Mare Playa del Carmen

Great WiFi and kitchen facilities. Seems recently built. Great that they're pet friendly and have secure parking. Also walking distance from a great juice shop (Eden) and good restaurants. Close to 5th ave. Management was helpful.

The apartment is very modern and spacious. I find it a good value for money.

I booked the hotel on Booking.com and they gave me a price in USD. When I arrived at the place they only accepted cash payments in local currency, when I wanted to pay in USD they charged me a higher amount for "using a different exchange rate"

lucas and sofia the front desk people were extremely kind, the room is very nice and the place is 2 blocks away from the 5th Avenue.

the kitchenette was very damaged. the bathroom doesn’t have any door, and the street behind the place feels kind of dangerous.

wow, where do I start to explain what a wonderful experience it has been staying here. I’ve lived in Playa del Carmen for six years, I just recently sold my property which is why I was renting in the first place. The whole team at Mare, literally made me feel at home from the second I stepped in. First things first. There was a little issue with my credit card. They were so kind and understanding to give me a little bit of time to solve it. Further to that, every time I came in or out, I was greeted with a smile and a friendly face. A lot of buildings here also make it a hassle to have guests in your home. Mare has excellent security, but they don’t make it annoying and over the top like many Airbnbs in town. Also, a lot of times Airbnb’s are now tacking on extra charges for cleaning fees and forcing you to accept them. Here, they schedule complementary cleaning service for fresh sheets and towels, which is such a lovely thing to come back to after a day at the beach!! I have decided to extend my stay by one more week, and there had been a miscommunication on my part about that. Again, the team was able to solve the issue within minutes!!! I’m so grateful to all of the staff here!

honestly, nothing! The location is great on CTM with a five minute walk to fifth Avenue and the two best beaches in Playa coco beach and Esmeralda. This is on the more calm side of town. You can easily walk to bars and clubs and restaurants and shops within minutes, but the rooms are incredibly quiet and it’s by far my favorite neighborhood to stay in playa del Carmen. Also, the rooftop pool actually has a Ocean views, and even when they’re at full capacity, I always seem to be able to get a chair! Everything is kept impeccably clean, there are a bunch of places to get fruit and vegetables and cheese markets nearby. There’s a grocery store laundromat… it could not be more convenient.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience staying at the Mare Vocational Condo apartment in Playa del Carmen for 8 days. The highlight of my stay was the exceptional service provided by Martina at the front desk. She went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The apartment itself was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities I needed including a washer/dryer which was very helpful if you stayed for long period. The location was perfect, with easy access to the beach (10 min walk) and nearby attractions (5th Avenue is 5 min walk). I would highly recommend this property, and Martina’s outstanding service made it a truly memorable stay. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One thing I would recommend to improve is to replace the cooking equipment, spoons and forks. It’s old and doesn’t look good. Other than that it’s all good for me.

Stayed for a week, loved it. Big spacious room with a great view. Comfy bed, nice strong shower. High-speed, stable WiFi with the router in the room.The pool and terrace are awesome. Liked the neighbourhood, had more local feel away from the madness of 5th but still close enough to check it out. Coco Beach is quiet and just a few blocks away. Lucas and all on reception are very friendly and helpful.

Like the rest of Mexico, there are dogs barking all the time, but I zoned it out after a while.

Thé room was spacious and clean. The rooftop pool was lovely. The location was close to the beach and 5th Avenue. the staff were very accommodating with any issues we had.

it would have been a little nicer to be closer to a bigger grocery store. There were very few kitchen supplies, no large bowls, only one pot, no salt and pepper etc. Would have been nice to have an oven for baking, roasting etc. since we were there for 4 weeks. Thé frying pans were in bad condition and the coatings were all scraped off, which is a bit of a health hazard, and staff said they could not replace with better ones. The tv was very small.

This was my second stay here since Jan. 1, 2023. This will be my first choice on any return visits. The location is great, just far enough away from 5th Ave. to escape the night-time club noise, but still an easy walk away from good restaurants, groceries and bank, The staff are very friendly and super-helpful. The penthouse room was ...interesting, spacious, well-equipped, with nice private direct access to the pool area on the top floor.

Not much that the property could do about it, but like so many places in Mexico, you cannot escape the barking dogs at night. The spiral staircase to the upper floor bedroom, without any railing, was intimidating for a 71-year-old man with weak knees, but manageable if you held on to the center post. There is a strange, very large, sink-like outside tub on the top floor which would have been a good spot for a jacuzzi - but really just appeared to be a simple tub - not clean, apparently without any kind of stopper, and not really very inviting...

The hotel it's modern and new.The location seems a little rough to start with but seems safe enough whilst we was out for dinner. The rooms are big and spacious. Really friendly evening staff when we arrived. Great lighting and very comfy beds.

Noisey hotel with paper thin walls and doors so hear everything from the rooms next door and rest of hotel.. The rooms are lovely decor but not so practical like the shower goes all over the bathroom floor. Has a kitchenette but not very well equipped no kettle, no glasses, not toaster. No hairdryer.

the size of the apartment was good. nice comfy bed. pool area was nice. laundry in the room was great. Melanie, Sophia and Jorge were very helpful for any questions that we had

unfortunately the building is across the street from many barking dogs at all hours day and night. it’s a long walk to the heart of 5th avenue. frying pans need to be replaced as the coating was coming off the inside of them
