amenities And cleanliness
not enough chairs at the pool like God didn’t do much. Mom was breast-feeding in the water mom also had a one-year-old in diapers in the water totally unsanitary. It was not a swim diaper it was a regular diaper and she kept checking to make sure the diaper was clean but again it is unsanitary. Lifeguard knew about and sorry it and did nothing about it

The hotel was in a good location. A nice walk to all the sites.
The beds are VERY small. An American double is not very comfortable when you are sharing a room with your son and husband who are both well over 6ft tall. I asked at reception if there were any roll out beds I could put in the room and they didn't have any. If you are booking this hotel I would recommend two beds one for each adult to be comfortable. The lady at reception told me that the room with two double beds that I had was actually equipped for four adults. In all honesty it would be hard to sleep two adults in each bed.

I have ptsd so when i was watching animal planet and saw it talking about how they had put these trees in on purpose to destroy the whole rainforest to cut these trees to make paper and there was only like a mile of rainforst looking left i felt harrassed by law enforcements and the courts again because they purposly taught me false things gave me books and scripture teachings that were false so when i learned and talked about it they attacked my competency and refused me my constitutional rights speedy public trial jury and more and upon release continued the assault so people would thhink i was crazy and wouldnt believe me. I was under the impression brazil had rainforrest still and were trying everything in their power to preserve and save it. So ptsd attack but everything else was beutiful the staff of the hotel were amazing kond and i felt safe in there i just stopped watching tv there. Thank u so much washington plaza hotel. Washington dc is beutiful and your rates allowed me to affordably stay for 3 days and get of my sore throat cold and sickness so i could handle the outside again. God bless you and any one you serve is lucky to have u.
The staff was great the restraunt was great ive never had a crab cake on bread before. Other then what i mentioned above about animal planet content wich isnt the hotels fault i had a great experiance and have nothing to complain about. My problems dont come from the hotel the hotel made my stay more berable in what i have to go threw thank u washington plaza hotel.

Location excellent. Loved the modernist 60’s vibe of the lobby, the huge bright breakfast room. Also thought the main restaurant was beautiful though didn’t eat there. Everything incredibly immaculate. Front desk staff pleasant.
The decor upstairs dated, especially corridors. Our room was on the small side and the furniture (dark) overwhelmed the room a little. We questioned why the doorman insisted we walk out the front door instead of using the revolving door. For the size of the hotel the entrance is unimpressive and having someone standing there holding a little door just calls attention to it. I would let people use the door they wish to use and not have the doorman at all. Give him something else to do!

The location was great. Just a few blocks from the Metro, which was our major mode of transportation. Also there was a Wawa and a CVS across the street for snack and forgotten treats. Also a little liquor store to pick up adult beverages. The bar/dining area was so relaxing and welcoming. The outside bartenders were top notch. Pool area was well kept and the gym looked awesome. Will definitely tell others this place was worth the expense.
The shower was super weird. Very narrow. The shower handle was down at the bottom left and about a 1/4 of the shower floor was elevated. It made it difficult to really relax cuz you were afraid of tripping or falling. Also unable to adjust the shower head.

The outdoor pool with the bar/restaurant attached was truly our family’s unexpected hero of this trip. We loved being able to come back after our morning outings and have some leisure time by the pool while it was too hot to be walking everywhere (which, by the way, was possible because of the great location of this hotel; more on that in a minute) while snacking and cooling off. The gym was actually really good especially for a hotel gym, though admittedly I didn’t use it much because we did so much walking that I felt comfortable not wasting vacation time working out. The room was spacious and comfortable for a family of four, and while I don’t remember the beds being anything remarkable, the fact that I WASN’T UNCOMFORTABLE means that I slept well and didn’t wake up hurting. This happens at a lot of hotels, with the beds and/or pillows being too firm or too flat or generally painful or cheap; so I didn’t have trouble sleeping here, which earns my stamp of approval. As for the location, we walked to almost all of our excursions throughout the trip: the location was excellent for being able to walk or use scooters to go almost everywhere we wanted to be, and not only did this save us money on car rental that we had considered, but it also gave us the chance to experience being a part of the bustling city. We got to explore wherever looked interesting to us as we walked, allowing for so much more spontaneity than we’d have had with a car since parking isn’t just available everywhere and it’s usually an extra expense. We didn’t need to worry about that. We were also within a block of a CVS so we could get waters and snacks and little things we wanted or needed, and we were within a few blocks of lots of fantastic restaurant choices.
The carpet in the bathroom (not in the water closet/bath/shower room, but the bigger powder room/sink/mirror area) and the bedroom area, for that matter, was kind of old, and really doesn’t belong in a bathroom area at all.

The staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere was inviting and enjoyable. My wife and I had our meals at the restaurant. Service was awesome. During our outdoor breakfast overlooking the swimming pool area, the view was a delight.
We did not like to cost for vehicle parking. $50 a night would have made it an extra $250 for our five nights. We had to seek other alternatives outside of our hotel, which was an inconvenience. However, we do not blame the hotel for that. Because, we investigated the matter and realized that it was an industry reality there. We found a block away a non-hotel parking garage at $35/night.

Parking is expensive, and there is quite a lot of street noise, even from the higher floors. Also, there is no coffee shop or place to get a light breakfast in the building. So it would have been nice to have a microwave in the room.

This hotel is in a really great location, right outside the Washington National Mall area and still in the heart of the city. The hotel was practically in the center of it all. The room itself is comfy and comes with a nice setup. The style of the hotel was a bit dated but we actually liked that. The bed was very comfortable and spacious. in the 100 degree weather, the outdoor pool was a nice addition.
The only thing that we could remark here is the size and positioning of the windows, perhaps. Other hotel have what seem like floor to ceiling windows. But this is actually a non-complaint. I'm only writing this down because I'm trying to come up with something.
