Yamba Sun Motel

We were there to see a band playing at the bowling club which was across the road & perfect for us. It was close to the water & Main Street & the limited contact we had with staff was friendly & helpful.

It is essentially an older style motel & the pricing is expensive for what it is but does seem to be what all motel style accommodation is asking these days since Covid. We are not doing as many weekends now as we did pre-Covid as the cheap accommodation us locals use to be able to get as a little’getaway’ is no longer cheap!

It's very cosy and has an excellent location. The air-conditioner was good and quiet, and the TV was big. It was very clean and the staff were friendly.

I would have liked it if it still had the table and chairs I saw in the pictures and also needs an exhaust fan in the bathroom for when you have a hot shower, you can hear the traffic but Yamba is a quite town at night so didn't bother me much

Rooms were well presented, clean, tidy and communications ran well with the motel operators leading up to check in. What was a bonus was fly screens on all windows and the balcony door so we could have them open for fresh air. Our unit came with undercover parking which was handy as it rained when we stayed. Didn't get a chance to use the communal pool and BBQ facilities but it was great to have in case you just wanted to lounge around the motel. It was handy being a stone's throw from the bowlo, as it came in handy for a no fuss feed and a few drinks. The motel was a short 6 min walk from the cafes and amenities which was handy.

Only issue we had was the ironing board. Just wish it was a full size one not a small portable one as it made ironing that much more difficult.

across road from bowling club good location to Yamba shops light and airy motel with good cross wind ventilation. good size fridge and tv. bathroom reasonable. proprietors very nice. pool very clean and reasonable size. barbecue area roomy with 3 tables with 6 chairs each. 2 large barbecues which were very clean.

partition between units on top floor need repairing and gave little privacy. table on balcony rusting.

Location was great - just a short walk along the rivers edge to get to the beach and shops. Across the road from the bowling club which was great for dinner. Hotel is on the main road - did get a bit of traffic noise during the day with the door open but nothing that kept us awake at night or anything. Bed was super comfy - at home I wake with a sore neck most days but didn't get any of that while we were away. Loved how the room had a front and back door - back sliding door looked directly onto the pool (we were ground level) Shower was nice - good water pressure Towels - The most super soft sparkling white towels I have ever seen

There is not much that we didn't like but if I had to say something I would say the positioning of the fridge. it was shoved right up near the front door so if the fridge was open you couldn't open the main door (door clash) however there was plenty of room to move the fridge to the left to get it away from the main entry door. Pool towels would have been nice - perhaps these were available at the office? But to have some poolside or in our room would have been handy. Drying rack - to my knowledge there was no laundry facilities at the hotel and being at a water sports destination a drying rack would have been handy for wet swimmers and towels etc.

The bed was luxuriously comfy after a day of driving. A short walk into the main part of the village to find something to eat. The room had a large smart TV, very spacious and contained all that one would need. I especially liked that they give you fresh milk rather than LongLife, it made the afternoon and morning cuppa so much more comforting.

All of the things which I value most were supplied -- great shower, loads of fresh air from the garden patio with security door, very good bed (firm), great location and friendly hosts.

I would have liked access to Foxtel TV. Maybe I just didn't operate it properly, but there were no instructions supplied for the TV.

The room was an older room and needed some work in terms of bathroom etc, however was exactly as described- cosy. The room opens out into the garden and pool area which were immaculate and still there was privacy to sit outside for afternoon tea. Cleanliness was a priority however the room is a bit old.

The motel itself is close to the main road into Yamba's centre so the traffic starts early, and can be a bit noisy. However if you just walk to the end of the street there is a lovely walk along the Clarence River, and it is only five minutes from the main beaches, cafes and other shops. l

The Yamba Sun Motel is in a good location one minute's stroll from the footpath along the waterfront and less than 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Yamba. Parking was easy, we received a friendly welcome at reception and were given fresh milk for tea. Our room was clean, modern, comfortable and quiet and had everything we needed for our short stay.

Absolutely loved the location. Very quiet, close to the bowling club, and short walk to the walking track that follows along the river. The room was spacious and clean, with a nice breeze of an afternoon to take the heat out of the room. Will be staying here again
