Staff was excellent, facilities well maintained and welcoming. First appearance was very pleasing and the layout of the cabins was well thought out. Room suited our needs as we were only spending the night, clean and large enough. Patio off the room was a plus as it was ground level and gave view of nature, not paved roads and buildings. The place was close to Fallingwater, out actual destination. Plenty of good eating places within reasonable driving distance. Plenty of improvements going on in the check in room

small things, the front door did not fit the jamb very well. We notified the staff and were told they are going to be replacing all the doors.

Room and bath spotless, quiet, beds clean and very comfortable, nice size refrigerator With small freezer. There was a small deck with a table and two chairs overlooking the small lake and we enjoyed our morning coffee there. The landscaping was just beautiful throughout the property. There are several covered picnic table areas with grills and several stone fire pit areas around the property. The owners have obviously put a lot of care, thought and love into this lodging and property. The property is still a work in progress but we are so impressed with what has been done so far. The staff, both evening and morning, were so pleasant and willing to assist. As there is no Continental Breakfast served (as main building is undergoing remodeling they recommended the restaurant across the highway which proves to be excellent. We really cannot say enough positive about our stay and the property. We are retired and take frequent road trips and its not always easy to find affordable, clean, comfortable lodging bit we hit the jackpot on this one! We look forward to returning and supporting this local business.

Not one complaint. I would like to recommend that when presenting the room key you specify it is to be used in the lock on the door handle and not the large lock above it😉

We were in town to tour Fallingwater. The drive from Chalk Hill to the house was EXCELLENT, for driving enthusiasts! Decent place for what we needed, a single over night, nothing fancy. I'd have no issue staying for several days to see more of the surrounding area. Room was clean, which is always a top priority. Quiet. AC was set at a bone chilling 62 when we walked in !!! LOL! No problem, turned up to a more normal 72.

The main lodge is having a remodel, so there was no breakfast available. Not a huge loss there either, most motel breakfasts are tolerable at best.

We plan destination trips every summer and we are very happy to have found Chalk Hill Lodge on this ride. We booked 2 rooms for the night and when we saw the rooms we went back to the office and immediately booked them for a second night. We were impressed with the style and location, each room has a deck that overlooks the pond so we were able to relax and watch the fish jump and the geese wander. We plan to put Chalk Hill Lodge on our go to for future destination trips. If you are going to be near Chalk Hill I recommend you check them out.

The property was close to everything we wanted we were in the area hiking at Ohio State Park in fort necessity. The staff was friendly the room was clean there were not a lot of extras but we weren't looking for a lot of extras we were looking for a good value for a place to get a clean comfortable night sleep.

The facilities are admittedly in a state of renovation. Some things have been renovated others have not and the property in as a whole is in a bit of an upheaval. They're very upfront about that so we weren't surprised. We actually look forward to returning when the renovations are finished and quite frankly will probably be back in the area before then

I liked the quietness of the area. Very private and the dog could stay with us and not be enclosed in a small place, If I was to stay longer the fire-pit was awesome. Loved being by a lake for relaxation this place was great.

bathtub small. Nowhere to eat due to the rain outside you really couldn't use the table outside.

The room had been remodeled and was very nice. The room fit our needs. I liked having the refrigerator and microwave in the room. I would have enjoyed sitting on the deck if it hadn't been cold outside.

I little more detail needed to done were cleaning was concerned...bugs in the light fixtures and the track of the sliding glass door.

Location was great for visiting Ohiopyle, Fallingwater, Historical sites etc. We saw work being done daily to renovate the entire property, and it looks very nice! The room was small, but quiet at night with a comfortable bed. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Only a few of the rooms have the kitchenette. If you want that feature, you need to request it when reserving.

It was a cute little inn, staff was great. Loved the deck you could sit out on, outside of every room. Rooms were clean.

Beds could have been a little softer, they killed my back. Coulda cut the weeds down around the pond alittle more in the 500 building so we could have seen the pond and nature alittle better.

We enjoyed our night stop at this very moderately priced motel located on the historic National Pike road. The room was compact but boasted a small outside deck area looking onto trees and a small lake. Reception staff were very friendly and pleasant. The nearby historic Stone House restaurant provided an excellent evening meal.

Nothing really.
