Colonial Court Motor Inn

The Colonial Court was found on Bookings.com the day prior to our family party in Kempsey, (due because the original motel which we booked and fully paid for closed the day prior to our arrival with only a short text message to inform us of the fact) I hurriedly looked for a motel that could accommodate 10 people for 5 rooms and the Colonial Court showed availability, while originally due to the location and the age of the hotel we were all a little sceptical of the hotel all of the family were presently surprised with the condition of the hotel and the rooms. The motel is situated on the river and we had a beautiful bbq area to congregate and celebrate our time together.

We could not find a reason not to like the motel

The location was close to town and shops. It had a cute Country feel to it.. my room had a front and back entrance which enabled me to view the paddocks across. Pretty trees on the grounds upon entry. Although older style, everything was perfectly neat and welcoming. Staff extremely friendly with a good sense of humour.

Although a non smoking room.. the room has a heavy smoke smell.. possibly from previous guest or neighbouring guest smoking close outside with the door open.

The gentleman running the hotel was more than accommodating. My sister forgot her key and he was able to let her in and they were even able to let us check in earlier while my sister got ready for her wedding. We appreciated everything they did for us.

The cleaning smell was very strong when coming in had to air out the rook for 10mins before we could cope with the cleaning spray smell.

Motel very clean and comfortable. Just far enough out of town to be very quiet, especially with the position set back from the road and on the river, but still walking distance to shops and the excellent RSL club for dinner. The owner was extremely kind and accommodating. A great stop over on the way from Sydney to the far north coast or Qld, would definitely stay again.

Our room was at the end of the row with its own little balcony overlooking the river. The manager/owner was very helpful. It’s location very close to the centre of town is another plus

The kitchenette was awkward, but it was great to have a microwave. The fridge was a bit too small for travellers who may be carrying food.

The location is fantastic right on the river on one side and paddocks glowing in the golden light of afternoon on the other. Yet this is within an easy 5 min walk from supermarket and Kempsey. the room was generous in size and booking and check in very efficient. They also accommodated with no fuss parking our small caravan with car attached on site for our overnight stay. definitely stay here again.

This property is clean, well maintained and right on the river. It is easy to access from the freeway and our room has a delightful patio for coffee by the river in the morning.

There were no issues and it served the purpose of being a pretty overnight stop on a road trip.

Great location overlooking the Macleay River. Rooms are really clean and well maintained. I really liked my room which had a nice little patio area overlooking the river.

If you plan to walk into town it's a bit of a walk.

We were fortunate to stay in room no. 17 at the end facing the river and had our own private balcony. was a late booking at we were lucky to get it . was a nice little stay and will definitely stay here if in the area again. room was clean, smelt nice and we were greeted with a friendly welcome on checkin.
