieter lounge/common area in a different building but I never went to check it out.

All facility were designed well for shared-facility. The provide dimming light in the room so people won't disturb other room mate. They also provide Locker for security of your stuffs (don't forgot to bring your own grid lock). The bathroom were clean. The shared facility downstairs is perfect. People were enjoyed and it's really comfortable to hangout there so we get a chance to mingle with other guests. The staffs also available for 24hr, so there will be no problem if you're arrived in he middle of the night.

The vending & coffee machine only serves with cash. It would be perfect if we can also pay by cards. But don't worry, just brings some cash, the staff are welcome to provide yo some changes.

The last time I was here was 2 years ago for July 4th. I stayed in the older building. This time in the newer building in the "Rocky Wing". The theme from rocky is stuck in my head now, lol but that's ok cause nothing says Philly like Liberty Bell, cheese steaks, Ben Franklin and Rocky. I thought 2 days would be enough since I only live in New York City but nope should have stayed longer. Instead of going to DC for turkey Day I might stay in Philly. Already made another booking for it.

I have trouble going up and down stairs due to my arthritis but I took my time. Luckily I was just on the second floor.

Staff were very nice, and the free drinks on both evenings that I were there (longdrinks the first and beer the second night) definitely helped to create a nice atmosphere! Located very centrally, most interesting places in Philadelphia are within walking distance, and for the rest, the Market-Frankford Line is very close. The hostel was clean, had a well-equipped kitchen and it was always quiet in the dorm.

While all the other beds were set up against the wall, one of the bunk beds in my 10-bed dorm was standing basically in the middle of the room and I had to take this one. I did not really like this set-up, even though otherwise, amenities in the dorm were good. The only other point is that the showers could have been cleaned more often.

They had a lot of available amenities and the staff were all nice. They let me dry my clothes for free after I got soaked in the rain :) Nice lobbies. Pretty good location. They provide a towel and lockers (but no locks).

The bunk beds are terrible. Flimsy unstable metal. Being on the top bunk, every time the person below me moved at all it would sway/vibrate for a minute. Not a lot of space to put things like your phone and a book while you sleep—anything on the bed will fall through the bars. I don’t know if they’re all like this but I was given the hardest pillow I’ve ever seen. Where does one even buy a pillow that hard. It was really uncomfortable and I slept pretty poorly every night.

By some distance the nicest hostel I've ever stayed at. Everything has been considered, supplied and kept in perfect order. The location could not be better, a few meters from the main drag but just tucked away enough to insure a peaceful night's sleep. Above all the hostel is a happy, sociable and fun environment. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

You are asked to wash, dry and return any kitchen implements that you may use. Most guests do this. But of course there are still a few who leave there cruddy bits and bobs for the poor staff to deal with. But the hard working staff are on it, dirty things are not there long and the kitchen is kept spotless. Being on the top was a bit of a pain after a night 'on the town' but the Rocky soundtrack playing in the background made me chuckle and was inspirational. Problem was, I'm old enough to remember Rocky I.

As far as hostels go, this is a good one. Very well located, and dorms are not crowded, space between beds, privacy. Generally enforce rules on genuine travelers only. Free hard drinks at 9 pm, I am not much of a dtinkers but some would sure appreciate. Nice kitchen.

They charge for coffee. I though that a bit low, and it isn't even good. Two buildngs across the street from each other, a bit inconvenient. Staff, i was there three days and literally each time I pass the desk a new person was there. They varied in their oevel of knowledge and enthusiams. Some were brilliant, but some a bit on the indifferent side.

I loved the lounge areas downstairs. It was a very comfortable experience to just hangout and eat ice cream before going upstairs to bed. Also definitely appreciate they had cups for water because I was THIRSTY.

I think it would be nice to have more bed options (in the 18 dorm) that were like a little more private. Maybe having more curtain to pull for the bed that is almost right in front of the doorway. (Or maybe turn the bed to have more again the wall if possible.) Also they keep the room on the warm end in case you like sleeping in the cold.

The place is so happy and friendly. The vibes are amazing, everything here is carefully planned to make the guests experience the best possible. The lounge has board and card games, pool table and a piano. I arrived on a Friday, and they had free beer in the lounge for the guests. You can leave you luggage there for free, which is amazing. I arrived by 6am and the check in was only at 4pm, I just left my luggage and went out to enjoy the city. The kitchen is big, clean, organized and has absolutely everything you need to cook your meals during your stay. You can store your food in plastic bins with name tags and there’s also a bin of free food. Being honest, the free food bin saved me, I was late and picked some goldfish to eat on my way to the train station. The 18 bed female shared room is very big, personal space is respected and its comfy. 18 is a big number of beds, I was expecting it to be chaotic, crowded and uncomfortable, but I was completely wrong. The bathroom wasn’t a problem even with the big number of guests in the same room. Even near the checkout time I could calmly take a shower, wash and dry my hair and get myself ready to leave. The friendly and chill vibes are truly amazing in this place. I came from a terrible experience in NYC and being here in this good and comfortable environment made me forget about it. I’m truly impressed, thank you so much Apple Hostel for such a great experience.
