Hotel Sonya

Great value for money in a very central location. Most things in walking distance or bus/metro which was super easy to use.

We had no tea and coffee left in our room despite having the facilities for it just cups and an empty tea caddy. One issue with our air con leaking but was able to be resolved.

Property is well located near Colosseum and not too far from Trevi’s Fountain. All in all, the experience is good.

The elevator appears to be about 100 years old and is very slow and limited in terms of capacity. One can feel a little unsafe there. Breakfast is not served in the hotel, but in a store nearly next to it. One cannot serve themselves freely, but only choose between 3 options of predefined dishes. Finally, there doesn’t seem to be much security to leave one’s luggage when arriving to the hotel early to check-in (all bags are left with no identification in a room).

Hotel Sonya is a great place to stay for the location, price, and cleanliness. The room was clean and it was quiet at night which was super nice being in Rome. The hotel even has doors at the end of each hall that the staff close at night so that it's not loud for guests which was wonderful. Our room was ready early so we were able to check in right when we arrived which was super nice because then we could start exploring the city, though when I contacted Hotel Sonya prior to arrival they were really accommodating and said we could store our luggage in the lobby if our room wasn't ready early. The location is also perfect! Monti is such a cool area and all of the main attractions/tourist sites are walking distance from the hotel.

The shower didn't drain well so we had to take quick showers because the tub area would fill up quickly with water.

Great little hotel in a fantastic location. Walkable to everything which was amazing. Really helpful having a fridge and kettle in our tripple room, and the little shop 2 doors away is great for picking up water and tea making kit. The lift is interesting....kind of like a beautiful ornate iron medieval tourture device !! I chose the stairs every time. Lots of bars and restaurants within 2 minutes walk and the Trevi Fountain is only 15 mins walk away with loads of restaurants there to.

The bed was very comfortable. The two best restaurants we ate at were located just below the hotel and right around the corner. Breakfast was very easy at the cafe just outside the hotel. The location was great and made it very easy to get to the train station when it was time to leave.

There is some street noise in the mornings when all of the trash trucks come around but I think this will be the case everywhere in the city.

Excellent location. Termini station is around the corner and all major points to visit in the center of Rome and Vatican are within walking distance, in a leisurely vacation stroll. The staff is very helpful and nice. Highly recommended.

Nothing really worth mentioning. Confusing controls for lights and bathroom fan, especially for someone never exposed to the Italian system. Too bad we learn it the hard way at the end of the vacation.

We did not have breakfast here - but room and location were excellent. Really well located for tourists - and highly recommend this hotel. Central to everything - food - transport - tours - restaurants - lift - etc. Great - great - great - would use again.

I don't think anything could have been better - welcoming and helpful reception - great location etc. They even ordered a cab when we were living for our cruise.

It’s the second time we stayed at this property because we enjoyed our first stay, the hotel is well located and is reasonably priced.

The first time we stayed we got a large room on the renovated third floor, but now we got a rather old smaller room on the first floor. The room was still ok, but the is no way to guarantee you are getting a nice room. Also, hotel has no parking options, which is inconvenient.

The room was very spacious, considering we went in January, the heating was great and it was always warm in the room. It is very close to all major attractions and only 4-5 minutes from Termini Central Station and Termini Metro Station. The hotel staff is very good, it was always clean and smelled nice, and the people who work at the reception are helpful, very kind and pleasant. We would love to come back again!

There is nothing we didn't like

Great location. Very kind personnel with great service and prompt response on everything that we requested. Generally good cleanliness. Satisfied with the size of room and the facilities in the room.

The building looked a bit older compared to what we expected but still in excellent condition. Also despite there was one large bed in the room, it consisted of two mattresses which was not as comfortable as one king sized mattress.
