Hotel David

The Hotel David staff went out of their way to help us with things like bus timetables, dinner suggestions and reservations, and just making sure our stay was comfortable. Happy hour was generous and fun, and having tea,coffee and soft drinks always available was appreciated by us weary travelers. Breakfast is fabulous, although because it only started at 7.30am, we missed it on the days we had early starts. The hotel is a little way from the city centre but we quite enjoyed the walk along the river. When we weren’t up for it, we caught the bus from right outside the hotel. If we ever make it back to Florence, Hotel David will be top of our list.

We loved everything about this beautiful hotel. The staff were so kind and made us feel so welcome. Ruckman and Chiara both helped with day trip ideas and restaurant reccomendations The rooms were beautiful with high ceilings and comfortable beds. We loved the breakfast each morning and the happy hour drinks and nibbles each night were a lovely way to meet other travelling guests . We were very sad to leave here and would return tomorrow if we could.

We loved everything

I had an exceptional stay at Hotel David! The accommodation was top-notch, with spacious and impeccably clean rooms that exceeded my expectations. The staff were not only extremely helpful but also incredibly friendly. The convenience of good parking and a bus stop right in front of the hotel added to the overall positive experience. Hotel David's excellent location made it even more remarkable. It's conveniently close to all of Florence's major attractions, ensuring that exploring the city was a breeze. The highlight, however, was the amazing breakfast with a wide array of choices and the delightful afternoon aperitif. I was so impressed with my stay that I can't wait to return to Hotel David in the future. Highly recommended!

The whole hotel is really beautifully decorated and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable regarding any questions you have about your visit to Venice. We had one of the double rooms with a balcony that had a great view of the neighbourhood. There is a 24 bar with free water refills and other drinks for every guest. It is a simple 20/30 minute walk into the very centre of the city but if you don't feel up to walking or you need to be somewhere early you can get a cab easily from outside the hotel.

Nothing it was perfect

The hotel itself was a piece of art. It has an Italian charm from the first moment you step in the hall. The staff was super friendly and kind. Everything that we asked for, they delivered with huge smile. When it comes to the amenities, they had a full drink service 24/7 (free and some paid drinks depending on what you wanted on the place). There is always free water available to refill your bottles and free coffee and tea at all times. The room was spacious and had excellent views to the mountains and city with fully renovated bathrooms. They also have elevator! Important factor when it comes to old Italian buildings.One of the things that we liked the most is that during the evening, there is something called as "happy hour" that gave the opportunity to drink local wines for free with some snacks at the hotel. This was AMAZING to come back to the hotel after all day visiting Florence landmarks and have a good rest sipping a bit of local wine.When it comes to the car parking, it was super easy as they have a private parking in their property and it was for free, which is very rare to have in Florence.Its not far away from the city center around 10-15 min however, there are 2 bus stops right outside the hotel that takes you there in less than 5. The front desk even sells the bus tickets, so you dont need to worry about finding the place to buy them.Overall the experience in Hotel David was simply AMAZING. We will be back for sure!

Amazing breakfast and happy hour where we met a lot of very nice people. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has the feel of an old time guest house with loads of charm. We were also happy to be staying on the other side of the Arno away from the crowds of tourists in the city center. Great views of the neighborhood rooftops from our room. About a 1 mile walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the sweeping views of the Duomo across the river. Not far from city center, if you’re a walker, or an easy taxi ride. Recommend a visit to the Boboli Gardens at Pitti Palace. Close to many cool, hip restaurants on this side of the Arno.

The hotel is a little close to the main road, but that can’t be changed. We were in the back of the hotel so it was relatively quiet.

Normally, I don't post reviews unless I get knocked out with greatness or disappointed. This time, I must say that this hotel lived not only up to their high rating, but I actually felt their kindness seeping through their body language, helpful protocol and sincere attitude. When you see a smile behind a corona mask, you know you have come to the right place. The place feels right, does it right and makes everything an absolute delight. I had an off birthday and came back to the room at night with a champagne tray on the bed with a complimentary bottle and two glasses awaiting me with a note from the staff. I could actually rant and rave for an hour why I liked this hotel. Yes I want to return to Florence, but it is mainly because I know where I will be staying. We went to a wedding two nights of our 5 in Florence at a 5 star hotel Il Salviatino, rated number 60 in traveler ratings and although it was luxurious, we couldn't wait to get back to Hotel David on the last night to end off the trip as it started... delightfully real and authentic.

The only thing I did not like was that I had to check out.

It is a little gem hidden behind a wall. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and well equipped. The very friendly and helpful staff makes you feel at home. Breakfast is very good both in selection and quality. We enjoyed it on a lovely terrace. The minibar was for free and refilled daily. The hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There is a living room section where you can sit and enjoy especially the free drinks in the hour before you go out for dinner.

It was a perfect stay but if we had one wish we would have wished for a small pool as we experienced extreme heat of 38-40 degrees for two weeks. But the wonderful hotel staff organized a pool visit for us which was just what we needed.

The hotel was fantastic. It was one of the rare hotels that actually made you really want to be there and enjoy it while you’re there. Throughout the stay we had free water, coffee and three cans of drinks for free + every night free drinks and food. It really was a fantastic experience. We arrive by car and they have a private parking inside for the guests, also for free. The breakfast was great and the room was also great. If we’ll ever come again in Florence, we will definitely stay here. 10/10

The staff are very welcoming and very friendly, always willing to help. Breakfast is good and can be eaten inside or on an outside patio. Taxis were easily obtainable by asking the front desk and usually arrived within 3 to 5 minutes. The cost of a taxi to the city centre seemed to be about 20 to 25 euros. The free Happy Hour was excellent!

The coffee machine downstairs was a little dodgy. Choosing the chocolate option resulted in something of a disaster. There was only one chair in the bedroom, and, as usual, not enough coathangars. They can’t do anything about location but when we tried walking back on a few occasions we ended up in a sweaty mess; it was just a little too far for us so taxis were necessary. The two taxi apps we used were a bit hit and miss, so coming back to the hotel sometimes we had no choice but to walk. A bus runs along the south side of the Arno river but seems to stop at about 20:00 and requires a walk over the Ponte Vecchio to/from the city centre anyway.
