Perfect location

You had no where to go to sit and have a drink from lunch time, the bar isn't open until 4.30

The arrivals desk was very accommodating and friendly and were able to book in a bit earlier. Great variety for breakfast, cereals, toast,fruit and full cooked breakfast. Fruit juices and tea and coffee. Incredible table service (clearance) by lovely friendly ladies. All the staff were throughout the hotel were most helpful and friendly. Our room was serviced excellently by lovely lady every day.

We were booked into deluxe room on 4th floor, with balcony and river views. It was a little bigger than normal rooms but what really let it down was the state of bathroom very old and in sad state of repair certainly not deluxe! As shower was over bath for a older person it could be quite dangerous and slippery, no rubber mat is provided. Ceiling is peeling, some of tiles above the bath have fine cracks thru them and silicone around bath edge is dirty looking and coming away. All in all bathroom desperately needs renovating. Don’t expect to sit out on balcony as most have a large pot with tree in and not much room for anything else. You have to look very hard to find water view .

The airconditioning in the bedroom was too cold - in fact almost freezing. When we tried to warm the room up, by setting on a higher temp, there was no difference. we actually turned the A/C off overnight.

We stayed a week here. Room was good. Had a small balcony but no room for a chair. Pool, sauna and steam room were great. Sunlounges and day beds to enjoy. Breakfast was included and was buffet. A lot of variety but often a bit cold. The eggs were cooked up in front of you and were hot and delicious. Western and Asian food. All the table waiters were friendly. Lunch and Dinner were available there but we didnt eat there. $$ Location close to Singapore River and Riverside restuarants. 7/11 nearby. 7 min walk to Havelock MRT, if you continue past it, there is a hawker centre about 5 mins further on. Zion Road. The Fried Kway Teow is very popular with the locals and the tourists. Cost about $5 AUD and delicious. Plenty of other options. Fresh Sugar cane juice. Fruit/ veg juices, soups etc. Also a few chinese resturants around on the footpath down another road.

We didnt like the shower in the bath, as hard to get in and out. A bath mat would be handy.

Booked purely for a balcony but very tiny - cannot have 2 chairs out there.

I loved the room - its size and configuration, and its design / decor gives an old-world eastern charm fused with modern conveniences. The hotel, though quite old, exudes a welcoming coziness. I felt right at home. This hotel could be my new favourite in Singapore. And it smells very nice, too.

Although the bathroom has been beautifully updated, I'm not a fan of a shower-bath combo. There was no toilet roll when I checked in - had to wait for about 25 minutes to have it delivered. Then as I was showering, discovered that the wall-mounted shower gel dispenser was totally empty. Housekeeping staff took almost 30 minutes to send those little bottles of amenities, instead of just refilling the dispenser; I don't speak a word of Mandarin, so communicating with the staff was a challenge. Breakfast (at 9am on Sunday, 21 May) was a crowded, contact-sport experience. The buffet was not very impressive, either.

Excellent customer service provided by the staffs who went extra mile and meet my parent needs. Location was great and surrounding was quiet for night rest. Variety selection for breakfast. Check in/out was fast. Rooms were clean with comfortable beds. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all!👍🏼

Food was often cold. Only one toast machine, people always queuing, we often gave up waiting We booked the executive floor, the dedicated executive lounge on level 3 was very disappointing, tea, coffee, Oreo’s, pot noodles & cereal 😩😩 We were told that drinks were free between 5-8pm in the Connections Lounge Bar due to us booking the executive rooms, not all drinks were included.In general Reception stated cocktail’s were included but bar staff said they weren’t 😩😩 Mixed, confusing staff communication.
