Helvetia&Bristol Firenze – Starhotels Collezione

We stayed in the new building and the room was fantastic - large, very comfortable. Lovely mattresses, linens, complimentary fresh berries and prosecco on arrival.

The breakfasts were disappointing. It just doesn't match everything else. Very nice breakfast room - and very limited, poor menu. We had breakfast included in the price, but the choice was just sad and even the coffee was average. And one more disappointed moment. We paid 60 euros for the hotel's valet parking. When we were leaving, they asked to bring the car at a specific time in order to catch the plane. At the appointed time, the car was not there, we were offered to either wait 15-20 minutes or go ourselves to get the car. We no longer had the opportunity to linger and walked with luggage for the car ourselves. This is not a big issue, but not for 60 euros for a service with a parking cost of 20 euros per day))

Location is perfect. The cafe restaurant was very good. The staff was exceedingly friendly.

We booked the Suite Bristol. It contained two separate rooms which were of adequate size but neither room was very comfortable. The living room had a small round table and two chairs and a sofa made off very hard foam (no feather pillows). The sheets were spectacular but the mattress was between average and good. The overall interior design was attractive but not inviting. We didn't feel like lingering in our suite.

By far the best location in Florence. If you like shopping, this is your place because all of the high end stores are right next to the hotel. It is in the middle of the historic center where all of the key museums and galleries are located. The staff is phenomenal and took care of anything and everything we needed. Their spa is at another level. It consists of a number of rooms that have a variety of offerings. You start at the steam room, then you enter a room where there are alternating cold and hot showers, an ice cold room where you apply ice to your body or stand against a large ice block located on its wall, a salt room to dig your feet in, and ending with Roman baths that have the strongest massage water jets I have ever experienced. All your needs will be met by staying at this location.

The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable.

Every single time we went to make tea we had to call down or physically go down (as faster) to get either tea cup, or milk or tea bags. Once they brought it up at charged us EUR26 for the tea although they removed it off the bill when we questioned it - without any issues. Also, room 307 is extremely noisy as there are recycling bins nearby and so the garbage trucks which deal with the glass bottles are there between 4am and 6am. Not great.

The Helvetia is the epitome of attention, amazing hospitality, and guest experience. Absolutely fantastic! Hotel: the location is ideal in the heart of historic downtown and all of the high end designer shops. It's a beautiful old World elegant hotel with all modern amenities. There is a state of the art spa on site which is both beautiful and functional. We only tried the massages, but treatments included salt therapy and a cold room. Staff: exceptional service and attention. Can't say enough about the hospitality. There are few hotels that provide this level of service, we felt very pampered. Room: very comfortable bed, roomy (we were upgraded to a suite) and had plenty of space for a European hotel room. Heated towel racks and flooring in bathroom also a luxurious touch. We had complimentary bottled water everyday and truffle chocolates several times left in the room. There is plenty of closet space and shelving which was great for our 5-night stay. Food in the restaurant is fine dining and cocktails are artisanally prepared. It is quite pricey, so be prepared not to skimp! It's a relatively quiet hotel and the room doors seem to cancel out any noise from the hallway. The outer windows do a decent job acting as a noise barrier however, being in the heart of the hustle and bustle, do expect some noise at night from people frequenting nearby establishments. Overall, we felt pampered and well taken care of by the staff at Helvetia (Gabrielle, Linda, Iliryan, Laura in the spa, and the amazing bartender in Cibreo). Very little if at all, to be negative about. The bathroom products, while plentiful, are a bit too floral and perhaps a more contemporary scent might be considered. Almost not worth mentioning.

I can't remember the last time I loved a hotel, but I loved this hotel. From the moment you enter the hotel, you are looked after in that old-fashioned 5-star way. The army of staff greeting you wherever you go was special. Outstanding concierge. We were upgraded to junior suite, which was massive and well-appointed plus lots of water. But the dated decor took some getting used to.

We had a bad breakfast experience. They apologised and no charge. That was the only negative.

1. The staff at the property were amazing they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable my high ranking of the property is based on the excellent service experience. 2. Beautiful rooms, we had 3 absolutely beautiful rooms, especially the Bristol suite (modern beautiful suite, very large, beautiful bathroom) the hotel lobby and restaurants are also beautiful. Really beautiful property I can’t fault the interiors. 3. Absolutely perfect location.

1. Toiletries-not what I expected when paying $$$$ per night. 2. Bed in my suit was “noisy” the springs in the mattress were making noise every time I moved 3. Noise from the street (not hotels fault) there was broken cobblestones on the road and it made impossible to sleep through the night when the cars were passing through so we did not get a good night sleep. Again nothing that the hotel can do about it and I completely understand that. There are wooden shutters on the windows facing the street but maybe they should cover the top part of the windows too. I think we were just unlucky with the road issue. I would definitely stay again and planning to do so very soon but this time I will ask for a room on a little more quiet side of the hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel with a very attentive and friendly staff. Rooms are beautiful (we stayed in the Bristol wing). Location is perfect! We were upgraded to a suite! Next time we need to try the spa!

The breakfast buffet is a little ‘poor’, but the fantastic staff will bring you almost anything upon request! Very nice coffee!

Very good place to stay when visiting Firenze. Close to museums AND shops for ladies. The staff is helpful and quite efficient. The facilities are top notch (spa and pool but not used directly). All in all one the best place where to stay in Firenze.

The rooms could be slightly larger but this is a standard in Italy. Air conditioning was not engaged at the time of our stay so a bit hot at night.Mid season not the best for that.

Location was centric. Everything is about a 10 minute walk. Staff was friendly and helpful. Decor was good. Hotel was clean and kept nice.

The bed seemed a bit worn. Value for money in my opinion was overpriced. I would expect a better bed. The shower needs a little update/upkeep. It leaked water all over the floor.
