The hotel is definitely more of a boutique which I absolutely loved. The picturesque b with the incredible view amd being right on the beach 😍. Loved my room with all of the decor the bed; the bed was super comfortable and everything so clean and perfectly cooled room with a great terrace with a view of the shore. The staff were so attentive/ helpful and made the stay so lovely and food/ drink was delicious (definitely try the margaritas!)

I loved the food however I do wish they had a more expansive menu and that there were on-site staff after business hours. lt was a bit off a hassle to check out as I had to catch my shuttle to the airport around 7:30am and I had to search for a contact number to reach someone as there is no front desk. I would recommend having access to essentials like an iron or steamer for travelers.

- The facilities are very good, large spaces, the restaurant is very good and authentic. - I had a few issues, but they know how to listen to customers, and the people who work there were very nice. - I can recommend this place without problem, my girlfriend had a massage, and she told me that it has been one of the best she has ever had. - We took the room facing the sea, and we had a magnificent view from the room. - the equipment to be able to go to the sea such as the kayak are free for clients

there is not really a reception, and in fact after 10 at night there is no one who can help you in case of any problem (it was my case the first day)

The location is stunning! Nice beach and pool. The rooms are nice and clean. Restaurant serves nices food. Staff is super nice, they lended us their own snorkel gear.

Although the location is beautiful, there is nothing in the area. No normal restaurants, bars or shops. The restaurant at the location closes at 20.30 in the evening, so after that it's quiet. The food is good, but the prices are ridiculous! Even more expensive than in Europe. So if you choose this beautifull place, know that you are completely depending on the location itself. The only other restaurants in the street are resorts, same story with prices. It is not a beach for swimming, to many rocks in very shallow water.

My stay at Casa Altamar was absolutely incredible and far exceeded all of my expectations! The little boutique hotel is an absolute gem. It is tucked away a few miles from town on a beautiful white sand beach that is stunning. The food and the drinks -- my god were they divine. All of the ingredients are local and fresh and and every meal is a masterpiece. It's clear from the taste and the presentation that the chef has a passion for what he does and it comes across in the food, which looks like a piece of art when it comes out on your plate. Additionally, all the liquor and all the wine is local from Mexico and from small distributors that change constantly. I had no idea such delicious wine came from Mexico and was obsessed with several of the bottles we had. So much so that I took pictures of them to find for myself later. However, what made my stay above and beyond was the staff. Hands down. Arturo, Arvin, Alfonso, Eric, Javier, Pedro and everyone else treated us like family. Everyone was so kind, so welcoming and truly made my stay a joy. It would not have been the same experience without them. From the staff, to the location, to the rooms, everything was indescribably incredible. I'm already planning my trip back and cannot wait to return!

beautifully located little boutique hotel with the friendliest team you can imagine that tries that make your vacation the best they can. the ocean in front is full of fish and can be explored. the food in the restaurant has an excellent quality.

the beach is unfortunately rocky and can only be entered using the pier. the kitchen - while excellent - becomes a bit boring after a week or so as the menu never changes. the area is quiet but also isolated, so nothing else is in walking distance and taking a cab from the taxi cartel to town is 25€ each way - a rip off in Mexico, but a non negotiable one. the WiFi in the hotel is stable but the actual internet speed is atrocious and it is impossible to work from here unless you bring your own Telcel hotspot.

We had wonderful stay at Casa Altamar. Alejandra was an excellent host who makes everything run smoothly and helped us booking spa treatments and a car for a couple of days. The servers Eric and Ernesto provided great service throughout the day. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The beach felt very private and relaxing as it is so quiet. Really enjoyed snorkelling off the pier and at the neaby cenote (5 minute walk). Would highly recommend Casa Altamar as a good spot which is outside the craziness (and expense) of Tulum, but close enough that you can visit easily.

Hot water wasn't consistent in our room, but any concerns were addressed straight away. Wi-Fi is good but it wasn't always accesible from our room.

Absolutely everything. It is HEAVEN ON EARTH. Located outside of the noisy area (taxi is about 500-600 MXN to/from Tulum Centro), the staff is incredibly welcoming and caring. The view... the most beautiful sunrises I've ever seen, the pool and the beach are so beautiful and natural (so peaceful!). It is the best place for a relaxing, intimate-meditative vacation. I would definitely be back!

The hotel and views were beautiful. There were only 11 rooms so it was very quiet and intimate. Every room has a view of the ocean from the balcony and were very spacious. Since it was so intimate, the staff knew you by first name. They were all so kind and helpful; the service and food was amazing. I highly recommend and would definitely return!

Booking.com stated there was one king-sized bed for out booking but when I received the confirmation it stated it was a superior twin room so we unfortunately ended up with two double beds.

Hotel is *right* on the beach, which was my #1 requirement, so the ocean views and feel of the place was amazing (I think we may have been given the best room EVER on the third floor with windows facing the ocean). They offered kayaks, SUPs, and snorkeling gear to hotel guests., which we took advantage of. The hotel decor was modern and minimalistic. All the staff was great, but I want to mention Alejandra and Ernesto by name because they were so friendly and offered some great ideas on what to explore nearby.

The included continental breakfast did not include any eggs or much protein at all, but it was still enough to fill you up. This did not affect us because we had a rental car, but the hotel is approx 6-7km outside of the town of Tulum, so not feasible to walk to and I am guessing that taking taxis everywhere might get expensive.

- depending on the room you’re only three steps away from the beach - the staff is very attentive and friendly - free water - there is a reef directly in front of the hotel which is perfect for snorkelling - free kayak or SUP rental - good restaurant attached for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a great drink menu too

Nothing bad about the hotel, but just be aware that you’re pretty off the grid and if you don’t have a car you rely on the hotel restaurant for food and drinks (taxis are super expensive to the city center).
