Moon And Stars Athens

The location cannot be beat! Just far enough outside the busy city center, yet close enough to walk to everything. The rooms and property were very well done and comfortable. We had to leave early each morning so staff provided us with our breakfast the evening before. The staff were very helpful with any questions we had and were all extremely friendly! Being able to see the Acropolis from the rooftop deck was an added bonus! We were jet lagged and wanted a quiet first night so we ate a takeaway dinner while viewing the Acropolis all lit up … it was magical!

Beautifully decorated room, setup is perfect, bed is comfortable. Love a place that provides robes and slippers. Great to have a heater in the bathroom to knock off the chill before showering. Very nice soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel. Convenient to have washcloths - not all European places provide. Very nice breakfast delivered to our room. You can choose from yogurt, fruit, pastries, soft or hardboiled eggs, coffee and more. Delicious and nice presentation. Great location for walking to nearby restaurants and shopping. Staff is phenomenal - friendly, kind, helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the Fiat tour provided by owner Theodore. Such a great guy! Genuinely a good person who wants to share his experience and knowledge of his country, plus hear a bit about your life. Sharing stories was a highlight of the tour, along with the places he took us. As a local, Theodore knew where to go and what to share. Without hesitation I would definitely recommend this boutique hotel. (Not a big deal, but my post shows I'm from Mexico and I actually live in US)

Very minor item but there is an overhead "rain" shower head in the shower, plus a handheld. I turned off the overhead shower head since not washing my hair, and there was no where to hook the handheld. You're forced to hold it and try to use soap, washcloth, shave legs, etc. A bit cumbersome. Would be nice to have some type of hook to attach the shower head.

Really lovely little hotel. Perfect from start to finish. Before arrival we exchanged some friendly whatsapps with Panagiota and Giannis, who arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport. Room had everything we needed. Bed and pillows were both very comfortable. Really good bathroom. You order breakfast the night before and we chose to eat it on the terrace which was a beautiful way to start the day. It's easy walking distance to the acropolis and all the restaurants, cafes, bars and markets of the old town. Panagiota and Giannis recommended some great restaurants. Have already recommended to friends. Would definitely stay there again when we return to Athens.

This is so cute. they put a lot of thought into all the details. They had a basket full of local flavor yummy treats for purchase and drinks stocked in the fridge. All for 4.00 or under a piece. The location is amazing! amazing views, right next to all the shops and restaurants. They have a balcony terrace with a hot tube and tables all very nice and cute and comfortable! I watched the sun rise from the terrace. it’s like a little fairy tale. highly recommend staying here!!! oh and rooms were air conditioned which is nice after a hot day.

The hotel was absolutely perfect - all areas were clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were all incredibly friendly, polite and helpful - they were all just lovely. Our suite - The bird of happiness was gorgeous! We had a fabulous balcony overlooking the square where we spent 2 hours every morning sat in the sunshine watching the world go by overly a very leisurely breakfast, it was bliss. The breakfast at The Moon & Stars hotel was exceptional! I don't think I have ever had such a beautifully presented breakfast before ever! The homemade elements and presentation were amazing - everything was fresh, tasted delicious and was plentiful. Situated in a perfect location close to the Parthenon, local sights and great shopping/bar/restaurant areas. The area is very busy and urban and there is lots of graffiti (as there is everywhere in Athens - you can even do a local graffiti tour) but don't let that put you off or you'll miss an absolute gem of a hotel. A few reviews I read before we booked mentioned unsavoury characters in the square but we never saw anything like that and felt very safe at all times. We loved the location! Because the hotel is situated in a busy, vibrant area the room is noisy at night but again, don't let that put you off. The room is soundproofed which does help and earplugs are provided in the room (we took our own after reading other reviews) which worked perfectly and cut out all noise. We 100% recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again. Photos - view of square at night and 2 fabulous local bars - well worth a visit!

Perfectly located in Psiri. Walking distance to everything and close to Metro station for our trip to Aegina. Wonderful staff that were extremely helpful and smiling. Great breakfast delivered on the terrace or in your room. Nice terrace w view of Acropolis for lounging or soaking up the sun. Very good and efficient housekeeping

that we had to leave. No dislikes at hotel. Psiri a very nice area to stay in.

Moon and Stars was perfect! What a stylish boutique hotel. The staff were communicative prior to arrival (I received a thorough WhatsApp message two days in advance with clear directions and photos of the street view of the hotel entrance). Check in was so easy - Angela was there to greet us after our flight to Athens and show us to our great room. The hotel is SO stylish- I kept remarking to my partner that every detail was so thoughtful- from the multiple towel hooks, to the helpful framed information about nearby restaurants and bars, to the wonderful smelling local toiletries (I ended up finding the Olive Era store nearby and buying a few items for myself!) One thing that I didn’t count on but was SO great was breakfast - you simply ticked off what you like and when you’d like it on a sheet and conveniently clip it to your door before bed. Breakfast was SO good! French press coffee, fruit and yogurt, excellent pastries, hard boiled eggs - all presented very beautifully. Moon and Stars was a wonderful stay and I’d recommend it to anyone!

The interior design is extraordinary. The staff is very helpful. Mini bar is always stacked with wide variety of products. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is of bit limited options but served as a room service on the desired time. Room isolation is perfect, you practically cannot hear a very busy street outside. Safety deposit is also in the room, decent size (a smaller laptop can fit in). Hotel has a rooftop terrace where you can go, bring your own food or drinks are enjoy the acropolis view. Location is great, Acropolis is some 20 minutes by foot, Ancient agora 5 minutes, Syntagma 20 minutes. Not bed if you ask me.

There is no buffet breakfast, only free room service breakfast you have to order a day in advance at the desired time. For me this was an upside, but might not be perfect for everyone. Street in front of the hotel is really busy, so you will probably need to sleep with windows closed (the isolation is perfect, two double glass doors and windows, so if you choose to close them, there will be no noise present). Wifi was also slow for some time during our stay.

Such care and attention in the decor and the staff/owners are friendly and offer a personal touch to help you enjoy your stay. Well located and they bring a lovely basket of breakfast to your room (pre ordered each eve). One of the comfiest beds and niciest showers we've had in a hotel room. So close to a variety of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Such a unique find!

Slightly noisy at night with the traffic but the windows are triple/quadruple glazed to try and keep as much noise out as possible.
