Hotel Raffaello - Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Everything with a big BUT which is mentioned in the negatives.

The hotel policy is turning heating off between 10.00 and 17.00. This would normally be ok for a typical tourist's schedule, but I arrived at 13.00 and was working on that day and the room was freezing. I told the receptionist and she simply said that it's hotel policy to turn heating off for that time. After an hour I was too cold to continue and went back to complain. The next receptionist was very friendly and after complaining, gave me a fan heater that saved the day. This was a big minus to the experience and my initial rating intention was to give around 5, but the overall experience after that was well worth above 9, so went for an 8. Also the view was bad but the room was so beautiful that this wasn't a problem really.

Hotel Raffaello is a fine hotel with a very convenient location. I didn't upgrade my room. It's on a quiet street so I slept comfortably. It was a 12 minute walk from Rome Termini. It's about halfway between the Termini metro stop and the Cavour metro stop. I could walk to many of the places I wanted to go within 20 minutes (the forum, Capitoline Museums, Piazza Venezia, Dora Pamphilj, etc. etc.). There was one restaurant nearby (Satiro) that I tried that I enjoyed. Two other restaurants I went to were a 25 to 30 minute walk (Bottega Tredici and Rimessa Roscioli) so I walked there but took a taxi back to the hotel. The farmacia where I had my Covid test was ten minutes away. The area felt safe. The bathroom was a little on the small side and the room size was fine, but maybe some people would prefer an upgraded room for perhaps more of an elegant view (although I personally appreciate any view that is different than that of my suburban home). All in all, it was a comfortable stay. I found much of interest in the nearby area (a street lined with plane trees, a memorial plaque on the former home of someone who worked with the resistance, a plaque noting the physics lab where Fermi and other famous Italian scientists worked).

The hotel is perfect in many ways, we had breakfast on one of the mornings and at an extra 12 euro each there was a wonderful selection and the ladies in there were lovely. The rooms are great and location very nice - 15 mins to colloseum and 20 mins to the Trevi area with its wonderful fountain and shops and restaurants. Had a lovely stay and would recommend.

The check out was disappointing. We had been told we could have the mini bar for free as the escalator was out of order and the room was on the 4th floor, the same man on reception tried to charge me for it. We gave our room number to the lady in the restaurant as we were told to do for the one morning we had breakfast but the man on reception was unsure how many mornings we had breakfast.! We were then told we each had to pay a local 4 Euro tax for each of the three days we were there- this was a cost we were not made aware of and came to 36 euro. He offered to order us a taxi to the airport which was 60 euros when the standard price is 50 Euro in the registered white taxi’s. Such a shame that the check out spoilt a lovey stay.

The location was great for us, not far from the train station and a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum. The room and bathroom were a great size with a fridge. Bathroom looked recently refurbished. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. Good customer service and friendly staff!

The hotel is under going refurbishment and so the lifts were out of order. The room needed another plug socket. When looking at the website I expected a room with a window or door we could open to enjoy the Italian sunshine but it was not possible to open curtain even because of scaffolding and work men, it was a shame to spend our time in a dark windowless room. Maybe a heads up about the work before arriving would have saved a little disappointment. But, none of this spoilt our stay in Rome and I would stay here again.

The location for a start! In the Monti district it was situated on a quiet street and within a 3 minute walk to lots of lovely restaurants and shops. It was about an easy 10 min walk to the Colosseum and other sites within the same vicinity. The staff were all very friendly and courteous at all times. We had a king double and the room was very spacious and always clean. This is our 4th trip to Rome and we will definitely be staying here again.

Nothing in fairness. There is building/renovation works ongoing but they didn’t affect us at all.

What a great hotel...from the location to the staff it was outstanding...sure there might be more lavish places at 3 or 4 times the price but this is the best value hotel I have stayed at in Rome

If I had to pick a fault?? Hmm...this is difficult...maybe not enough milk refills for the coffee in our room but there is a free coffee facility in the lobby so it's not really a complaint

Amazing hotel in the center of Rome. Walking distance from Roma Termini in a safe neighborhood. Spacious room, well decorated, and a bathroom with bath. Comfortable bed. Coffee machine and tea available in the reception area for free. Possibility to leave your luggage after check-out for the rest of the day. Employees always ready to help you and really nice.

It could have more electrical sockets available in the room.

Lovely hotel with traditional decor and friendly staff in a convenient location: a short walk to Rome Termini train station and only 15 minutes walking from the Colosseum. Next door to a small grocery store and just down the street from a ton of nice restaurants. We especially appreciated being able to leave our bags for a few hours after checkout and enjoying complimentary coffees in the hotel lobby.

In our room, the bathroom was quite small and bathtub/shower was especially tight. It was fine for us, but larger travellers might feel uncomfortable.

Friendly, family run hotel in an excellent central location 5 minutes from the central rail station and walking distance ( 1-2km ) to many of Rome's great attractions . Lots of affordable eating places nearby and some more upmarket restaurants at the nearby opera. Great buffet breakfast and gluten free food . Free wifi worked well . Very helpful staff who gave useful advice on transport options etc . Spacious room and very comfortable bed . Handy local supermarket next door .

Shower cublicle was a little small and bottled drinking water was not provided free ( although the charge was waived ) . No tea/ coffee facilities in the room and no non Italian channels on TV as far as we could tell .

Great location- close to Termini train station and Cavour metro. Plenty of restaurants nearby, supermarket virtually next door. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean, room very spacious. Bed is comfortable. Great facilities including free hot drinks in the lobby and sometimes pastries. Breakfast good value at €10 with hot food options as well as usual continental choices.

Minor issues with bathroom door lock. Otherwise nothing.
