The Carmel Yamba

The motel is well set up for families and the staff were wonderfully accommodating of our week-long stay with children. The rooms were well set up, clean and tidy and spacious. We had a room with a private patio area. There was a free guest laundry and the pool was fantastic. The kids made lots of use of the tennis court and free racquets and basketballs.

It was overall awesome accommodation, but given the length of our stay and cost ($400 a night), it would have been nice to have been offered a room refresh and fresh towels after a few days, however staff were super helpful when we asked for more rubbish bags and detergent and so probably would have refreshed the room if we’d specifically asked.

Lovely greeting at reception, no mess around checkin very quick. Room was clean and spacious. Location was good. Pool was lovely, very clean and nice garden area.

Bit noisy being in the accomadation right at the front, but that not anyone's fault. Facilities in the room, a bit disappointed everything displayed was to be paid for, advert was a bit miss leading. It said on arrival drinks snacks etc, I do understand that could get expensive, but a bottle of water at least would have been nice !! For a family with young kids ! They would have been in that lot displayed before a parent could stop them, and those prices where not cheap.

Really lovely quiet place, even with the full capacity. Excellent curtains blocking out the morning sun. Loved the kitchen, it had all the amenities, such as kettle, toaster, coffee machine, pots, plates, etc. Great shower with good water pressure. The kids enjoyed playing on the tennis court. The vintage bikes were a great touch, we used them to cycle to the breaking wall. Loved the pool and the area to relax around it. Will definitely be back!

The design of the carpets and couches could be improved

Great location able to walk into town and the river was just across the road, The room had a king bed and a little kitchen area and some out door seating, just what we need for a our stay. The owners and the staff where very friendly and happy all the time.. Also we were able to get some push bikes for the three days at no extra cost. The out door BBQ and seating area for all to share was great to have.

The road behind the Motel was a bit nosy in peak hour times, but if you weren't there it didn't matter.

We received a warm welcome vibe from Chantelle from the moment we arrived. Chantelle Informed us of walking tracks, the market, restaurants etc. She couldn’t do enough for us throughout our four night stay. The room was absolutely spotless, bright, quiet, roomy, very well equipped and comfortable. A home away from home! Location is excellent and within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Very impressed with management and professional looking staff dressed in uniforms, energetic, friendly and one lovely lady told me she loves her job. It shows!! Congratulations team, your attention to detail and customer service is second to none and the best we have experienced whilst travelling for the past month. Highly recommended for travellers who are particular about cleanliness!!

It was perfect!

Super studio accommodation, very spacious, comfortable and well equipped (no. 16). Good sized bathroom/shower and everywhere spotlessly clean. This is a family run property and the owners could not have been nicer or more helpful, gave us great recommendations for restaurants, etc. A very relaxing stay and would definitely go back.

Studio no. 16 is adjacent to the main road. Whilst this didn't bother us or keep us awake, it could be a consideration for other travellers.

Our overnight stay in the 2 bedroom apartment was great, the property has undergone a re-vamp with fresh paint, artwork, furniture! The receptionist/manager was just lovely and organised local frozen meals for our dinner, which was great and saved us going out again after a long drive with infant. I highly recommend this property.

I guess if you wanted to be closer to town, but this wasn't a factor for our overnight stay. Although it would be an easy walk.

The accommodation is central and easily accessible by car to the shops, restaurants and lookouts. The staff are friendly and very accommodating to our needs and preferences. We have booked in as a group of family friends; the staff have allocated our group towards the end of the property which gives us plenty of privacy and space for parking. We really enjoyed our stay and the two bedroom apartments are completely equipped with everything you need for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Excellent choice, and would highly recommend this accommodation for future stays in Yamba!

This is a hidden gem. Newly renovated rooms are stylish and comfortable, fire pit, tennis court, pool and barbecue area are all pristine and the location is so quiet, yet so close to town. There’s even a fully paved path across the road that leads both to the town centre and the breakwater. We slept really well in the comfy beds with high quality linen and everything was so clean. The staff were professional and friendly and helped us find the best places to eat. They were happy to let people come and go without a fuss, but lavished attention on our daughter and made us feel welcome. The value for money is fabulous too- this place is nicer than the resort nearby. We probably stay at 15 places per year and this is the best accommodation we have stayed in for a long time. 10/10

I couldn’t find anything to criticise

lovely hotel to break our long drive north. Has been recently updated and bed and pillows were very comfortable. beautiful garden area and outdoor bbq and seating area where we could eat our takeaway. loved the coffee machine too.

Just a small thing. The outside lights stayed on and I found the blinds are not really that effective in blocking it out, especially around the edges - blockout curtains would be better. I had a mask so used that. otherwise perfect.
