It’s very quaint and cute place. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and staffs were friendly. I was pleasantly surprised as I expected less from this hotel. If you’re not fit to climb any stairs, I’d suggest you request for the rooms on 1st floor or…. just bring your backpack. As in any European country, the staircase is very tiny and steep.

For what I paid? There was nothing that I didn’t like

no lift to bedrooms, stairs quite steep, but wasn’t a big problem as we were on 1st floor.

Amazing location, comfortable rooms. Pretty simple rooms - basically just beds, bathroom and a small desk. We had 4 single beds which was worked well for us. Close to central station - quick walk or even quicker tram ride. Just outside a tram spot which gets you basically everywhere. There is an Albert Heijn across the road for grocery needs or a quick coffee. On top of a cafe/bar which is convenient for a quick drink, although also means potentially loud patrons.

Main complaint is we did not get our room serviced for the first two days. Resulted in us running out of toilet paper. First day I asked the reception staff and they said they cleaner will get to it. Near the end of the 2nd day I had to approach the cleaner and ask if they will get to our. She said she already had and showed me she already marked it off on her sheet. She then apologised when she realised she didn’t actually. Was fine after that for the remainder of the stay.

A very cute little hotel in an amazing location! It's right beside the Palace on Dam Square so it's very central, about an 8-10 min walk to Centraal. Downstairs is a bar/restaurant, I didn't try the food but it was a mainly Italian based menu, great that you can eat downstairs if you're tired/don't want to brave the outdoors! (it was very cold when I visited). The room was tiny, containing a bed and just enough floor space to get out of bed, but it was super cosy and I slept very well. The bathroom was a good size, with a rainfall shower head and plenty of hot water. I was up on the 4th floor so had a skylight that pointed directly at the church, and if I looked to the side I could see Dam Square! Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were really friendly. Will definitely be staying there again next time I'm in Amsterdam!

When I arrived the room was freezing cold, but i got a 2nd duvet from the staff and was soon tucked up nice and warm in bed. Subsequent days the room was warmer, I think the previous occupant had turned the heating off! As I mentioned I was on the 4th floor, and there's no lift, so I had to climb 4 flights of very narrow, steep stairs to get to my room, but that's just part of being in Amsterdam! Perhaps request to be on the 1st floor though if you can't manage multiple flights of stairs.

Location was amazing, as an FYI the road out front is closed for construction at the moment so we had to get a taxi from Dam Square rather than right outside however this caused us no issues also no issues in terms of excessive noise due to it being a Saturday/Sunday. Room was super comfy, we had a quadruple (was huge) and a twin (smaller but lovely size). If you’re not familiar with many Dutch buildings, they are built tall and narrow so the stairs tend to be quite steep, if you have mobility issues I’d suggest looking elsewhere or requesting a room on the first floor to avoid going up more than 1 staircase - this seems to be an issue for other reviewers as they weren’t aware of the building style but its not an issue if you’re fine with stairs. The attached bar/restaurant does amazing food. We will defo stay at this hotel again.

Nothing I personally didn’t like, I would happily stay here again.

The location of the hotel and friendliness of the staff couldn’t have been better! My (82 yo) mother and I stayed here two nights this past week. Nicole, the manager, was incredibly helpful and attended to our every need. I would recommend Hotel Corner House to anyone wanting to explore Amsterdam from a friendly, clean, safe lodging in an excellent and central location. Be aware that some rooms are up three steep flights of stairs, so reach out to the staff directly when booking your room to let them know of any physical limitations you may have.

I was put off by the reviews but I was very happy with my stay. The staff were very friendly, we were allowed to store our luggage before and after check out, and we even checked in 2 hours early on the arrival date as our room had been cleaned early. The hotel is lovely and has a cute little restaurant/cafe/ bar underneath. The heating does work, you just have to switch your radiators on - so don’t let the freezing cold reviews put you off. I would recommend and I would also stay again. I am thinking of returning again in April.

I don’t have anything negative to say really, perhaps it would be nice to have a kettle and some coffee in the morning but that’s about it.

Clean and fresh. Appealing to the eye. Great shower, hot water. Ease of door opening to the bathroom

Not much space. But adequate for my needs, 1 night. Room.with one bed, very small. But ok, if staying only a night. No room for a suitcase, would have to be on the floor in front of the door. No where to unpack or lay cloths out. (Knowing I left my suitcase in a locker at the station) No mini fridge 4 flights of stairs to climb to the top !! My photos were from 2 weeks ago, your review only allows 1 week. They were favorable

The room I had was a nice size with a good size bathroom, cleaned each day, most of the staff where very friendly.

There was a mix up about payment and the hotel let this till the day we travelled to tell us booking.com had made a mistake and they couldn't accommodate us for the price stated even though it had been booked for 6 months so we had to pay more money or lose the booking but the hotel did do this at a reduced rate. The stairs are very steap but thankfully we didn't have to go up them all.

Great location just by the new church (15th century new!) By the side of the kings palace off dam square. Easy to get to any location in Amsterdam. Great value. Friendly and helpful staff

As with all stairs in Amsterdam they are steep. Don't try and carry heavy cases or bags up and down them. The staff will do it for you - just ask. Safer than a fall. Also the upper floor stairs could do with brighter lighting as they have dark carpets and the steps are not clear to see...narrow and curving.
