City Centre Motel Kempsey

I appreciated my conversations with Wendy and Janelle-the receptionists. It was good to be greeted by a member of the reception team to collect my room key after a long drive, interrupted by an obligatory truck crash on the M1. The room was presented to a high standard. Everything was spotless, they provide you with Netflix! and the bed was really comfortable. Plus, the price via Booking.com was more than reasonable. As I mentioned upon checkout it was a shame I wasn't staying longer at the City Centre Hotel, Kempsey. There's a lot to do in the Macleay Region! But I was just passing through.

An observation, guests have to ask for knives, forks and dessert spoons from the front desk. This is perhaps a trend now. I would have appreciated a shower organiser that hangs over the shower, as I use my own products when taking a shower. But these things didn't rob me of having a great stay.

Had only one little bottle of milk for 4 adults. I should have asked for more, but generally they let us know at the reception. As woolies was close by, bought ! Its good it the motel had an outside area to sit / BBQ / power point to use an electric stove so that families can get out of the room and chat.

Exceptionally clean room. Good size bed. Great to have microwave to warm up food. Good size shower with piping hot water. Take away available from restaurant on premises and able to get plates and utensils rather than having to eat out of containers. Friendly staff...very welcoming and obliging Thankyou for making our stay so pleasant. We will be back.

No shelving in bathroom to put toilet bags on. Basin not in bathroom but rather at kitchenette.

Located next to MacDonald,s outlet.

Road entry from the south is confusing due to sign advising incorrect route (old sign was excuse) Supposed restaurant is a Chinese cafe not associated with motel but accessed by stairs to floor above reception. Has bad reviews so did not try it. The room is an ancient design with a trapdoor for putting breakfast tray through.

Easy to get find and very quiet and comfortable with coffee straight across the road convenient for breaking up a trip travelling through.Great communication via message and Email answering all my queries about late check-in and 2 beds very Happy. Will definitely stay again when travelling that way next time.

No bad comments needed we stayed 7 years ago on the way to a wedding was good then and still clean convenient and very comfortable.

Location

Didn’t have any basic utensils (knife fork spoon) or small plates / cereal dishes despite having a small fridge and toaster for a simple toast or cereal breakfast. Maybe the toaster should just be removed to negate the suggestion of food prep especially since the vanity is the only option for rinsing dishes and McDonald’s is right next door?.

Friendly staff. Chinese restaurant upstairs very convenient for dinner (takeaway only but that's fine).

Room just across from Macca's playground with screaming kids which was difficult to work but thankfully shut after a couple of hours. Accommodation comfortable but very dated. Ok for one night stay for work trip. Comfy bed. Parking conveniently outside room.

A quiet setting and the room for $$$ was very good value bathroom was spotless which surprised me for such an older property. The bed was terrific, sheets good quality and pillow , thank goodness we're usable and comfortable. The chairs at the small bench were very comfortable and allowed you to relax without laying on the bed. Great to be able to park right outside the room also. We will certainly be back on our next trip to Sydney.

A small amount of beading was missing on the bedside table, which kept catching things, and no bedside table on one side.

the light and airy feeling I have never stayed in motels except this recent travel of mine I have stayed in 3 and this place was of the charts amazing the ease of access including lifts for the second level not that I used though. parking was ample staff were extremely helpful and friendly they make you feel like family and so valued. it’s also updated and modern the floors in the bathroom are not slippery which is appreciated.

Loved the location, staff were really friendly, room was neat, clean and tidy and what was to be expected for a three star motel. I arrived later than expected and this was not a problem for the staff. The Chinese restaurant was really handy as I noticed a lot of people were ordering takeaway from the restaurant. Handy after a long days travel.

The bed was big, clean and comfortable although it felt like that I was going to roll out of bed if I slept on the wrong side, the mattress seemed to have a slope. Parking when you first arrived to check in was a bit confusing.
