Alkima Athens Hotel

The location was great and I like the environmentally friendly aspect of no plastic and choosing only what you'll eat for breakfast. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and friendly and so helpful. The room was modern, spacious and comfortable with a generous shower (including toiletries) and massive comfy bed & fluffy pillow. Cute little roof terrace with great views and small pool, great for relaxing. Everything was in walking distance.

Nothing really, only slight complaint is that I found a few hairs in the bathroom on arrival but nothing major. Not being able to lock the door from the inside takes a bit getting used to, just from a safety perspective as a single female traveller it would be nice to lock to door from the inside when sleeping.

Dedication to cleanliness and recycling. Wicker baskets, small glass jars filled from larger jars (jams, honey etc) metal cutlery, wicker baskets for laundry and use of paper instead of plastic really impressed how the hotel staff were dedicated in recycling. You can really make yourself at home here. Rooftop swimming pool in the blisteringly hot Athens sun was such a relief. Choice of where to eat breakfast (my room, lobby, rooftop) was such a great choice. Keyless entry meant no worry a keycard when sightseeing. Rainfall showers were so welcome. Knowledgable friendly staff.

The staff were superb, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Have to give a shout out to Monica for looking after us so well. Location is very good with shopping, restaurants and bars all in close proximity, a few minutes walk away. Our room (deluxe double) was spacious, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Good size bed which I found very comfortable. Rooftop dipping pool is a nice touch, we enjoyed time there each morning, with a view of the Acropolis for good measure. Breakfast was a bit novel in a good way in the way it's served. Good choice of options and as much as you want.

The immediate area around the hotel is a bit rundown. The view from our room was not the best, a building in need of some investment and repair. My wife found the bed too squidgy and warm. It felt like memory foam, which she doesn't get on with.

Everything! Location was perfect for good bars and restaurants and for exploring the sites. We walked to everything. The rooms were so comfy and clean and the rooftop plunge pool was such a treat after site seeing on a hot day. But mostly, the staff was so friendly and accommodating and helped us work out adding a day in a different room when our travel plans were disrupted. Will recommend Alkima to anyone traveling to Athens in the future!

Nothing! It was great all around!

The location of this hotel could not be better. It is within walking distance to all the major sites of Athens. If walking is not your thing the metro is very close. It is located near a major restaurant and bar district with fun shops. This is a new hotel. The building is modern and clean. There are only 8 rooms. It was a great value for the money. They have a back patio which is great for sitting or eating breakfast. There is yoga and weight equipment in the room if you want to have a quick stretch or workout. The staff was always friendly and helpful. They arranged taxi and tour trips for us. We stayed for 4 days and really never had any problems at all.

Really there wasn't anything I didn't like. The street noise was a bit loud but I think it is that way for any hotel in this area. Rooms on the non street side of the building are probably quieter. At first I was a little nervous about the area around the hotel. There are old abandoned buildings across the street. But by the time we left we were totally comfortable walking there after dinner in the dark. It seems like an area that is starting to reinvent itself.

The location of the hotel is excellent, we could walk everywhere, but the street is still quiet. Our room was really nice, fitness equipment was a plus and the pool at the roof was great with a view to Acropolis. It was also very nice to have the breakfast brought to our room.

There was almost no noise from the street, but unfortunately a lot of noise from downstairs reached the room, due to the open corridors and staircase. We heard the telephone, the conversations and noise from dishes, cleaning, very clearly in our room.

I spent a 2 days/ 1 night in Athens and I chose this hotel which is located 5 minutes walking from the metro station in an area surrounded by shops and restaurants. The staff is extremely friendly and always happy to share suggestions about the city, sights and nice restaurants. The room was nice, clean and quite so I could relax and enjoy. The breakfast is excellent, the food is fresh and prepared at the moment. There is a small but comfortable pool on the roof with an amazing view of The Acropolis. Unfortunately I could not get a late check-out because there was a new reservation and the cleaning staff had to get the room ready for the new guest. However I had the opportunity to come back after lunch and enjoy the pool for a few hours which was highly appreciated. The staff also gave me the opportunity to take a shower before leaving the hotel ! THANKS a LOT

Everything was very very good

Excellent location, just a few steps from Monastiraki and the new hip area with different modern restaurants. The hotel gives a true boutique experience with only 8 rooms in the property so staff can provide a very dedicated and personal service. Breakfast was also personalized and you can choose to have them at the lobby, patio, room or rooftop something that is not seen in other hotels. I also like the health concept of the hotel with a nice space for Yoga and some exercise. Don't forget the jacuzzi above that gives the view of the Acropolis!

Unfortunately noise isolation from the street is not the best, if possible try to ask for a room that is facing away from the streets (you won't miss the Acropolis in any case, none of the rooms will have such view). If you can't then be prepared for some music from the roof top restaurants nearby.

The staff was exceptional, friendly and reliable. They helped booking pick up from the airport for acceptable money and arranged for a rental car which we needed for the second part of our trip. The rental car was absolutely good in price, and it was brought to the hotel on time. Also hand back over at the airport worked very well and timely. An extra plus was the breakfast on the excellent roof terrace...

We can't think of anything to improve. Really nothing. Yep, all perfect.... just came back from asking the kids. Still nothing. Wife also says nothing to complain about ...

A newly built hotel, that has a sleek and elegant design. The location is fantastic, so close to everything you need and would want to visit while visiting Athens. The rooms were large enough to be comfortable and the beds were the comfiest we’ve ever slept on! The staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and they are so friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Our flight was late so we were able to have a final full day then we went back to the hotel and had a shower and rest on the roof terrace before our flight. We loved this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Oh and the breakfast hamper to the room was delicious!

Right, so these didn’t bother us but the street it’s in looks a bit run down, Athens is doing a lot of work on tarting itself up and this small area is just waiting it’s turn, don’t let it put you off, the location is central and at no point did we feel at ill ease being there. And there are no eating facilities after breakfast but with so many tavernas just a stroll away it’s not necessary in my opinion, there is a bar and would definitely recommend an after dark drink on the roof looking at the Acropolis all lit up.
