The Fifteen Keys Hotel

This was my second stay at this hotel and this time I booked two rooms for 5 nights. We had an amazing time and our rooms were lovely (double rooms). The location is really good - the Monti area is close to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum (walking distance) and also to the metro and train stations. The area itself is full of charm and has lots of places to eat and drink and it was really lively in the evenings. The hotel offers a complimentary afternoon tea and happy hour which was great for when you come back tired from all the site seeing activities. The staff were very polite and friendly and always accomodating of our needs. We also loved the breakfast which has lovely seasonal fruit and a great choice of eggs and pastries. The rooms were clean and comfortable with lovely bathrooms and very spacious for an inner city hotel. I think I found my favourite hotel in Rome - will definitely come again!

The bed was nice but needs a bit of an updated mattress.

Lovely, helpful and very professional staff with very good knowledge of the English language. Fantastic (hot and cold) breakfast including home-made rolls and cakes. We loved the cute, well maintained court yard with beautiful flowers and 4-5 small tables for breakfast and drinks. Perfect location.

The max. water temperature (shower) in our room could have been a bit higher. This can probably be easily adjusted and solved by maintenance. We did not raise this issue, as this was not a big deal for us.

Everything was great, but the real highlight was the staff - super friendly, welcoming and helpful. We also found the location to be perfect. Monti has a great feel and whilst you are close enough to stroll to all the main sites, you also feel removed from the swarms of tourists and ‘tourist traps’! The breakfasts were brilliant and well worth it (particular shout-out to the homemade granola and cakes)!

The hotel is gorgeous, classy and understated with a modern boutique vibe. We stayed in a classic light room, the size & layout is perfect and we had access to a shared terrace which was lovely and the soundproofing was excellent so you felt the benefit of privacy and slept well. Beds very comfortable, shower was excellent - 2 of the main aspects and full length mirror a nice touch! The hotel had lots of small touches which really added to it, umbrellas in the room, slippers (you’ll appreciate these after a long day of walking) a small complimentary bottle of Prosecco in the room and arrival drinks whilst we waited for our room. The service was stand out, the staff really make the experience and couldn’t do enough for us without being overbearing and felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. Having walked all over town, this is my favourite location and glad we picked it to stay! Great local restaurants and bars too away from the tourist area but then only 8 mins to the Colosseum!

There isn’t anything we didn’t like about the property, I’d recommend it to everyone. A couple of recommendations - The bar is a lovely touch, we didn’t realise that there was complimentary self service tea & snacks throughout the day until the day we left which is a shame and so I would recommend to emphasise this when guests arrive as the ambience is wonderful. The WiFi system isn’t great and so we struggled to access, you may ask why you need this when in Rome but when planning days out / restaurants / booking tickets it’s pretty necessary, and data roaming only worked when in bedroom. Again these are small recommendations - the hotel & staff are truly wonderful and I would stay again!

Absolutely great hotel that I'll be returning to when I come back to Rome. I had a single room booked and got a free upgrade upon checkin which was much appreciated. The girl at the checkin counter was really kind and offered me a welcome drink. The room itself was lovely, spacious and the bed comfy. Shower was really good and the Malin+Goetz toiletries are always a treat! The hotel is tucked away in a quiet side street but super close to heaps of restaurants, beautiful Monti neighbourhood and plenty of sights from the Colosseum to Santa Maria Maggiore. I'm a light sleeper but I slept like a log - super quiet. Really happy with this hotel!

Cozy and delicious breakfast. With pastries and good coffee. I asked for some fried eggs and they were happy to make them. The hotel is boutique, little but that’s why I liked it. I would like to congratulate the people from the reception. They gave me directions and restaurants recommendations. And they were always asking me if there were something they could do to make my stay better

You could put more than 1 towel in the bathroom

The Fifteen keys hotel was just perfect. Located in the heart of laid back, yet trendy Monti neighborhood, it was close to many good restaurants, with friendly and professional staff, that was super helpful with every recommendation we needed, from restaurants to stores, assisting with reservations and always patient and smiling. The hotel is small, only 15 rooms, very clean, cozy and quiet, with a beautiful little patio to relax in after a busy day packed with tourist attractions. It seems that the designers of this hotel really gave thought to the finest details that make a guest feel comfortable and cared for, and we were especially impressed with breakfast, which was not only tasty but also the most aesthetic I have ever seen in a hotel, from the dishes to the display, which was presented in small quantities frequently refilled, creating a feeling of finer dining in a local cafe, rather than the usual overload large hotels often display, and reducing food waste, which is something that usually bothers me while traveling. We had a great time and we’ll be happy to return.

In my opinion the artwork doesn't really fit the minimalistic and sophisticated nature and vibe of the hotel.
