Charlesworth Bay Beach Resort

Location is great,very pleasant and quite Bed is comfortable

Not enough parking Not much lightening for night drive, dangerous if U r not familiar with place

Resort grounds are lovely. Restaurant onsite is very nice, excellent food. There are nice pools, golf and tennis courts. Lovely stroll to a very pretty beach. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a 1 bed resort apartment. Furniture was recently upgraded and it was clean. It was great having a full laundry.

Despite room having some upgrades done the mattress on the beds were saggy and not very comfortable. These need replacing. Bedding itself was good. Our son slept on the sofa bed in the lounge. It wasn’t great, not that it was poor quality, just how sofa beds are. I think we would upgrade to a 2 bed apartment if we stayed again. The bathroom is in 2 parts, the sink etc is in a separate section and that space is nice with plenty of storage. The spa with shower over it and toilet is separate. That area needs an overhaul. Spa is old and dated, I would prefer a walk in shower. Towel rails have been moved and holes filled in tiles. Light fitting had been changed from square to round yet gaps in plaster not filled in. It just needs some attention to detail. It was however very clean.

The room was well decorated and nicely furnished. The bathroom was excellent and the room had a large balcony overlooking a garden area. There was no view to speak of but it was not unpleasant at all. The bed was extremely comfortable, I had a great sleep. Could not fault the room at all.

There are some rather scathing reviews about this resort. I could not really find fault in the room I stayed in as it was excellent for a 1 night stay. If I really had to pick something out ... the hot and cold taps in the shower could have been labled and a sink in the kitchenette would have been nice. But that's just being picky.

I thought the room needed to be finished of better, looked like it had been particularly renovated. But the bathroom vnanty was very shabby !! And most of the floor tiles had big dint in them. Look like dirt, at first. Till u looked closer. Bed was very comfortable clean, and towels where good. Unfortunately I couldn't have a shower. As it had been turn of to tight. But it was still dripping from the shower head that had been turn up the wrong way. Had to ask staff the next morning to help, me turn the tap on. So I could get a shower before leaving that morning. The lady at the reception, on broking in, was very helpful, and even moved her car, so I could be underneath the building as it was cold and purring in rain, when I arrived. Which was dark, and gone past 7pm. I thought underneath the building where my room was upstairs, was rather shabby and need some TLC. The rest of the aera outside was well maintained and lovely for a early morning walk, down to the beach, the highlight of my stay. Thank you. Think it was a little over priced. 😕

Everything was excellent, the bed was super comfy as well as the pillows and the lake view was absolutely beautiful to wake up to every morning, Definitely a place to stay if you are wanting any sort of get away, the location is perfectly in the middle of many different places to visit and there is plenty to do in the hotel.

Only some minor details, the kettle was dirty so it was unable to use, the BBQ area could use a little more lighting and some undercover seating, definitely could have used some cleaning products to clean the dirty dishes aswell as a small area other then the bathroom sink to clean dirty dishes is something I might suggest looking into for the smaller rooms with no kitchen.

The grounds and hotel facilities were exceptional. Large tropical park like grounds with beautiful lakes, pools, walks etc. Lovely paved short bush walk to the nearby small picturesque pebble beach (beach looked like a steep drop off but still saw people swimming there), and a little further on a coastal walkway to Diggers beach. Bathroom tiles needed replacing but it was not a problem and as the apartments are individually owned this may have been unique to our room. WiFi in our room a bit sketchy at times. If you find coffs harbour windy try some of the other beaches as we found the beaches nearby were more sheltered.. The sortel beach and town just south were worth a visit. Resort was Very good value for money.

The 1 bedroom apartment was nice and clean. I was unexpectedly surprised at how large it was. The bed was really comfortable. There was a great view from the balcony and we were situated close to the lift which was very convenient. I loved that there was so much to do around the resort. The whole family loved the variety of swimming pools!

Some things in the apartment didn't seem sufficiently maintained. I'm not sure if the spa bath worked properly and one of the towel rails was falling off. There was some rust on a metal fixture in the bathroom. The bathroom door lock was broken. I think the coffee mugs in the kitchen were too small and there was not enough cutlery. We were also missing a water jug and there were no ice cube containers for the freezer.

Large area for a studio room with double / queen bed . internal bathroom with small kitchenette with toaster and microwave handy . Short walk ( note though that stairs involved from where our unit was ) to pool and BBQ area and easy walk to resort restaurant ( lovely setting surrounded by ponds ) and other resort facilities. Staff and ground employees were very friendly and pleasant . We loved our coastal walk on the walking track from the resort right into Coffs , including down the Marina and up Mutton bird island at the end , then fish and chips at the Co- Op , then walked down the Jetty ( about 12km) , then a few more k’s up to town before catching bus back , dropping us to off on highway near opposite to entrance to Resort ( dry friendly bus drivers in town helped us with this and timetable etc ) .

A lot of the resort beach was covered in rough pebbles making it hard on bare feet . However lovely natural forest and pleasant resort grounds close to beach to walk around , beach was very scenic with rocky headlands at both ends of beach .

Lovely studio with great outlook and terrace. Located on the Charlesworth Bay complex. Nice pools and facilities and close to local beaches including nudist. Close to nice restaurant and bar also in the complex Very friendly staff - great to see you can now interact with a human when you check in. Really great value for money.

Signage and wayfinding is still not good. Having to deal with texts etc all the time to manage the stay is rather wearing - and expensive for overseas visitors having to pay roaming charges. It would be even better with a bit more of a kitchen e.g induction hob and a few pans.

Resort is dated however is comfy and good value for money. I probably wouldn’t stay here for a special occasion as the rooms are not very inviting, however the pool/gardens/golf course are really nice. room has a very old style shower (open style with shower curtain and tiles very slippery) bed was comfy parking was free and lots available check in process very easy and staff very helpful. resort has a huge potential.
