Hotel Charlemagne

We felt totally at home in Hotel Charlemagne. We arrived on the first day quite late (approx. 11:30pm). The staff member at reception was very kind and welcoming. It was my first visit to Paris and I felt safe, secure and comfortable at this hotel. The room was cosy, spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. We walked a lot on our visit to this beautiful city, and we were always very glad to return to this lovely comfortable room each night!! The Pont de Neuilly station on Paris Metro Line 1, is very close by and takes you right into the heart of the city in minutes. We felt safe walking around the neighbourhood at night time. There are great cafés and restaurants near the hotel. The price of our stay was very competitive and more reasonable than other places we looked at that, which had inferior accommodation. I would highly recommend this hotel to people looking to book a place to stay in Paris. Thank you to all at Hotel Charlemagne.

Location was good, very near the M1 metro line so near la defense and the shopping centers etc. traveled with a friend and we found it very difficult to get back at night as the metro was closed midweek from 1:30 I think and some taxis wouldn’t take card but that is not the hotels fault at all! I guess just be mindful of this in case you do plan on going out late. Some nice restaurants and cafe in the area too. We were traveling for a match so it was handy to be near a metro and it wasn’t as crowded. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is currently being updated but I didn’t notice any extra noise. The room was nice and the bed was really comfortable, bathroom was a little small but I didn’t mind as we were only away for 3 days. Overall would definitely recommend.

Nothing I jumped out, i guess some parts of the hotel could be updated but this is being worked on :)

- Kid (?) managing the front desk didnt bother to even offer to assist remove our stored luggage (we stayed 2 nights before same hotel and stored baggage). He was poker faced and offered no smile to welcome us to hotel either. Felt guilty as if i did something wrong checking in to the hotel. Previous front desk staff were very pleasant but this kid was a expressionless poker face... - We were assured construction work / noise wont affect us, but it smells of construction stuff on 2nd floor and we could hear drilling noises

Good location, quite far from crowds, and enough close from all attractions. Many options to get to the centrum, taxi, metro, bicycles. 500m from hotel big green park , which was big plus cause we were traveling with dog.

Hotel was during renovation, so a bit noisy. Our room was after renovation,but in bathroom and cv was still not good smell of damp, I am allergic to moisture and fungus so it wasn't good choice. Breakfast were not good, little choice in food, small dining room, tables close to each other, toilet behind one, stairs next to the other. I had breakfast in room prices, but if I would have to pay for that, it would be big mistake. I hope that management will fix some stuffs , then hotel can be really good and nice.

Thank you so much ❤️🙏 The hotel itself was old but charming and my husband told me that I made a good choice to book rooms in this hotel😃 I loved the old stairs and the colors in the rooms. It really is like in the pictures😊 It was my very first trip to Paris and I definitly will come back at least twice- with my husband alone and with my sister alone😊 I like to say thank you again to that kind people. I love you! 🌸

There was nothing to complain about.

The lady serving the breakfast , cleaning and helping me with the coffee machine was really friendly and always smiling . The receptionist was very friendly too and helped me with recommendations for local sights , metro and came to check I knew how to use the coffee machine too . I was allocated the Suite as a bonus which was fantastic .

A kettle in the room alongside the coffee machine would be great .

The personnel of the hotel was super nice and I could accommodate before the usual check-in time. I would recommend staying in this hotel. Good restaurants are nearby and it is especially comfortable if you have a meeting in this area.

The room window was opposite to a bar that was a bit noisy in the evening, but if you close it, you do not hear it.

The room was typically small for Paris with a tiny bathroom with just a shower, toilet and basin squeezed in. It is very much a basic hotel (don’t expect fluffy towels, shampoo, bottles of water, etc.) but it was spotlessly clean. It was quiet and in a great location. The staff were delightful and it was exactly what we wanted.

There was absolutely nothing available for breakfast if you are gluten free.

Very good place. Close to restaurants, shops and public transport. Close to the main atractions. Good soundproof from the outside so nights was peaceful. Very nice people in the hotel (caring and helpful) Bed was comfortable. We had enought space in the room.

Maybe bathroom was a little too small (shower was ok but the part with sink was tight). It would be great to have two chairs in the double bed room (we had only one so one person need to sit on the bed).

The location is the best: close to the subway line 1. You can’t do better choice for that. You have large choice of good restaurants and grocery shops around. Bed is comfy. Breakfast is ok.

A bit pricey for the standard. The receptionist of the day is very nice but I was surprised to see that the other staff don’t say hi to a customer (or maybe it’s a Parisian behavior). They could make a better effort on that point. I didn’t get heat at night, but they were not aware about it and will take care of it (what they told me). The WiFi didn’t work on my laptop. Unfortunately the doors between rooms are very closed. So if you have a neighbor who doesn’t know how to close the door delicately, you’ll be woken up early :/
