The staff were fantastic! They were really helpful and friendly. Whatever we asked for, they were able to oblige or find a satisfactory alternative with their compliments. The breakfast offer was varied and delicious. The blackout blinds were excellent. We were all very comfortable. It was useful having a fridge in the room. The pillows were a real highlight! So soft and squidgy! We had an evening meal and enjoyed that too. It was the perfect distance between Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Hepworth Gallery. We would definitely stay here again and look forward to our return.

There was a little problem with the toilet flush not wanting to stop, but we mastered how to deal with that after some tips from the staff! Some of the decor was a bit tired and you could tell the rooms have been well used but it was all perfectly clean. My daughter felt a bit uncomfortable wandering around the city centre in the evening, but she's only 9, and the bars and restaurants seemed more suitable for nights out with friends than family dining. Good to be aware that parking is charged on top of the room fee.

Room was spotless, extremely well set out with everything to hand. Wi-fi and electrical equipment all easy and quick to use. We were surprised at variety and amount of breakfast available, too.

Noise from nearby Westgate on a Friday and Saturday night is a problem but if you know the area (which I do) you know what to expect, and, the hotel provides free earplugs if required! Also, the lack of parking at the hotel. Despite there being 3 other carparks nearby: one is for 2 hours max; another is supposedly for up to 24 hours but is a scam so watch yourselves; and the Ridings only has one level available for overnight but you have to be out or top up by 6am the following morning.

Staff were very friendly, room was spacious and clean. Breakfast on the first morning was very good, check in was easy. Very close to everything, staff available when you needed them.

Breakfast on Saturday morning was somewhat disappointing, sausages tasted overcooked and bacon was hard. Incident with person in room next to us at 3am, locked himself out and was almost breaking the door down to get in (staff were very quick to come up and deal with him once we phoned reception to complain). Matteress unfortunately very soft and sunk in when laying on the bed.

Staff on reception on arrival and following morning were exceptional. Cheerful and helpful. Unfortunately the night staff forgot to tell us about breakfast when we collected our room key that night, thankfully the super helpful lady at the desk in the morning managed to get us something to keep us going. Morning staff get the gold star 🌟

Blinds did not fit properly in the room, not noticed that night but a bright wake up call at 5am. Something in the room (a laminate or the like) pointing our restaurant hours, local cabs ect would he handy

Situated in town, it makes it easy to get to restaurants and bars. Staff are mostly friendly, had a slight issue when I requested via the app to come early, received a confirmation, but upon entering the hotel, I was greeted quite harshly. Explained there was confirmation and he said there was no such thing. But i had email evidence. He then looked and a room was available. This was the only bad moment staff wise. For a budget hotel, there is very little to want for. It had everything we needed..

Housekeeping hoovering at 7.30am directly outside our door. Previously mentioned issue upon arriving early as requested and confirmed.

Staff at reception is very friendly and helpful here. Gentleman has explained us how to get around, where to get bus etc. Girl was very good too, she noticed a cold little person when we arrived and she she turned the heating up before we got to the room, also offered extra blankets if needed. Professional but relaxed and easy people. Breakfast has good choices and lady working there is also super fast and friendly. Cleaners had done a perfect job too. Things were shining when we arrived there 😁 I appreciate this business too, as there are so many gestures of politeness and care , like there was sign in our room saying you can have ear plugs if you find hard to sleep, in bathroom there was sign if you forgot something like toothpaste, brush ,shaving cream etc we can provide it. I think that's real care. Thank you, hope to stay there again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything in the room was very clean. Breakfast was really good. They offered a choice of cooked breakfast, cereal, toast, muffins, bread buns, fruit, croissants, pain au chocolat and even had takeout bags if you were limited on time to eat breakfast. The location was excellent - right in the centre of Wakefield. The room was huge - much more than we needed. Very spacious. Nice large desk so I could get some work done on my laptop.

No bath towels in our room. Big, red stain on the carpet (looked like nail varnish/red wine). Saturday night was noisy (loud music from the bars across the street from the hotel). No radiator in the room so I was a little cold at night. The fridge in the room was loudly whirring all night. The pillows were too firm and plump for me but that's personal preference.

Every one of my boxes were ticked, Very friendly, very helpful staff large room great location and a parking space just next to the door. Fabulous

This is hard as it's only first world issues. The remotes batteries had to be replayed as the remote wasn't working. The light switch for the bathroom was your door key,which I didn't understand so I had a shower in the dark. A towel was left in the shower, maybe from the cleaners maybe from the previous tenants, . I didn't reLize until it was too late due to shower in the dark. Water in the shower wouldn't drain so filled the plug hold only to find a years worth of hairs.

Breakfast was a buffet style and quite good. Car parking is very limited but we parked in the Ridings opposite overnight and it was only £5.50, so a bargain Room: very clean but basic and fine for one night. The bed was the more comfortable than our own at home. Great touch with option of hard or soft pillows.

Would like to have parked outside the hotel but the Ridings is a good alternative and no distance to walk. Noisy until about midnight in the town (but it was Saturday night!)

Breakfasts were amazing with everything anyone would need, hot food served hot. Very clean and well organised. Plenty of everything available such as full English, continental, cereals. Hot coffee and juices are available all day. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Kind and caring. Check-in and out was simple. Everywhere was clean and tidy. We booked the disabled room 201 on the second floor and there was plenty of room, clean and tidy. The toilet/shower had plenty of rails for me to hold on to which meant it was very easy to use the shower and loo. The bed was very comfortable and the room warm. There was a notice to let us know that if we had forgotten any personal items, we could ask for them compliments of the hotel. A great experience.

Although it did not affect us the parking was not that great. Certainly, there could be more parking spaces. We were very lucky to find a place where I could get in and out of my car. There was one disabled space, which I was able to gain on the second day, there could possibly be a second lift as it is difficult for the housekeeping staff to get rubbish and washing down from the rooms. They had to use one lift and although they worked hard and very quickly it was difficult for them and of course the guests who needed the lift at the same time. The outside of the building did not portray the great service inside which may put people off.
