The small Bed and Breakfast with a total of only 6 rooms is located in walking distance of the Termini (Rome‘s central station, ca. 5-minute walk) as well as a number of famous sights such as the Colosseum and Forum Romanum, the Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps to name just a few are only about a 15-minute walk away. The hotel is on the 5th floor of a Roman townhouse (which luckily has an elevator) allowing for great views of Rome! The rooms are spacious with comfortable king-size beds, TVs (not that you would need that in a city like Rome, we haven‘t turned ours on once during our four-night stay), a desk, ample storage for your clothes and belongings as well as a mini fridge, which is newly stocked every day with water, juice boxes and snacks for you to take free of charge. The bathrooms are clean with huge walk-in showers and some basic toiletries (shower gel, hand soap) are provided. Breakfast is served in the small lobby every morning. Each room gets their own box with pastries, there‘s a small buffet with jams, butter, etc., some juices, cereal, and yoghurt. There is also a coffee machine that is open 24/7, and the coffee is delicious! Gianluca is an excellent hosts who goes above and beyond in accommodating his guests. A Roman himself, he is very knowledgeable about the city and its surrounding areas and has amazing tips and advise not only for the obvious and well-known sights of Rome but also some insider tips for you to explore. All in all, we cannot recommend Relais la Maison enough! We felt very welcomed and comfortable at the hotel and would choose to stay there again on our next Rome trip!

Hotel had a boutique feel to it rooms were very large good bathroom facilities room was cleaned and replenished every day, continental breakfast coffee machine available 10 min walk from main train and bus terminal excellent location for sightseeing every day

Nothing not to like

The location is awesome. The room was OK, except for the fact that, regarding the lights in the room, there were three spotlights and only one worked but did not compromise the stay. The breakfast was very good.

I particularly liked the comfort of the rooms, the cleanliness and the particularly friendly and helpful staff. The location was great...all the main sights within walking distance. The people in the reception suggested some things...and the last day when we had a problem with our id card they helped us find a solution. We really thank them for their support 😊

The property was very comfortable, mostly clean and felt like a home away from home. The owner was super responsive with any issues and genuinely cared about our stay. The breakfast was light and available every morning, there was one morning where the deliver person did not make the delivery and the owner was kind enough to grab us breakfast at a local bakery. This will be my go to spot as long as they have availability whenever I am in Rome.

There was some paint peeling in the shower that made it look dirty but it was not, it was just paint peeling.

Location is close to most of the main attractions and there are metro and bus stations close by. The staff was very welcoming, we received many good advices for hangouts and landmarks, they even let us use the fridge after checkout and left us the key when there was no staff available, they worked tirelessly to help with a technical problem in the safe's mechanism that never occurred to them before. The room had a large bed that we didn't want to leave in the morning, a mini fridge that was filled daily with water and yogurt, the shower was spacious, the smart TV is small but we didn't really watched it a lot during the trip. The coffee machine is a must have every morning! Also the snacks in addition to the breakfast box were a nice comfy way to begin the morning, although some days we chose to try out more kinds of Italian breakfasts.

The floor tiles were poking out and it was a bit dangerous but the staff knows about it and is working on fixing it. The breakfast is very limited but is great when you are in a hurry.

First thing was the way William attended us by welcoming, comforting, asking for travel plans to guide, explaining how can we go around, making us understand location through physical map and lastly where is what and why at the hotel. I also liked close proximity to Roma Termini which is 13 mins walk to hotel and nearest Metro station Republicca which is 6 mins walk. Room was big in size with coffee and snack area open throughout the day. There was water in mini fridge which I felt as a great gesture when I compare with other hotels who charge for it when you reach kind of thirsty during check in after long travel. When you see the building, you'll be like it's a big hotel but it's only at the 5th floor of that building with 6 rooms. Trust me, it's a great hotel like feeling when you enter the floor and reach reception area.

Floor needs repair which William, the owner himself agreed and he has plans to try out better flooring in July for one of the room and later repair all during September, I guess. This was not a big issue. Reason I am mentioning is that they were transparent about it and I liked it.

Lovely common area with view of the Basilica. It was excellent to have a coffee machine and snacks available for guests. A breakfast box delivered at 7am for guests. Friendly host who provided some restaurant suggestions and came back to fix the air conditioning which wasn't working when we arrived. Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed and some juice was provided in the fridge, a lovely touch.

Five flights of stairs to climb with heavy bags was troubling as the lift seems to have not been working for some time. Our after hours instructions still referred to taking the lift so this needs to be modified. The Basilica view from our room was nice but partially obscured by a building. The rooms need some refurbishment and the new owner indicated these were planned

The staff was very polite and friendly! the room was very clean and renovated! Every day we had our fridge fully filled with yogurts, water, butter, marmalade and juice and in the area of reception there were all day snacks and coffee! It overcame our standards!!!!!!!!!

The distance to Colosseo was almost 10’ in piedi but from the centre was surely more! That was not a problem for us, our only problem was that in order to return to the maison there was an uphill (due to the high temperatures we were so tired every day). Generally, I think there are bus stations nearby so this may not be a problem at all.

Pleasantly surprised. We entered an old building and was face d with a dodgy looking lift. But the lift was smooth and once we got in the hotel area it was beautiful. We were met with cakes and drinks which was a nice touch. Breakfast was a bit disappointing mainly sweet cakes but did have a small fruit pot which came in a box because they are still careful of covid which was fine. We emailed ahead for airport pick up and booking covid tests and they sorted everything out.

There was a lot of rubbish at the base of the steps which the manager did see and was angry about because it does give a bad first impression but it is a shared building which I suppose he has little control over
