Hotel Palazzo di Valli

The hotel is very nicely situated,walking distance to the centre of Siena and with a regular bus service at the end of the drive.The grounds and views from the terrace,complete with wild deer roaming free,close to the terrace wall,are excellent. We had a ground floor room, complete with large porch (containing an original pizza oven) and its own separate entrance(perhaps the only room of this nature?),which was a real bonus as it made carrying our luggage from the car so much easier. Our room was probably a tad rustic in comparison to those inside the main building(based on the hotel’s photographic gallery),but we didn’t actually get to see said rooms in reality. The breakfasts were wonderful and being able to eat them out on the extensive terrace with its wonderful views was a real bonus. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would recommend the Hotel Palazzo di Valli as a base for anyone exploring Siena.

The location and proximity of our room to where our car was parked suited us for the reasons given. However,our room didn’t have the opulence of the rooms inside the main building apparently(based upon the hotel’s gallery of photographs),which was a bit of a surprise on our arrival……..and in fact it could have been a major disappointment and indeed spoilt our stay had we let it.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful, historic, well maintained villa in a spectacular, quiet location overlooking Siena and the countryside. It is only a 7 minute bus ride to Siena. Our room was spacious, clean, had comfortable beds and a lovely view. The breakfast buffet was delicious and we especially enjoyed eating outside on the patio with the beautiful views! The staff, especially Giacomo, were very friendly, attentive , welcoming and helpful ! We can’t say enough good things about our stay at Hotel Palazzo Di Valli!

Giocomo and Lorenzo are both incredibly warm, engaging, kind, and helpful. We appreciated their recommendations, and are so grateful to have stayed in their lovely hotel! The 18th century building is simply beautiful; the high ceilings, original tile floor, and frescoes in our room were truly splendid, and the beautiful grounds were perfect for sipping wine and having breakfast outside. The location is also terrific because it is just outside of the city, so completely tranquil, yet only a 10 to 15 minute walk into the city, which we even did twice in one day. We were delighted to be able to purchase olive oil harvested from Hotel Palazzo di Valli’s olives, and can’t wait to try it when we return home! Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer, and we hope to return. We highly recommend this amazing place!

My only suggestion is to replace the theft-proof hangers in the bedroom with regular hangers because as someone who is only 5 foot two, it was very challenging to maneuver the peg into the hole as it was far above my head.

The hosts Lorenzo and Giacomo were very friendly and helpful. The building was built in the early 18th century and has some interesting original frescos and amenities but with all the modern conveniences. Nice breakfast overlooking the Tuscan countryside. Minibus from in front of hotel brings you to the City Centre in 5 minutes for 1.5 euros. Easy to find with on site parking. Entrance gate seems narrow at first glance but we had no problem getting in with a minivan.

The hotel is a perfect combination of friendly staff and wonderful facilities. The hosts Giacomo and Lorenzo are very helpful and polite. Also is the lady in the breakfast room! The actual breakfast was a pleasant surprise,all fresh and handmade. We are coming back for sure!

The only 2 things to keep in mind is the entrance to the hotel is a bit tricky to enter with a big car. Also the location is a bit far of the center of Siena (20 min.)for someone that is not walking a lot on vacations. For us not really a problem!

What a lovely place with lovely staff. I enjoyed every bit of it. I was looking for a place that can easily be reached with public transportation, that is a bit out of town and that has high speed internet in the room. The hotel has all of that and so much more: extremely friendly staff, great breakfast buffet, calming beautiful surrounding, 10 minute walk to Siena old Town, internet was even available on the terrace (where better to work than on a terrace with a great view?). Tipp 1: do take restaurant recommendations seriously - yummy! Tipp 2: if you come by train and want to take the bus you can partly trust in Google maps bus connections but might want to check with the hotel staff to make your life easier.

Everything was perfect

Hotel Palazzo di Valli is just beautiful and the view from the back amazing. The room was small but very comfortable and clean. The location is within walking distance to the old part part of Siena or you can catch a bus. Breakfast was served by very friendly staff and the selection was delicious. We enjoyed it sitting outside, overlooking the Tuscan landscape. The owners, Lorenzo and Giacomo was so welcoming and friendly. They were happy to tell us about Siena and the beautiful country side of Tuscany.

Very nice accommodation in a modern renovated old palace from the 17th century. Wonderful views of the Tuscan countryside and nearby Siena. Far from the road, therefore very quiet. Spacious rooms with authentic flooring :) Giacomo and his team are extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating! A warm welcome like friends - thank you very much! Bus stop next to the gate, bus leaves every 15 minutes. Or you can walk 20 minutes to the center (which we always did).

What we didn't like? Only the unusual cold weather...

Giacomo and Lorenzo are delightful and welcoming hosts who are great fun to talk to and who give great advice on what to do and see in Siena. The grounds are stunning with lovely views of the Tuscan countryside. The stately, historic building is tastefully decorated and peaceful. Breakfast is generous and has anything you might want, including eggs, ham, cheese, pastries and much more. I would definitely stay here again

There is nothing to dislike. This place is a gem.

We cannot say enough about this place… it is truly special in every way… from the moment you arrive, coming up the drive leading to the villa, which is perched on a hilltop at the edge of the city proper, with spectacular views of both Siena and the valley with its olive groves. You feel as though you have gone back centuries, such is the charm of this place. It is only a 15-minute walk into town, but it is so serene out here. The hosts, Giacomo and Lorenzo, are absolutely charming, and quick to offer suggestions for dining or anything else. The breakfast (prepared by the delightful Sofian) is excellent, and one cannot resist an aparitivo on the veranda as the sun goes down. We were sad to leave….
