Mereva Tulum

The pools and beach were lovely, loads of sunbeds and hammocks for relaxing in the sunshine. The grounds were lovely and filled with tropical plants. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The restaurant lunch and dinner menu items weren't very good. For the price you pay for some of the dishes, I was expecting high-end cusine, but most of it was just a bit bland (my short rib was dry and chewy). This goes for the same at the sister hotel's restaurants. The restaurants just feel like an afterthought to the hotel, as if they are just there to tick the box of having a restaurant at the hotel, rather than it being an attraction in and of its own right. To recap, the food wasn't terrible, it just didn't live up to what it was being presented as. The breakfast dishes were better and the staff were always lovely.

Calm and relaxing atmosphere — perfect if you’re looking for a private getaway to relax by yourself or someone special. Besides the well kept and clean rooms, what made this stay great for us was the staff. They were friendly, respectful, and helped with every request we had. On a side note: breakfast here is delicious.

Since this is a more private/relaxing location, if you’d like to go explore Tulum you’ll find yourself having to get a Taxi which can be expensive.

Wonderful spot if you're looking for peace and relaxation. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Beach is quaint but perfect, not busy or crowded at all. You can take kayaks/SUPs out into the bay and snorkel freely (they have gear you can use). Food was solid at Mereva, but Alea (sister property a few minutes down the road) had amazing food. Room was spacious, quiet, and clean, with a patio overlooking the bay. The plunge pool isn't really an added benefit unless you spend a few hours filling it up (or possibly have staff fill it for you?). A few fellow guests didn't like the distance from the city and the cost of taxis, which varied based on time/driver preference but usually ran around $20 each way.

I had a rental car and the road from the highway is pretty awful in normal conditions and even worse after some rain. Definitely opt for full coverage if you have a rental car. Not sure why the properties don't pool their cash to pave the road.

All the Staff were incredible. I have a Gluten allergy and the restaurant staff took great care with all my meals. Francisco Snr recommended different meals for me each day and a Gluten Free bakery (Italdo) in Tulum Town where the food was delicious! There was a very relxed and chilled feeling to the hotel, given that it is away from the main hotel zone in Tulum and the small amount of rooms meant that it didn't ever feel overly busy. For us it was definitely a bonus to be away from the hotel zone.

The taxis into town can be a bit expensive, so more information on how to get into town would have been really appreciated.

We loved the staff and the amazing location of our room, which was directly on the beach and near our plunge pool, and 2 other pools on the property! The staff accommodated our needs and cleaned our rooms daily as requested. They front office staff helped guide us with trips and any information we needed. The waitstaff was attentive and always so nice! The property was clean and if you requested anything they were there to help! The beach was quiet and relaxing! And we went out on a snorkeling tour with the hotel, which was a treat!

I wish we could have some type of dresser to store our clothing. The large bedroom area would accommodate this! We had a long stay and needed the space for our clothing. Also, I didn't prefer the smell of the water in the shower...I wasn't sure if its the drain or septic system smell?

We absolutely loved our holiday to Tulum! The hotel was beautiful, with stylish decor throughout. The beach is gorgeous, with plenty of sun beds and drinks/food delivered to you. Our favourite pool was the jungle pool, this really was a slice of heaven. Breakfast at the hotel was amazing!! Lots of options and they cater for gluten-free too, as I'm coeliac I was very grateful for this. We had a sea view plunge pool room and we're really impressed by how big it was. The views were incredible!

The only issue we really had was that we had a number of power cuts, meaning we were without Aircon for a few nights in a row. It was very hard to sleep and I felt, for the money we paid for our stay, the staff weren't responsive enough. The location is quiet and tranquil. However, if you want to regularly go into Tulum for dinner (which I recommend), taxis are expensive (£40 each way).

Mereva had pristine facilities and hardworking and friendly staff. They constantly made sure we were comfortable and happy. The rooms we had overlooked the ocean and we had beautiful views of the sunrise every morning. It was not overcrowded so we could easily get a paddle board or kayak when we wanted. We loved the many hammocks around the property. The breakfast is free with your stay and enough to keep you full all day. The restaurant offers local cuisine made at the highest quality. Our flight was canceled out of Cancun and we couldn’t get another flight for two days. Mereva didn’t have any family-sized rooms left available but they were able to give us two rooms for the price of one so that we had a place to stay until we could get to our flight. They truly went above and beyond. When I’m traveling in a foreign country, I like to know that someone is looking out for me, and I definitely felt that way here.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mereva Hotel, and it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment we arrived until the time we checked out, everything exceeded our expectations. Friendly and attentive staff. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Their warmth and willingness to assist added a personal touch that made a significant difference. The room was clean and spacious with an amazing view, providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. We had the opportunity to dine at the hotel's restaurant, and the cuisine, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. The quality of the food was exceptional. I look forward to returning on my next visit to Tulum.

Loved all the staff, everyone was helpful and friendly! We loved our stay. The reception staff was very accomodating and kind, as well as the cleaning and restaurant staff. EVERYONE was AMAZING! We would definitely go back and recommend to our friends and family.

We have loved to know that the Taxis were so expensive before traveling. We would have booked a car in advance. Maybe the hotel can let their guests know about the high taxi prices before then so they consider renting a car.

This was our second time in tulum everything was amazing our room was beautiful we had the beach front ocean view, it was literally 6 steps to the beach we spent 3 nights which felt like long enough and the food was delicious the pizza my son had he loved it and the fish and steak was 5 star. Before arriving we had read some reviews regarding the road being very bad as we rented a car but i guess they have fixed the road as it was completely fine. If your looking for a relax beautiful hotel this is the one. We did bring a speaker as we love a party atmosphere every where we go but thats just us. There's also a cenote 1 min away where they have a crocodile called panchito that actually swims with the tourist's it was a cool and nervous experience.
