We booked 2 rooms for 5 persons which we got to live in an apartment. Very clean apartment like an Airbnb

The location of the apartment is quite hard to find we called the host several times to get to the right location

Fabulous location, clean simple rooms with all you need for a stay in Venice. All the staff were friendly, informative, helpful and spoke great English. I believe it’s listed as a 1* but don’t let that put you off, we’ve been less impressed with 5* hotels! The room was serviced everyday, very clean, with air conditioning, mosquito blinds if you prefer the windows open, a safe, hairdryer, toiletries, nice pillows and 24/7 reception. We'll definitely be going back! Breakfast was an option, but we never take it in a city, as want to explore, so can’t comment on the quality, although always smelt good.

The room wasn’t massive… BUT you are in Venice, not really the city to stay in your room, when there’s so much to see. There’s a kettle in the room, with English breakfast tea bags, but no milk or coffee… when we asked for coffee, we were told it was not possible, but we’re offered to be made one. It was for the morning we wanted it.

- Super friendly staff both at reception and breakfast service - Nice breakfast and a good number of buffet items compared to other hotels I stayed in Italy (at Rome and Florence) - Great room ambience - Pleasently surprised to find a ceiling fan in the room! (First European hotel I found this, really useful during the warm summer months, it's a basic in my home country India) - Close to railway station

Nitpicking - The water pressure in the shower was a bit low for my liking - We had to scratch our head a bit to realize that the lighting in the room had to be turned on using a remote which could have been avoided if we were told about it at reception during checkin (but no grudges, the lady at reception was super nice) - Need to climb up and down the steps of a small bridge to cross the water canal since the hotel is on the other side of the railway station which can be a minor hassle with luggage and infants to carry like me - Need to walk through a relatively isolated lane to reach the hotel

Staff were all exceptionally gracious and knowledgeable and spent time helping us figure out logistics and sights to see.; great bar for coffee and drinks open most of the time; lovely buffet breakfast; great location near the train station.; beds very comfortable.. Desk staffed 24 hours.

The room was rather small. The bathroom had all the facilities, but was tiny; would not accommodate extremely large guests. It was okay for us although we are not tiny ourselves. We loved the staff, amenities and location and would go there again-- but if you are a very large person, make sure your room is big enough for you when you make yur reservation.

it’s very clean and neat room . front desk and hotel peoples are extremely nice and there to help any times. perfect location to drop off your stuff and explore the town in any min , you don’t want walk around as other peoples pushing around your big suitcase!! omg !! last day after in morning we went to site seeing to town come back to get our stuff by after 3:30 and hotel peoples was so nice to kept our bags safe in big storage room for guests bags. wanted stay one more day but didn’t had opening , if it was we wanted stay one more day just because it’s was so confutable to stay in the room and by the nice peoples at this hotel. air conditioner was working great , bed was nice wood floor was so clean that’s cleaning lady taking care things very good. we really loved location and room and peoples who works there.

Staff were incredibly helpful, polite and friendly. The location was excellent with some great restaurants nearby. The breakfast was outstanding with a fantastic choice and excellent service, where nothing was too much trouble for the staff!

A few more little touches in the bedroom and bathroom eg tiny shampoo/ body wash and mini soap could be upgraded to slightly bigger toiletries and maybe a box of tissues. Also tea making facilities could include milk and perhaps include coffee too. Overall, however we would certainly recommend the hotel and have done already to some of our friends back home in England.

This was our first time in Venice and there was a lot of choices for hotels. We definitely chose well when we selected Albergo Marin. The hotel is located in a quiet area within the heart of Venice. We were greeted by Michaela who runs the hotel with her son. Our hosts could not have been more friendly and helpful. They spent a lot of time with us advising us on where to go for the best gelato, wine, book stores and gondalas. We also had an education in cicchetti! Our room was everything we needed and expected. There was air conditioning and a celing fan which we were grateful for in the height of summer. The room and ensuite bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was just right. We were cooked bacon and scrambled eggs and there was a wide variety of breads, pastries, spreads and conservatives available as well as fruit and cereal. The breakfast set us up for the day. The staff at the hotel working in the kitchen, serving in the dining room, and cleaning bedrooms were very friendly and happy. Nothing was too much for them. As our flight home was not until later in the afternoon, we were able to leave our bags at the hotel after check out. This was very convenient for us and allowed us to enjoy a last full day in Venice. As gay travellers we always brace ourselves when arriving at a hotel for the first time. We need not have worried as we were welcomed at the Albergo Marin and made to feel at home. Thank you to all the team there for such a lovely time. We will definitely return on our next trip to Venice.

It was an amazing experience! The location is really good, near the subway but on a quiet street. When we arrived we were met by a friendly staff member who gave us a map of Venice and recommended the “must see” places in the town. The wifi was great and we also enjoyed the Tv in the room, we even watched 2 movies while we stayed there :) The breakfast was also great, I am a vegetarian but there still were plenty of options for me. We stayed for 4 nights, after we checked out the staff even offered for us to leave our heavy luggage there so we could enjoy our last day! 10/10 would recommend

This hotel was located 6 min a walk from the bus station on a quiet side Calle off of the Grand Canal. It is about a 25 min walk or Vaporetto ride to Piazza San Marco. It is also a 2 min walk to Cannaregio which is a great section of Venice that we have not previously explored. We found some excellent restaurants in this area! The staff at hotel was excellent! They gave us recommendations for restaurants and even made reservations for us! The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

The bathroom was small and the shower door wouldn't close completely (they told us that they would replace it soon). There was no storage (cabinet) to take clothes out of your suitcase. That was ok for us as we only spent the last 3 nights of 9 nights in Italy here.

We could not have been happier here. I originally booked a place closer to all the main sights in San Marco, but when I realised our plane wasn't getting in until 10pm I was worried about walking through dark alleyways for over 20 minutes, just myself and my two small children. So I found this hotel which is very closer to the taxi drop off point (and also directly opposite the train station and water bus stop). So I actually think this is a much better location to stay. Plus the area is super quiet at night. The hotel itself is a dream. Cute, authentic and the staff were all amazing, from the breakfast staff, to the cleaning team to the reception desk staff and even the manager came and showed me how to work the shower (there were lots of features on it and I got confused lol) - and the shower itself was perfect. The breakfast buffet was the best me and my slightly fussy children have ever had and so we always started the day full. The room was a good size for the three of us and once I figured out you could turn the radiators down it was a great temperature - kept us nice and warm. Plenty of blankets had we needed them and my 11 year old was thankfully for the good wi-fi. Everything was perfect and I can't believe this hotel doesn't have more stars. A great find!
