Rockpool Motor Inn

Really enjoyed our brief but very comfortable stay at Rockpool. The room was a generous size and we had a great night's sleep. Fred was very welcoming and helpful with check in and directions. The room was spotlessly clean and met all our needs. South West Rocks is a delightful town and we hope to come back for a longer stay.

Not a real problem but the vertical distance between our car and the room meant quite a bit of shlepping of luggage, as there was no lift. If we were staying a few days or more this would not have been a problem, but having to do it twice in 24 hours took a little toll on us oldies.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the most friendliest of welcomes by Fred. Clean comfortable bed, A/C worked well and a relaxing environment with a beautiful pool. There is a restaurant on site, even though we didn't dine there on this occasion, we noticed it was busy with a nice vibe about it. Would definitely stay again.

Being holiday period there was excessive noise from residents/party goers behind this motel, no fault of Rockpool, just inconsiderate late night noise so kept the windows shut to block it out.

Motor rain was in a quiet street, it was only a short walk to town, which we really enjoyed. Rockpool motor in staff were lovely, and there was always good communication. Bedrooms were comfortable. It is definitely value for money.

The restaurant wasn’t opened however, we did know beforehand that it was close for renovations so I can’t say I wasn’t happy if with my stay.

Clean and tidy - enough room for two with a kitchenette, easy access, easy parking, air con worked well, unfortunately the restaurant was not open as it was over the Christmas period which is understandable

Not much really - I loved staying who wouldn't when they make your bed and clean your room and give you clean towels each day if you want and you only walk across the road to the beach and main street

fantastic location in east walking distance to the town centre and beaches. Comfortable, airy and quiet rooms. In-house breakfast was amazing - so delicious! A wonderful and warm welcome from Fred. Thanks :)

Don’t know if it is the hotel’s fault, but we tried to book dinner in the restaurant and we were told there was no availability, yet we saw that there were only three tables of guests in there during the dinner service, and plenty of empty tables.

Great location, very clean/well kept rooms, lots of space for a small family, very friendly and accommodating staff, free undercover car parking, walking distance to beach, cafes and country club.

This is a small and personal detail but I wish there were blackout curtains over the blinds as I’m a very light sleeper and even the smallest bit of light wakes me up. We also had a baby with us and it made it tricky to get the room dark enough for his nap time. I would still highly recommend The Rockpool.

Beds were well made and comfortable with quality sheets. Quality upholstered dining chairs. Free parking. We were very impressed with the recycling bin provided and the bathroom amenities provided in dispensers also included shaving cream, shampoo, condition, body cream, soap balm which is much more than many hotels we have recently stayed at. One of the staff came around in the morning to ask if we needed any assistance which was another nice touch.

The internet service did not work at all so we could not watch movies on Netflix or YouTube. The manager explained that an eagle had made it's nest in the nearby tower and attempts to fix the reception was difficult due to the eagle's presence. Unfortunately, this would be a problem if you needed internet for work purposes during your stay but there is little they can do about it.

It was a last minute decision for us to stay in South West Rocks on the drive home to Sydney from QLD. We were certainly not disappointed with our decision to stay at Rockpool Motor Inn. We booked the last room at the motel during the busy Christmas holiday. I was warned when checking in that the room we got was one of their least favourite rooms and that they normally try to upgrade guests but were unable to because they did not have any vacancy. We had no issue with the room at all! It was impeccably clean and the bed was the most comfortable we had slept in all trip! We were warned about the noise from the kitchen opposite the room, however, this stopped fairly early and didn't bother us in the slightest. Fred and Di were so polite and professional upon check-in and check-out and we appreciated them being upfront from when we arrived. The motel is located an easy, flat walk into the centre of town and the beach. We look forward to staying there again and getting a chance to enjoy South West Rocks for longer than a night.

set nicely a little away from town centre, so peaceful but only a 5 minute walk to shops, cafes, pub and beaches. very comfortable room, with delightful spa and one of the most comfortable beds ever. friendly helpful staff/management.

it would be nice if there was a fan in the room as well as the air conditioner. night swimming in the pool would be very pleasant.

Very comfortable motel. Great location and good facilities for the age and budget. Clean and well appointed with a handy kitchenette which made light food preparation easy.

The blinds on the rooms when open gave full view to other guests. If you wanted any privacy, blinds needed to be closed, even the middle of the day. There was a security light at the back of the motel from another building that went on and off all night. But that was not the fault of this facility.
