We arrived too early to check in and were able to leave our luggage at the very helpful front desk. Matteo was a charming young man that was always so eager to help us and had the nicest smile on his face at all times! Our room was large with really high ceilings and we had a few steps leading up to an outdoor patio from our room. The bed was SO comfortable and everything was very clean. The bathroom was really large with a massive tub/shower. The breakfast that was included was so amazing, I got used to eggs and bacon and 2 delicious chocolate croissants each morning! Many delicious items to choose from. Unfortunately my husband had become very sick so after 3 days, we needed to fly home. We were so dissapointed we didn't get to stay our full week in this beautiful hotel. We had to leave at 4:30 am to catch a train and Matteo left us each a goody bag for our travels, and wished us well. Thank you Matteo and the other staff there for helping make our stay so memorable! Elena at the reception was great and very helpful with all our questions and concers regarding travelling by car through the LTZone inside Siena‘s gates. 5* Personal at the Reception. Thank you, Elena! Very nice view over the hills of Toscany. Breakfast was rich and variated.

The Information on booking regarding the way to the hotel by car and the parking place came one day later after we checked out. So that we had some stress driving up and down the streets of Siena to find the hotel. Parking is 15e/day extra to pay.

I had a beautiful room with a view over the roof tops of Siena. There was one male receptionist who was absolutely helpful and so genuinely kind - he recommended a restaurant, tried to make a reservation and when the heavens opened loaned me his own umbrella.

Sadly we were greeted by the most unwelcoming of receptionists - it made the trip start badly and is especially sad as her colleagues were so helpful. It is an old building and if you’re travelling with large suitcases be wary of flights of stairs. There was a “sad feeling” to the hotel which is difficult to describe and I don’t think I would return if I were to visit Siena again.

The building is simply amazing. It is like diving in the past or entering a time capsule. Utterly loved the courtyard, which operates also as a relaxing bar with quite reasonable prices. The room was spacious with comfortable beds. The staff was very friendly and eager to assist you in any possible way. The breakfast was adequate with a slight tendency to sweet savours, but overall very nice.

The bathroom was renovated, but the basin suffered from some technical problems that resulted in some serious flooding. Also the shower had only rain provision, without a separate provision handled by hand.

Don't expect luxury but a charming historical place. Like most Italian buildings, the hotel, which is a former monastery, needs renovation, but we loved the calm of our room and terrace and the inner courtyard after strolling around the historical city (10-minute walk to Duomo). The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, including for recovering my identity card lost somewhere else. Ask them for advice in terms of local restaurants, it's worth it (and you'll understand why those around Piazza del Campo are not full). Also make sure to follow their access instructions and to mark Porta San Marco (and not the hotel address) in your GPS.

One of our beds in room 12 was broken and made the (excellent) mattress hang through in the middle, but we trust that it will be repaired shortly since we signalled it to reception. The (announced) extra charge for orange juice and/or an extra hot drink felt weird, especially since the rest of the English (eggs, meat, etc.), continental (bread, muesli, etc.) and Italian (croissants, cake etc.) breakfast was excellent.

We got room N 29 and we had a large window the most spectacular view of the Siena Hills. Sitting in bed with morning sun and looking at Tuscan countryside was really pleasant. The hotel has plenty of charm, even if not always the most modern facilities (e.g. bathroom). Because it is a bit off the beaten track, it is also very quiet, a rarity in Siena. I would certainly go back! Breakfast starting at 8 am was a bit late for our schedule.

I loved the room, the view was probably the best view EVER and the whole environment was excellence, especially if you are looking for your EAT, PRAY LOVE kind of experience! The place was very clean, the air-con was easy to use and the bed SUPER COMFY. Breakfast was good, not excellent but that is rare and the staff was great.

The bathroom was a bit outdated but you are in an old monastery none the less. Some of the staff was a bit odd about breakfast (we couldn't take our morning tea/coffee in the garden and they over-reacted a bit which did not go down well at 7am)

The entrance/common area in the cloister is beautiful and one can order snacks and drinks from the bar. The staff was extremely nice and helpful! Breakfast included a wide selection, could just maybe include some more/fresher bread alternatives). Parking spaces are available extremely close to the hotel for reasonable prices.

The room was really worn out (e.g., the toilet and the walls were chipped). Although the room was overall clean, it did not feel like it because of the worn out materials. Air con was really loud and could not be fully turned off.

The room was lovely. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and cheerful. Loved that parking was so close .

Having to pay for coffee at breakfast. There was no elevator when there were so many stairs. The odour in the bathroom was overpowering. It took a very long time for any hot water to come through to the bathroom. I ran the water for over 5 minutes and then had a cold shower. When my husband had his shower after me, the hot water came through when he was two-thirds of the way through his shower.
