Hôtel Neptune Place d'Italie

The hotel is near to the metro station. It was clean and the breakfast was ok. What we appreciated most was the support given by Gabi, who was extremely helpful with info on how to get to museums and turistic places, to get us a taxi for the airport, and in general was very kind with our requests.

The reason why the rate is one level below exceptional is because the room was in the first floor and our lugagge weighted 20 kgs, and though Gabi helped us to carry them upstairs and downstairs, this kind of information should be pointed out among the characteristics of the hotel,

The room was very clean and the location was lovely. It was not super close to the main Paris attractions but the metro station was very close and could get you to the main areas very quickly. It felt very safe and secure, no worries about our safety while there. Several cute cafes in the area with better pricing than cafes close to the main tourist areas. They arranged our early morning (3:45am) cab to the airport in advance, which was helpful.

There was only one (very flat and flimsy) pillow per bed. When we asked for more pillows, they said they didn't have any. While the desk is claimed to be monitored 24/7, we noticed that coming back in the wee hours, or needing to leave for the airport during these hours, the young man working the desk was clearly sleeping in the back. When you leave the hotel, they take your room key back. They lock the outer door overnight (great for safety! But returning late night, you find the door locked and no way to get in without waking up the young man). While they did arrange for a taxi for us, they failed to mention that he would not take a card. So we arrived at the airport, the driver needed to come into the airport and help us find an ATM in order to pay him.

the lady in the reception was not nice at all (I had to pay €2,40 when I arrived - fees, I gave some coins, and she complained she already had a lot of those… like, I had to say that as a customer, I could pay the way I wanted to… and I was not paying 100 euros in coins! quite crazy and impolite lady)…. the room didn’t have a hair dryer (useful in the winter, of course)… in the last night i asked if I could levar some cheese in a bag, in the fridge (obviously ir didn’t have in the room), and the guy at the reception (he was nicer!) said there was a rule in the hotel for not accepting that, not taking anything for the fridge…

I liked that the hotel room provided all the conveniences for my short stay. It was clean, and the reception was helpful. I stayed for two to three days.

The shower curtain was a bit outdated. There was no drainage system on the bathroom floor (only in the shower). There was poor noise isolation in the room. In the morning, I could hear people walking in the hallway (although not a big issue). Beware that you give your room key to the reception when leaving the hotel. The hotel was a bit far away from the city center for the price (it was a bit pricy for the location). It took 20-25 minutes to go on the metro.

The area was safe, I had no issue with security. The room was small but enough for packing. They made my bed every day, changed the towel once during 5 nights. They vacuumed the room every day.

All was fine.

Room was small but cosy. It was possible to borrow a kettle at a reception. The staff was helpful.

If you speak at least a little French, you will be fine. The staff doesn't speak English. They are accommodating if you speak French. The music school or something like that is just behind the wall. If you don't fancy listening to the drums, piano, or singing practice in the evenings (also after 22) ask to be in a room that doesn't share a wall with this facility.

The property has a very good locational advantage; multiple metro lines, bus routes are within the vicinity of 3 min of walk. Multiple restaurants, fast food outlets are also within a walk of a minute. The staffs are very nice. Check-ins and check-outs are available 24 hours. Languages can also be stored.

The sizes of the rooms are very small compared to the cost of per night, At least one electric kettle was expected within the rooms. Breakfast is available at 9 Euro per person but not many options are available. Not even a boiled egg or any cooked food. No hair-dryer. Expected more cleanliness of the bath rooms.

If you are only looking for a room to crash in after visiting Paris, this will do great! The rooms are clean and done everyday. They are a bit bare and the bathroom a tad small but it works just fine. The location is perfect, with three metro lines available at the nearby metro station. The staff is very kind and helpful.

A bit more stuff in the room would have been nice : kettle, safe, mini fridge and hairdryer (although you can ask for a hairdryer at the reception). It works fine without these things but it would have been great and helpful to have those at hand. It was really hot when we visited and the fan in the room should maybe be upgraded because it was not the best. But as mentioned before, if you will only be using the room to sleep, this fits the bill perfectly, is well located and safe!

Clean place, decent location. Only a few minutes walk from the closest metro station, with relatively quick times to the major attractions. A good selection of restaurants are only a few minutes walk away.

The staff asked us to pay multiple times for the hotel, even though I had prepaid through booking.com. In the end, despite prepaying, the hotel charged me. Though I got my pre-paid money back, it was extremely disappointing.

I was in the room on the last floor, at the end of the hallway, so it was quiet, I didn't hear any neighbours (only pigeons in the morning). Room was spacious and clean. Staff was really nice and friendly. Location is just a few minutes walk from the metro or bus station that takes you right to the city center. Nice neighborhood, many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Great free WiFi connection.

Pigeons having a wild party every morning on the tin roof over my room. During the night it was quiet, but in the morning they would go crazy. Also, no A/C (fan did helped a bit) and no hairdryer. Maybe they should have few hairdryers on reception for borrowing.
