Oscar our host was an excellent. It is central, 20 minute walk to Duomo. Very clean, traditional , brass style beds. Large central lounge nicely decorated. off which there are 7 rooms. Lounge has small library of books on Florence in various languages. Thank you for the hospitality Oscar! Laundry service down the block, and restaurants/coffee shops nearby. You know you are in Italy when you stay here.
There is a small service style elevator or walk 3 stories. If you want a very modern hotel with lots of amenities, plentiful electrical outlets, lots of water pressure perhaps not this place. But if you want character, this is the place!

The location is just amazing, a stone's throw from David's. Oscar is a thorough gentleman and very helpful. The apartment is old and has an antique feel. The USP is its location. We enjoyed our stay at Michaelangelo. I might stay a little further away to explore the rest of Florence next time, now that I know the lay of the land.
We went when the temperatures were soaring. We would have liked to return to a nice cool room. We had to wait for the AC to kick in and cool the room down. The AC was turned off every time we stepped out. We were given 3 keys, 1 for the building, 1 for the apartment and 1 for the room. A key card would be so convenient. After a long and tiring day, my wife left the key at the restaurant and only remembered when we had walked halfway back. Our bad but the walk back to retrieve the keys was painful.

The location is good. 800 meters from the duomo. There was a great supermarket just behind the corner. The host Oscar is very nice and helpful. It was possible to make and early check in. He ordered us a big taxi to the train station, because of the luggage. Perfect!! Elevator in the building. Good value for money.
No smart TV. One of the mattresses needs to be changed. I felt the mattress spring on my back. The room looks a little bit old, but was ok.

The room was cleaned every day and Mr. Oscar was very polite and helped to call a taxi when he checked out. There is a bus stop just outside, a beautiful garden in the middle of the street, and a local market and fruit stall two blocks north.
