Hotel Don Luis

Our stay at Hotel Don Luis was wonderful! It is an extremely reasonably priced hotel which is very close to Barajas Airport. It is within walking distance of a very nice, small plaza with little restaurants where a person can grab a bite to eat in the morning, afternoon, or evening. We took the bus number 101 at the bus stop, which is located in the town plaza, directly to the airport. It cost 1,50 euros a person and, in about 15 minutes, we arrived at terminal one. Sergio, who was working at the front desk when we arrived for check-in, was great!! He gave us a good recommendation for a restaurant, along with the lay of the land. Sergio informed us the front desk is staffed 24 hours. Our room was very basic, no frills, but it was super squeaky clean, as was the hotel. If you are looking for basic lodging, close to Barajas Airport, I highly recommend this place. If you want a fancy place with many amenities, you should look elsewhere.

I prefer a mattress that's a bit firmer, but, it wasn't bad.

Proximity to the airport. A 7 minute walk to the Metro which is one stop from the Airport. The evening check in staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The twin beds were clean & comfortable, the bathroom also. One minute walk to a charming local square with plentiful reasonably priced bars with food. Fine for one night.

The room decor and soft furnishings are long overdue an update, the ‘nicotine brown’ on the walls is not attractive. There was a pervasive smell in the room that did not disappear despite the windows for many hours.

I liked the location's proximity to the airport, public transportation, grocery stores and cafés. The room was nice and spaceous, and I liked the calm vibe of the hotel, as well as the aesthetics and profile of the hotel. The wifi was good and allowed me to work from the hotel.

The cleanliness of the room upon arrival could have been improved. There were crumbs on the floor near the desk and the bin, as well as single strands of hair on the bed cover. Other than the details on the floor and bed, it was clean.

The hotel has a very nice ambience. The 'real' furniture, wooden chairs, desk, etc, were beautiful and made me feel like I was at home and not in some glitzy airport hotel. The room was quiet which was important because we had to leave early to catch a flight. Unlike many so-called airport hotels, it was in a real neighbourhood with a number of restaurants in the plaza just round the corner. The shower was very good with excellent towels.

It was entirely satisfactory.

Conveniently located at only a 10-minute bus ride from the airport, this hotel was a good solution for a short stay in Madrid. I was surprised at the generous size of the room and the bed was very comfortable. It's easy to get to the city center with the subway, which is a 7-minute walk away, and there's also plenty of neighbourhood bars, shops and a pharmacy nearby.

Tiny bathroom and the shower could be better.

We stay at this hotel every year for two main reasons: 1. It is always the same- clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful 2. It’s proximity to the airport. It is a 10 minute drive The hotel is basic, but it is clean and comfy. We have stayed here every time we fly in or out of Madrid on our way to or back from our home in Almeria area. It’s location is close to a few bars/restaurants and also the metro. They have underground parking (10 euro extra charge) which has always been safe.

The only addition I would like is a breakfast option available if we wanted.

The hotel was beautiful, great stay for getting to the airport which was only 5 minutes away in taxi. Probably better to get a taxi arranged the day before because our Uber could have taken an hour to arrive, luckily it came in 5 minutes. Bedroom was huge

the receptionist was ok, it was late, but could have been a bit more attentive and welcoming. There was some mould in the room, in a lower corner, maybe just me being a bit picky.

It's a reasonably priced hotel, close to the airport. I asked the guy on shift about how to get to places and he was really helpful. There are no other facilities other than a decent room but there's a late shop a couple of minutes away if you want drinks or snacks. I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you have a late flight. Its not a holiday hotel but great for a stop over. Rooms have air conditioning.

This hotel in the barrio of Barajas was a nice surprise. The facility was immaculately maintained. The double room we had was larger than at other locations we stayed in Spain and the bathroom was huge.

The only drawback at this hotel is they do not offer a breakfast. But there are several places to have breakfast in the same street, very inexpensively.

This hotel is within walking distance to the Barajas metro station and to the airport itself, which was important to me because I had an early flight before any busses/trains were running. The neighborhood also has many shops, bars, restaurants, and parks, so it’s a nice area to explore outside of the city center. The hotel itself was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the room had everything I needed for my quick overnight stay.

The bed was not comfortable and the thin, long pillow gave me neck pain in the morning.
