Hotel Nelson

Good style, great location. Very welcoming and helpful staff at reception

I stayed on a Tuesday night and the room above me was booked. It seemed like a proper party happening of a bunch of blokes until about 10:30 so not horribly late but I had to have my TV in very loud to not hear and still A bit unsettling to have my room directly under. It is not the hotel staff fault but it could have been managed by them, I didn’t complain because it did stop by 11 and that was my timing to start complain but honestly it sounded like a large group of blokes in the room super drunk and so loud.

Wonderful stay at the Hotel Nelson. Great location in the centre of town, very easy to walk around to the local amenities (cafes, supermarket and marina). Rooms were of a good size and clean with a comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. A particularly big thank you to the lovely staff member I spoke to when I called about a ring that I had accidentally left behind in the room. If I recall correctly, her name was Sherri and she was so lovely to speak to and went above and beyond to get my ring back to me which was most appreciated.

Room was not made up during the stay even with the hanger on the door asking for housekeeping to do so. Other than that absolutely no complaints with the hotel and staff.

the property was in the best location, bottle mart, restaurants, supermarkets, cafes and boutiques literally 2 minute walk to!! The best views of the wharf and town!! The room was amazing and clean, perfect for what we needed for the night but could have stayed for longer, there was plenty of room in our queen room!! we used the pool area and it was just stunning plus heated!! we were in love!! the cafe downstairs had an amazing breakfast menu and was in the perfect view of the wharf!! the food and cafe were soo delicious!! The whole staffing including the cafe were just lovely!! seriously couldn’t fault the place at all

The location of the hotel was excellent, across the road from most dolphin watch cruises and also a small playground for little kids, restaurants nearby and cafe right downstairs.

The stairs from the car park to rooms are wet and can be slippery as water coming out from the cafe kitchen. We have 2 young kids and found it very inconsistent using the stairs when it is wet. Especially that's the main stairs to our room and there is only 1 disable lift.

We have stayed here before this is the reason we wanted to stay there we were going for a day trip and decided we wanted to stay the night we walked up to Hotel Nelson and asked the lady at reception is there any rooms available for tonight and straight away she told us no we are fully booked without checking so we went outside got on the phone and booked a room immediately so for the life of us we couldn't work out why she had told us that anyway when we checked in the same lady checked us in and said nothing so we left it at that and had a great time anyways would stay again but will be sure not to listen if we are told there are no rooms available thank you.

Brilliant location, walking distance to the marina, town centre and restaurants. The Nelson is a brilliantly renovated motor inn, its very modern and captures the lifestyle offered by living on the water, Its very clean, tidy and the staff are super friendly. Be sure to visit the Little Nel cafe downstairs, the coffee and breakfast menu is amazing!

Disappointed with the little kitchenette area, no water bottles, no kettle but had coffee and tea sachet's. Bathroom was the same to, no toothbrush/toothpaste or shaving kit to be seen, this was a last minute getaway and we did not pack but on experience we have always found these items complimentary to our room.

would have been a nice location if Nelson bay was where I needed to be

when selecting a property for tea gardens which was where I was attending a funeral the site stated 6.4km - so I booked 2 nights. when we arrived it became clear that we were over 80kms away from where we needed to be early the next morning. This error did have an impact on our stay. it needs to be clear on the site that the 6.4km was across water!! while it was a nice facility - I would not have chosen this location if the site was clear. I should not have to go checking the distance - but will in future.

Room was very clean and a great size, bed was comfy and had a lovely balcony area too. Pool area was beautiful, wish the weather was better so we could have spent more time there! Having The Little Nel cafe attached to the hotel was amazing, great coffee and good food. Also loved being walking distance to the marina for great restaurants for dinner or lunch.

Due to the weather, we spent a bit of time in the room and the Netflix button on the TVs didn't work so it would've been a bit better if we could've actually used this function. We were also in a room right on street level so request a room on a higher level if possible!

we had an accessible room & liked the close access to our car .Staff were very friendly & helpful as there was an issue with the Lights .

I think the issue with the Lights could have been dealt with better .It was a Sunday but Electricians had been working there before the Weekend & on Monday issue was fixed when they returned ,why was this not done beforehand??,obviously it was something they had done .

The location of the Venue was exceptional close to all amenities shops Marina and Beach walks. One we arrived we drove around such stunning views wish I had stayed longer. I had come mainly for my Nieces wedding at Murrays Brewery. Nelson's Bay is certainly a place to stay longer as it was very appealing.This was my first time at Nelson Bay Hotel Nelson. The bed was exceptional and the receptionist were very helpful Thank you for your hospitality

The only thing that was disturbing was the inside of the elevator between the two glass panels with accumulation of dust that could not be assessable to clean Suggestion to place a panel on the inside so it could not be seen
