Casa Pepe Puebla

10/10 would HIGHLY recommend!! The breakfast was amazing and was included with my purchase. It's literally served at the restaurant on site, table service, with traditional Mexican dishes. How did I get so lucky?? I extended my stay twice and I still want to go back!! The 6 person dorm is spacious, spotless, and has a huge shower with hot water and a separate bathroom with a toilet. The dim lighting creates a cozy ambience that made me feel like I was staying in a 5 star hotel rather than a hostel. The kitchen is large, the bar is plentiful even though I don't drink, and overall this stay exceeded my expectations. The staff here go above and beyond to ensure that you are happy, but that's a common theme around Mexico in general. As a solo female traveler I recommend Casa Pepe if you value cleanliness, coziness, friendliness, and spaciousness. The unlitimate dream for a girly with high standards! Everything was perfect!

Amazing place, especially for the price. The staff is great and so welcoming. The place is ideally located to explore El Centro.

The staff of the hotel is amazing and very dedicated. The breakfast is delicious and the wait staff is very attentive, dedicated and professional, but they are understaffed and run around constantly. The restaurant gets very busy in the morning, and I don’t know they handle everything. They really need to put additional people on the floor.

Wow Casa Pepe totally exceeded my expectations! The hostel itself is very clean, incredibly comfortable and has great facilities(lots of social areas, a games area, a bar/restaurant, a kitchen etc). It is also in a very handy location that means it is only a short walk to many sights, restaurants and museums. The best part of this hostel is undoubtedly the staff and activities. There are multiple (around 4) activities to do per day so because of this your stay is always interesting and very social as it's so easy to meet people. The walking tours are all fantastic and a great way to see the city. I would also really recommend the maiz workshop in Cholula (for 300 pesos you get to know how everything is made, make your own tortillas from scratch and then eat some delicious maiz based food along the way). The staff are so friendly and genuinely invested in making your stay as good as possible. I was in Puebla during independence day and it could not have been more fun- the hostel organized a whole night for us so that for only 200 pesos we got 6 dishes, unlimited drinks, loads of activities and then we went out to the grito and clubbing with guests and staff afterwards - it has been one on my best memories in Mexico! That I had to leave

The location was UNBEATABLE. On a quiet street in the midst of some of the most beautiful streets in the historic center with cafes and bars and restaurants all around. The staff were great, and though I didn't participate in most of the events offered, it was amazing that they hosted so many. I got a private room and it was HUGE and very nice. The lobby, restaurant/bar, and seats out front are all great for relaxing. Breakfast was good! For the price I paid, it was an amazing deal.

It was mostly quiet in my room but noise transfer was occasionally bad, i could hear people talking from next door as if they were in my room a couple times. Mostly wasn't bad for a hostel! Wi-fi was only ok. For video calls I had to hotspot from my phone a few times because Casa Pepe's wi-fi wasn't strong enough, but was fine the rest of the time. Overall my room felt clean, but some things were dirty - the air conditioner remote was gross. The bed was a bit hard and pillows a bit lumpy, but doable. The towels were clean but falling apart with strings hanging.

Perfect location, the staff is amazing, the rooms are clean and spacious. There are many communal areas to work or hang out. The internet is great, and there are daily activities organized by the staff. We were initially planning to say for 7 days, but the place was so comfortable that we ended up staying an additional week. We will be coming back here soon.

This hotel is literally 10/10

Casa Pepe was a great stay for me and my family! The location is amazing. The place is better than in the photos, we appreciated the complimentary breakfast and the robust facilities in the hostel. We would have liked an early check-in, but arranging it was not possible. Overall a great stay!

Breakfast was just OK, for mexican standards it could be much better. Option for an earlier check-in. would have been nice. Staircases are not very luggage or disability friendly.

I stayed in a 6 female dorm and I gotta say that everything was perfect. I was not expecting on getting a towel for instance. the bes was very comfortable, with lights, curtains, charger. Didn’t have any issue w the bathroom (1 toilets, 2 showers). The location is perfect, because to get in/out to the terminal is very easy (by metrobus) and it’s around 5min walk from the city center. The hostel offers several free tours. I highly recommend the one w Ale to Cholula. The staff was very amicable. Didn’t try any food at the hostel

The food tour is not worth it for price / quality Food was really spicy and the quantity is half of everything (molote…)

Casa Pepe is in a perfect location for access to the main city center, markets, shops and food! The star was incredibly nice and really can help you (like advice on how to get to the ADO station directly for only 8 pesos!-Thanks Julian). The decor was really nice and very enjoyable to use. Perfect, wifi - a number of outlets, a chess set, Pac Man - even a Bitcoin ATM?!, seating areas everywhere - really nice! The bed modules are also perfect with the shelving, sockets, bed light, and storage. A very nice comfy comforter too. Everything was super clean :-)

Only on tiny thing - at times the room temperature was freezing! (and dim light) so not that inviting to go into the room for more than an errand or to sleep at night. I was worried that I would be cold at night but I was not! The temperature through the night seemed fine and the comforter was perfect.

I had a bit of concern that this might be too much of a party hostel for me (but fine for my 19 yr old daughter). It was actually perfect for both of us. Very social, but the activities were geared to any age (and they had a good mix of different ones). Staff was so friendly and helpful, and there is a decent restaurant attached if needed, although there are many great restaurants in the area also. The hostel is in a prime location for sightseeing and shopping. I would definitely choose this place for accommodation again.

Great breakfast with fruit juice, coffee, fruit plate and eggs, which was included in my booking price, but not for everyone (I'm not sure why.) We never ordered food at other times of day. There was always free purified water available. The street is quiet and very atmospheric, , partly for pedestrians only, and a pleasant short walk past nice trees and plazas to the Zocolo. It is easy for a taxi to drop off and pick up at. Huge comfortable clean room with air conditioning and comfortable bed. Small kitchen available for cooking and storing food.
