Great staff, really friendly. Great location, so easy to get to transport, so easy to get to all of the tourist sites via the metro or metro and a bus. Lots of little restaurants and shops in the local area and very easy to walk to cafes and restaurants in the nearby suburbs. The rooms are decorated nicely and are very comfortable, although a little small. The restaurant was fantastic, food was delicious and the staff (especially the Italian waitress) are a credit to the business - such a fantastic and friendly team.

Our first room was great, a little on the small side but comfortable and clean and a lovely view onto the busy neighbourhood and local cafes and restaurants. Our 2nd room was a little tighter, and space could have been optimised with better planning of the furniture. It was a tight squeeze to the bathroom. There was a noise from the AC unit, possibly a pump emptying the water, this turned on and off every min or two while the AC is on and is irritating when trying to sleep. There were a few broken hooks in the bathroom and there was dust on the shelves inside the room. Nothing that really bothered us and we throughly enjoyed our stay, but worth noting and fixing.

Our stay was very satisfactory. Staff was very polite and accommodating. 24/7 reception. Room size was very good for Paris standards with nice view (4th floor), air-condition, WiFi and amenities. Extra bonus the Nespresso machine and free capsule refill in the room. Good bathroom size. Daily cleaning. Decent breakfast, free for my 5 year old child. Location is great, close to nice restaurants and metro. No pressure in check out and free baggage storing.

The room phone was not working so you need to go to reception if you need anything. Elevator is very small but common in historical buildings. Although room was quiet, some guests don't seem to understand that they need to keep their voice down in corridors after midnight. This is not the hotel's fault but bad guest manners, we have experienced this in 5 star hotels as well.

We do loved this hotel a lot! LOCATION is amazing! 3 mins from Charonne metro(9 line, you can easily go to center). 10 mins from Nation (metro: 1, 2, 6, 9. Plus there is RER A, u can easily go to Disneyland in 30 mins). 10 minutes to Place de la Bastille (metro: 5, 1, 8) Every transport you might need will be 5-10 minutes from this hotel. And yeah, Paris is loud at the mornings but this district is way more cleaner and quieter comparing to other one’s. Amazing cafés, supermarkets nearby and pharmacy. HOTEL ROOM, was very comfortable too. Paris Hotels will be small so don’t expect big apartments. But there’s everything you need and even a big shower comparing to other hotels. Clean bathrooms! Everyday cleaning, towel changing, new coffee for your coffee machine in the room. No fridge and no closet, only shelves so standard room is not an option if you have a lot of suitcases and clothes. Design is very modern too. Very cute and modern hotel with a bit of Paris. Rooms with conditioner so cold / hot whatever you need. RECEPTION, best guys ever! Whatever you need, they will help no matter what. There’s is tea, coffee etc for free. And there’s also nice clean cafe on the 1st floor close to reception. We needed to print our tickets and we could easily do it on reception, very thankful for this! PLUS, amazing free Wi-Fi (but I’ll recommend u to buy LucaMobily SIM card 15 euros - 50GB + unlimited calls and texts). If I’m in Paris, that’s definitely the place where I’m staying.

depends on individuals but I had nothing bad with this hotel.

The location was very good as the hotel is Charonne Station Line 9 is just a 4 minute walk. Line 1 was also close just a 7 minute walk. The beds are VERY comfortable and room was OK not big not small. There is an elevator that is a bit scary as it is very small just for 3 people that will be a challenge for claustrophobic people. The stairs are circular and are also quite challenging to go with luggage farther than the second floor. So if you have a lot of luggage ask for a lower level floor. Other than the elevator or stairs this hotel is superb. Staff is also extremely helpful and nice. We try the breakfast and it is really good also.

Small elevator and stairs

The staff members were all friendly and very accommodating. Our room was kept very clean! Our room was cute and charming. Also the air conditioning worked great in our room, as it was sweltering outside the first week of our trip.

It's not a negative necessarily, but the elevator is very small. Two of us who aren't overweight barely fit in it. Or one of us plus a large piece of luggage is all that would fit into it. Also our room and bathroom were very small, and at times we were bumping into each other or our luggage/souvenirs. But the room did have the French charm, and rooms and bathrooms are often smaller in Europe. We still did like this hotel a lot though!

Second stay at Hôtel des Arts Bastille within three months which goes to show how much I appreciate the place! Location: absolutely amazing. Quartier Charonne is amongst the best in Paris to truly live the local life. Rue de Charonne is filled with small boutiques, amazing bakeries, restos (even a Michelin starred one) and bars. Charonne subway station (ligne 9) is a 5 minutes walk from the hotel and the Faidherbe-Chaligny one (ligne 8) is about 7 minutes away. Neighbourhood is extremely lively but quiet at the same time. There are two grocery stores nearby. Facilities: cute hotel, very well maintained and EXTREMELY clean. Staff: everyone at the front office is extremely welcoming, dedicated and helpful. Rooms: on the smaller side but pretty much the norm for Paris. Very practical and comfortable. However, you might have to play a bit of real-life Tetris if you bring a big suitcase. There is a Nespresso coffee machine but no fridge or mini-bar. Heating / AC works well and the bed is super comfortable.

It's not what I didn't like as much as things that could be improved: Wifi: the signal is sometimes wonky. I mostly relied on my phone's data as the wifi was not super reliable. Water temperature: I had noticed that a few months ago...the water temperature in the shower fluctuates quite often. It's a bit annoying as it can go from really hot to really cold within a few seconds and go back to the set temperature.

The overall style aesthetic of the hotel - clean lines and modern with a little je ne sais quoi. Think John Lewis meets Edith Piaf. It had that boutique vibe without the boutique price. Cotton sheets, white tiling in bathroom with juliette balcony- white and slate grey palette. A walk to Le Marais so not in the Marais but I don't mind walking. Close to metro station. Nice to be in Basitlle and an interesting selection of restaurants nearby. On the edge of the Marais - the best part of Paris I believe.

Staff - please note. I have just arrived in France and your hotel so greet me; don't grunt at me! Welcome to France should be welcoming. Its a small ask but makes a huge difference. Rooms a bit small. Elevator not always working and keys would not always work so you had to go down to the front desk.

The hotel was really well located, close to metro lines that made it easy to get to major tourist destinations. A lot of great wine bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood. I was worried after reading other reviews that mentioned the rooms being noisy and having 'food smells', thankfully I did not experience this. You could hear a little bit of street noise even with windows closed, but I live in a major city and didn't find it any worse than at home. Did not stop me from sleeping.

I've stayed in Paris before and hotel rooms are always tight, I knew the room would be small. I have no qualms about the room size, but the bathroom was really small/odd. The toilet was up against a diagonal wall, and even though I consider myself an average size person there was no way to sit down without my outer thigh being fully pressed up against the wall. It was really cold on the tile and I had to clean it myself for peace of mind because I couldn't stop thinking about other peoples legs also touching the wall. Not a deal breaker as it did appear perfectly clean, and the price of the room was great, but just something to be aware of.

The location is very good, several metro stations are close to the hotel, walk way to city center is approx 40 mins, by metro 15 mins. Many restaurants and bars are around, and in the meantime it's very quite in the hotel. Room looks like as at the pictures, a bit small, but it was in room's description, so it wasn't a surprise

Cleaning of the room could be better, the shower doesn't work perfectly, it takes time till the water becomes hot and sometimes suddenly the temperature of the water changed from hot to cold
