- Safety: The hostel felt secure, which was reassuring for a foreign travellor - Vending Machines & Dining: Stocked daily and perfect for late-night cravings; nearby restaurants added to the convenience. - Impeccable Kitchen: One of the best-maintained communal kitchens—clean, fully stocked, and well-organized. - Spotless Bathrooms: Spacious and consistently well-kept. - Cozy Chill Area: Ground-floor space with charging points, ideal for relaxing or working. - Friendly Staff: Warm and welcoming, adding a personal touch. - Stylish Vibe: The Rocky-themed staircase music was a fun, memorable detail.

Though I loved this Hostel, here are my suggestions on what could be improved: - Shower Issues: Though the bathrooms are clean and spacious, the low water pressure and lukewarm hot water made showers less comfortable. - Self-Service Bed Setup: Collecting towels and linens at check-in felt inconvenient after a long journey. - No Lift: Carrying luggage up four floors was exhausting. - Outdated Plugs: Adding Type-C plug options would better serve for travellers. - Water Filters: Installing filters on each floor would save guests from hauling water bottles upstairs. - Dorm Privacy: Adding bed curtains would enhance privacy and create a pod-like feel. - Bed Quality: Squeaky beds disrupted sleep—regular maintenance is needed.

First of all, the four days we spent in Philadelphia with my friend were great and one of the reasons for this was the friendly people we met in the hostel. Everyone working in the hostel was very friendly, especially Gamze, who helped us with everything and gave us tips about the city and had a great conversation. She was very sincere and friendly. Since the hostel is close to the city center, we did not use any public transportation and there are markets and restaurants near the hostel. The hostel was clean and fun. In the evening, everyone met each other and chatted. I am sure that if I come to Philadelphia again, I will stay in this hostel again. Thank you to everyone who was helpful.

The location was great, many tourist spots, if not all, were in walkable distance. The rooms were nice and even though we had to keep the windows open, it was relatively quiet outside. The kitchen was clean and the people were really friendly! The were some events for most evenings like pub tours or an open bar for half an hour, that was pretty nice!

There is no elevator which can be very annoying if you have heavy luggage like I had. Luckily I only had to go to the second floor, and I think there are only 3-4 floors, but still this is something to consider as I had some trouble getting my luggage to my room.

This is a great budget option in the historical district. Location is close to a bunch of museums and sights as well as restaurants and bars and easy to reach by metro and bus. It was easy to get to the rest of Philadelphia. I booked the family room for myself so obviously I had plenty of space. I also found the bed extremely comfortable and slept really well there. The hostel kitchen is spacious and usually not crowded, so there is room to prepare meals. There's also a vending machine if needed and a pool table and board games. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It was really useful to be able to do laundry for 5$ including detergent.

Biggest downside was no elevator so had to lug my bag up 2 flights. Also it's sometimes loud (it is a hostel) and the fridge was packed with food so it was hard to find space in it.

The property was easy to locate very clean and bright . The toilet and shower area was spotless .I liked that the toilet and shower area were in different rooms it ment they were never to busy and provided extra privacy. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and had a great sleep only negative was dorm got a little stuffy during the night with 6 guests good to have lockable lockers in dorm.The staff were exceptional friendly and helpful a girl from Istanbul always stopped to chat and see how my stay was .Michael went above and beyond with all the guests his local knowledge and genuine interest in the visiting guests have insured that I will be booking my next stay in Philly at the Apple hostel.

Very little ! Dorm needs more fresh air with six adults in a room it got hot and stuffy.

For a hostel at this price, it really exceeded my expectations. It had all the facilities I could ask for (including ironing board, free tea and creamer, shower gel, etc.). Even location-wise, it was situated in the Old city of Philadelphia which was a walking distance from the museums and almost all the tourist attractions I was interested in. Even the staff members were really helpful. It also organised special evenings for the hostel guests (I couldn't attend any because of work, but they were very thoughtful).

All was well.

The property is in a decent area of the city. Near the Liberty Bell, and other historic sites. The property is very clean and safe with card access.

There are no elevators and being a senior going up a staircase to the third floor is a bit of an effort. It's the first hostel that I have stayed at that doesn't offer breakfast or even coffee for that matter. My other issue is with the fact that the beds aren't made. The guest has to make the bed. Once again the only hostel that I have encountered that. No real service provided Covid is over we are beyond the restriction that were imposed during the pandemic. The front desk employees are friendly but need to be trained on a number of things such as train service, where to get a sandwich and a cup of coffee

I really liked the location of the accommodation. There seems to be a lot of history in the area. There is a metro station less than a five minute walk away. And on the main street there’s plenty of restaurants to dine in (the staff gave a really good recommendation for a place that serves cheesesteak). The majority of the staff I (shortly) interacted with were helpful and friendly. During my visit a little pub crawl was organised, which started with half an hour of free drinks at the hostel itself. In my experience there was always staff present at any time, which made checking out or having questions answered a lot easier.

Check in times are really strict. So are the rules of not taking any food into the rooms. The hallway and the room I stayed in had a foul smell that would soak into my clothes. Lockers are available but you need your own padlock in order to use them.

Just awesome like a second home....cannot beat the prices!!!!!! To but quality and location is still AWESOME TO CLOSE TO A SUPERMARKET IF YOU WISH TO SHOP AND COOK AT THE PLACE OF STAY HOME AWAY FROM HOME MANY THINGS TO DO!!!! BEEN VISITING FOR SEVERAL YEARS...

JUST MAKE SURE YOUR READY TO SHAPE UP LIKE ROCKY GOING UP STAIRS TO YOUR ROOM...GREAT INCENTIVE TO GET TO THAT POINT BECAUSE THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS IF YOUR SUITCASE IS VERY HEAVY BRING SMALLER BAGS TO MAYBE TRANSFER SOME ITEMS THERE TO MAKE YOUR LUGGAGE LIGHTER BUT CAN STOW LUGGAGE ON FIRST FLOOR.

The kitchen and fridge freezer facilities are very big and very clean, it's easy to bring, store and prepare your own food. The lounge area is also big, with plenty of seats and electrical outlets and is probably better than the photos! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The bedrooms are very slightly better than the photos in that they have some small curtains between the beds that are not shown in the photos, which help a little, however as you can see in the photos the bunk beds are basic metal and there is not much privacy especially from other people's lamps if they are turned on. The aircon in the room was sufficient, the curtains not the windows blocked most of the light. The street was not too noisy even though it's in a lively area. They provide a small towel and linen. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom which is great.

The bathrooms and beds are showing their age, they look slightly older than in the photos. As you can see in the photos the bunk beds are basic metal, the mattresses are just ok, and there is not much privacy especially from other people's lamps at night.
