Hotel Indigo Old Town Alexandria, an IHG Hotel

Location is fabulous. The hotel staff was very nice. The room was very clean.

They have no guest service attendants to take your bag or a valet to park your car. I had to park my car in front of the hotel with my lights flashing, carry my 4 bags up several steps to a luggage cart, push the cart to my room, unload it, and bring in back downstairs. Then I had to move my car to their parking garage and back my car into a tight tandem spot, and return to my hotel room. When you are paying $400 a night, I expect someone to take care of my luggage. Crazy! The room was also extremely small.

I loved that you had a working business center with PC and printing available, I really needed that and used it twice during my stay. The staff, every single member, was really incredible, and also very kind and caring. Every time we needed any kind of help at all they were just over and above meeting our needs and expectations. The rooms were really comfortable and especially the beds and the bedding, everything was great.

Basically I have forgotten about the little things that weren’t 100% and they really don’t matter much in hindsight, but… In our room there was no exhaust fan working in the bathroom, I don’t know if there is usually, but it would help with the humidity. But we didn’t mind. The other thing was we needed to get the shower going on hot in order to get hot water to come up faster in the bathroom sink.

The room was very clean and the location of the hotel is perfect! Everything is within walking distance.

The hotel staff was not very familiar with sites in the city we inquired about. Not historic sites, but rather shopping or restaurants. When we asked about anything, we were met with a blank stare and told they never heard of it and given a map (without any instructions) to fend for ourselves. You don't get the warm and fuzzy greeting when you enter either. Just people doing their job. That was really the only disappointment - everything else about the hotel and town was great.

We loved the location, it was within walking distance to our favorite destination, The Fish Market Restaurant and all of the other Old Town shops. Parking was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll make this our hotel stay whenever we travel to Old Town Alexandria!

There was no microwave in the room for heating up leftovers from dinner and the one in the Hummingbird was unavailable after their kitchen closed.

We liked the location, the comfort of the bed, the room decor, the water pressure, and the friendly staff. Beautiful stay

Not a complaint, rather I would like to suggest offering a reservation to your guests at checkin for Hummingbird. We did not know that a prior reservation was needed due to being full capacity, including the bar area. It would be a nice addition to the experience. I imagine it is full capacity often after seeing the menu.

Great location in Alexandria right by the waterfront. Nice room. Coffee and tea selection. Walking distance to Alexandria center and the caffes and restaurants. Close to the water taxis (mind that they dont work every day so check schedule in advance).

Great for Alexandria but if you are planning to go to Gaylord Convension Center then you are left to uber and whatnot. It seems close but not so. But yes you need to check that in advance. As above I could not complain about the location and comfort.

The paint/wallpaper in our room. Noise from the hallway/adjoining rooms.Could hear people’s conversations 🤮. Needs a dedicated smoking area. Also restaurant needs a better inclusive diet for people with diet restrictions such as allergies/diabetes.

The location was great and the staff were very friendly.

We arrived at 4, an hour after check in, and our room was not ready. We had a pet with us so we were provided another room, but after driving for so many hours we were not pleased to hear that we might not have a room. I had also called ahead of time about their pet policy and they did not tell me about the pet fee, so that was a surprise once we were there checking in that I did not appreciate since I did not expect it. Other than that, everything was fine! Just didn’t find the beds comfy.

First, I have to say how wonderful all of the staff we encountered were. The folks at the front desk were exceptional. They were helpful, kind, and polite. The room was ultra comfortable. Plenty of room, comfortable mattress and pillows and the room actually got dark enough for me to sleep. Everything was very clean and well stocked. As we left, we said we would definitely stay here the next time we were in town and, sure enough, we already have two more stays booked here.

Everything was great, but if I had any critique at all, I would say that the little hotel shop didn't have any decent chips. LOL. I wanted some plain chips and everything had a weird flavor to it. Hardly a big deal, but it's the only thing that bugged me through the whole stay.

The staff was outstanding, very attentive and helpful. The location was a block from the river and two blocks from the main drag, so it was very well located. The room had a refrigerator and coffee (pod) maker. The bill was as promised in advance, no surprises.

The windows didn't open. There was no view even from the top floor. The room had a rather bizarre choice of wallpaper. The bathroom door is the sliding barn style that doesn't close gaps like a normal door, which made for a strange bathroom experience. There wasn't enough parking to accommodate all the guests and we had to get "creative". Plus parking was pretty expensive. I know, it's Alexandria, but still. Room service doesn't exist (Covid) nor was there any freshening up of the room during the stay (you could ask for it if you wanted to).
