The Select Inn Penrith

Our room was on ground floor, car parking space pretty much right out front of room. Beds comfy, water pressure in shower great. The fridge had a good supply of milk sachets They had 2 family rooms, being away from other rooms is good, I have noisy toddlers, so being next to laundry room was good. Walking distance to a park, close driving proximity to food, a shopping centre and a 24-hour kmart. Being the location it is, it was surprisingly quiet.

When we first arrived, our room, didn't have any internal lock on the door, I have 2 escape artists, but we changed rooms into the other family room with the lock. This one is my fault, I didn't check that the room didn't have a microwave, to heat milk bottles for the kids, only a fridge and kettle.

This is my second stay, the value is great, I found it clean and a great spot to spend the night when passing through for business. I had the corners of my curtains falling off and the staff had someone friendly there to immediately fix it so I had full block out curtains again, which was great. The soap/shampoo etc provided in the bathroom smells amazing!

Literally the only thing which doesn't really bother me too much as I'm usually exhausted is the road noise mainly around peak hour, maybe something that could be worked on is double glazed windows at some point? Wouldn't affect me returning again though!

Family room had plenty of room. Beds were very comfortable. Located where everything in town was easy to get to. Room was quiet considering in was on the main road. Staff were very friendly. Overall...I didn't expect anything more, especially for the affordable price.

I could complain about a few leaves in the pool in the morning, but it was the morning after massive storms that hit Penrith the night before...so I won't. So...I'll have a little gripe, that I couldn't stir my coffee, as there was no spoon in the room. Well I found it eventually, stuck to the back of the door. All in all...we were very happy.

Doona's were soft and warm, beds were comfortable. Plenty of room to sit and talk, we had not been all together for 40 years. Only 1 issue that there was no tea towel, no dishwashing liquid, or plates and bowls. I guess as nurses we always like to clean up after ourselves. Microwave would have been an asset we didn't want to cook just warm a couple of things up. Otherwise very clean, quite and in a good accessible location.

As it was raining the stairs were a little hairy, but would like to see an elevator installed.

Very clean (thank you cleaners 🙂🌸) and looks like it has been recently refurbished. I also liked that I didn’t have to step in and out of a bathtub to have a shower (like a lot of hotels) - modern shower cubicle with adjustable nozzle. Parking was very convenient to the room. Generous with toiletries and tea/coffee facilities.

My booking was for a room with two double beds but we were allocated with a room with a double and single bed. As we checked in after reception hours there was nothing I could do about it. Sleeping in a single bed is not comfortable when used to a bigger bed. The beds themselves however were very comfortable.

Access to the room on the first floor was via stairs. Room was located via a covered walkway. Room was much larger than many others I have stayed in and was well appointed.

Everything was good but to be picky, for such a large room it had a very small T.V. The room contained a two seater lounge which was comfortable but again to be picky there was only one chair in the room. A very nice chair but would be good to have two at the desk. Cant really complain as it was really quite good. Only real complaint is my wife has difficulty walking up and down stairs and there was no lift to get to the first floor. Perhaps I could have mentioned this at the time of booking and a ground floor room may have been provided.

Great clean accommodation at the base of the Blue Mountains, perfect spot to begin a day trip up to Katoomba Scenic World as we did & Penrith Surrounds... Panthers Leagues Club close for Lunch/Dinner & Aqua Golf was an added bonus to our short stay! Definitely be back, staff friendly & inviting.

Perhaps the only thing that we could suggest/ recommend would be the option of a BBQ Area/Camp Kitchen/Fridge being available poolside for those families that would like an option of cooking rather than eating out all the time.

The room was great, we asked before we arrived about the tv and if we were able to hook up a game console. The staff were excellent saying only some rooms had the tv’s that could do that and they happily said they would try and put us in a room that could which they did. The rooms were modern and the shower was so nice I could have stayed in there forever. It was closer to town than I thought which was handy

The night we arrived the car park was very full. We were lucky to get a spot but it made it harder to take our luggage in. The next day we were able to move car to outside our room so it made packing for home much easier

Clean value for money

No lift and most rooms are upstairs. Need hooks behind the bathroom door to hang your clothes while having a shower. Need a mirror in lounge/bedroom. Bed is very hard.Taxis appear to be reluctant to come to this venue, the receptionist rang the taxi company and was told they were shut 4 pm she told us that they are always doing that, rung the 1300 taxis who took the booking then eventually told us they had no driver available.

The room was clean. The shower was great for a 6ft+ tall person. It has super hot water, which is great for a hotel. It's next door to the log cabin restaurant, cafe. Which is a great place for food. The beds were really comfortable and pillows to.

We wish it could have a microwave in the room. And some bowls and plates. It would allow for some basic heat up meals to eat in the room.
